Summer 2025 entrance E44 by Lex
    Sara Y.

Friday afternoon, few windows are opened but line moves very quickly. M-F open till 9pm.... It's right next to Grand Central Station. E 44th st by Lex across from bath & body work. It might hard to find it since there're under the construction and no flag sings out...... The entrance door is pretty heavy. Greeting cards are available. they're pretty friendly I'm glad that the post office open late till 9pm. I highly recommended.

Gotta get to the post office before July 14, 2024 because the price of stamps is increasing again!! This location has always been convenient for me when I'm in this neighborhood. I'm not sure why the bad reviews. I'm usually there hours when everyone else is at work. I'm recommending you be patient and friendly and you will get better service.

Worst post office in the city no AC some older window clerk mean and grumpy and need to retire. Don't blame Trump.

Many times I come to this post office and it closed before it's time. I travel on the bus to get there for my gopost. It states 1:00 pm closed 12:15 doors are locked. Some people pay for their P.O. Box and get to it so how you think they feel. I met a few out front. Open and close on time that's all the people asking.

Yes, I really enjoy history and old buildings! On our most recent journey to New York we did alot of walking and stumbled across the post office. I dint buy anything, I just wanted to see the inside. They are open 6days a week, there is alot of open space. You will not feel crowded upon entering. The lines where not long when I visited. I simple enjoyed the architecture and did a quick walk thru... Forgot to buy a stamp, next time for sure.

I can see why this place has low ratings. I went on a Monday around my lunch time as I had to mail out a package. The post office wasn't too bad, but there was still a long line. I did use the self-service check out by the line. When people saw me use it, they were like I didn't know there was a self-service line for people to use. Maybe there should be workers directing them to go there instead of the long line. The long line wasn't managed well since only one window was servicing them. I would probably go back since this is the closest to where I work.

Very spacious post office I have been to in Manhattan. Located near Grand Central so it is in a great location. When I went though there were only like 4 people working and they had many booths with no one there.

Not to be confused with the US Boast Office, which is where they'll tell you America is the most free country in the world and by far the best. Oh wait that's the whole damn country, never mind then. In terms of service and wait time, this can be a somewhat typical post office, sometimes a little bit better than others and sometimes not as good. just on a much bigger scale. But in terms of uniqueness, this is one of the most beautiful post offices in the whole world. It feels like you're entering a spectacular museum, and it is certainly a tourist landmark for the whole city and indeed for the whole world. I'm very surprised that anyone would not give it five stars when taking into account how spectacular it is, and it always feels like totally my pleasure to be entering such a structure when I just really want to mail some letters.

There was no line to pick up a money order at 10:45 am. Fast, friendly service. Cash or debit card only for money orders. They also provide passport application forms at window 5. Renewals mail in their completed application. In person for first time passport applications.

Opens 6 days a week at 730am!!! Space is enormous. Lots of space. Doesn't feel crowded. Come in the morning. No lines. Staff are friendly. Huge selection of stamps. Came here to get the PTSD stamps and they came out ages ago. They have them!!!! And so many others to delight.

Just avoid USPS at all costs. Totally inefficient. Takes too many channels of processing to get packages.

Plenty of print and go stations, cutting machines, very spacious. The service is why I deduct 3 stars. Reading the previous review a it seems some people are good, some... not acceptable given the specific scenario below: Note: Everybody is usually rushed for something in this busy area. Appreciate the demand FedEx I came in with "I understand you're busy please take your time The front desk lady: - I said thank you and no response - said thank you again after a second task and was told "your welcome" without looking me in a face Very disrespectful. The front desk lady and I'm not going to call out her name I like FedEx Did not understand what I wanted, and immediately had a rude tone when it was miscommunication. *"If it's just print right behind you" - stern face Then turns around as if the convo is closed and shut by her. Two others felt the same way in the shop. TLDR: Great location, service not good for my experience. Maybe she had a bad day, trying to be fair here. 2/5

After questioning what defines a shipping bag, he couldn't articulate it for 5 minutes. Furthermore, he said he will have to spend $3.25 buying their plastic bag that have a place to put a label on. I had attached the label to my existing package that cannot be removed. In the same breath, he helped another customer shipping luggage without a label (just a tag). Lastly, I asked if I could use one of the freely available bags in store, he said no. The level of training of store manager is abysmal at best. Review from 2023: Eddie, Store Manager, experiences difficulty in communicating effectively, clearly and succinctly. I walked away feeling confused and frustrated for lack of care. Reference to some other company under FedEx left me thinking FedEx is disorganized.

They then decided to wedge my 15" fragile item into a 14" long box, completely ignoring the 18" box they charged for and the 2" packaging material rule for fragile items that their own company (UPS) enforces. Plus, they charged for dimensional weight of the larger box (19lbs cost instead of the actual weight cost of 8lbs), then used a smaller box so that the store did not get charged for the 19lbs dimensional weight. So to recap - the store paid for 8lbs of freight but charged customer for 19lbs of freight. Talk about deceptive business practices. This store should be investigated. Do not take your fragile items here to ship unless you packed it yourself. If you get charged for dimensional weight, make sure the store actually uses the appropriate box.
