Tax season and only one counter opened??? Unbelievable. The line is beyond the entrance door now.

Worst post office EVER! This is the closest post office to my work, and I have always heard co-workers complain about long lines and not enough staff. I should've heeded their advice: today was my first and last time going here. First, the stamp machine has been removed from the wall. I weighed my box and got in the short line off to the side to purchase enough stamps to cover the shipping. There was one guy ahead of me being helped by a female postal worker. After waiting a few minutes for her to finish with him, I stepped up, and she asked if I was the next person in line (from the main line). If she was only helping those from the main line, she should have told me (when she saw I was waiting) that she was not a separate line for quick purchases! I told her I just needed to buy stamps. Then she gave me attitude by pointing to the box in my hand and said, "No, you don't." To which, I had to argue back that I knew how much postage I needed, I would've bought stamps from the stamp machine, but they have no stamp machine! She almost seemed to listen to reason, but then said, "No, we are one post office. There is one line." Gee, thanks for wasting my time. No wonder the postal service is losing money. I'd rather ship UPS. read more

This is the most irresponsible post office I have encountered. I shipped an express mail package back in July to the east coast, which went missing. I spent days calling post masters all over the east coast to find it, and when I did find it, they assured me I would get a full refund. I went back to this post office to receive a refund and the post master at this location refused! She did not "believe" my story, so I gave her the name and number of the people who did help me. She finally confirmed that I was telling the truth and called me to tell me my check was ready for pick up. When I went there to pick up the check, I told the person at the counter who I was and why I was there. They told me that the post master would be with me in a few minutes. I waited, and waited, and waited....finally, I went to the side window where there was a guy working in the back (not a person at the counter) and asked if he could get the post master for me. He told me that the post master wasn't coming in this morning and that I should come back this afternoon!! I was waiting for 25 minutes on my lunch break---I have a job and can't just wait around for someone who didn't even show up for work that day! I received a call back from the post master saying they told her that I came for the refund and she was there now so I could come by. I explained to her how her staff lied to me and wasted my time. I then asked her to mail me the refund because I could not take time away from work to go back. She refused and said if you want your refund, you're going to have to come back here and pick it up. This is unbelievably ridiculous that this office could lose my express mail package, tell me they didn't "believe" my package was lost, lie to me, then refuse to give me my refund if I didn't take time away from my day again! Now, just this past week, I went there again to give them another shot. I mailed 4 priority packages and was charged $38.35. After checking my credit card statement, I discovered that the post office charged me twice for the same exact amount, on the same exact day, at the same exact time with the same exact transaction number. I called today to notify them of this issue and request that they reverse one of the charges. The woman in the finance department told me that they will only refund me if I have the original receipt. Again, RIDICULOUS! I have my credit card statement that shows the verbatim duplicate charge--why on earth would I stand at the counter and say, yes charge me twice for the same exact thing! And, because numerous other people have mentioned it, I will concur that Raj is extremely rude. I am filing complaints with USPS about this location. It is just awful...and everyone here leaving great reviews--just wait until you have one issue with this location; then you will see their true colors. read more

Easy to setup passport appointment over phone. Very attentive, appointment started right on time. Within 10 minutes documents got reviewed and accepted. Always recommend appointment over walk in. read more

I ordered a package from eBay 12/20/15. Been following the tracking details. Shows that it arrived to the Newark Post Office 1/7/16. Status never updated. I called them two weeks ago and they confirmed package did arrive. Could not locate. Said they would call me back and never did. Called back today and they said it wasn't delivered because I did not include a suite number. I've ordered and had delivered packages to my work for over 3 years. We do not have a Suite. I've never had this be an issue. Then they said someone used the same label for two packages but no other explanation. I asked every dept at my work and no package has been received. Not I am out $$$$ and no package. Pretty fucking pissed right now. read more

Great customer service and helpful staff. The problem is the post man stopped my mail before I requested it and now it's been over three weeks without mail being forwarded. They put a ten day hold which should not have happened. It's strange that you do online changes and now it takes longer to get your mail even though it's electronic. Moved on the 6th and my mail wasn't even in the box and I'm still waiting for my mail to arrive from April 1st!! I need my mail so since this has impacted me so negatively I think you should all be warned and pick your mail up before they send it off. read more

Whenever I come here the women are polite, patient and give quick service.

My husband and I went to the Dusterberry post office to replace a damaged passport. We got there 45 minutes before the office opened and there was a line of over 60 people. When they finally opened the doors the woman told us they would only be handing out cards to the first 25 people and after lunch only 15. She recommended we go to the Newark location so me and my husband did. We got there at 9 and there was no one there. The woman who helped us was very nice and we were done in 5 minutes. They usually only take appointments but they helped us anyway. I totally recommend coming here for passport services, the Dusterberry location is too crazy. read more

A few years back there used to be a Burrowing Owl that lived in one of the drainage holes in the curb out front. It was pretty cool because the Post Office even had a sign up that mentioned it. The owl no longer lives there and to my surprise, there is NOTHING anywhere on the internet about it. So I'm the first one to post an info on the owl! read more

The Newark location is ok. But dont waste your time with Priority Mail service. The postal system has lost 4 of my last six mailings using Priority. The tracking service shows leaving the station then stops ........ gone forever. I guess you could throw your mail in the trash and it has a better chance of making it to the mailing address. I'm being forced to use Fedex or UPS. It's getting really bad. read more

This review is for passport! I had an appointment at 1:30pm, the last appointment of the day. It went smooth and easy. The lady was super nice and quick. I'm docking 1 star because they called me 45 minutes before my appointment that their photo machine is not working so I had to get my photos done else where in time before my appointment. Make sure you make an appointment ONLINE before you go in. They allow you to book 4 weeks out. read more

I remember my first experience here several years ago was a bad one but progressively got better. I believe the staff has changed a lot over the years and is now a lot more friendly and organized. They will even joke around with you and are always willing to help you find the best shipping options. read more

Clean place, the only complaint is that sometimes they have one person inside taking the mail so it lags a bit. Other then that its a good place and in good spot away from high traffic. read more

I hand delivered a Notice of Change of Address to the Postal Person who delivers our mail last week and had a discussion about how this will effect the Post Office and my mail. Never had problems before, but today I received horrible customer service by a guy im pretty sure named Raj. He was extremely rude, inconsiderate, and more importantly, unprofessional. He was making big annoyed sighs and it was obvious he didnt want to be there. He belittled me by saying "kids these days..". (I may not be old, but im 22!) He grabbed the tape that I had brought on my own and brashly taped my package. He should have asked if I needed help before he grabbed my things. But mosttt importantly, when he took out a pair of scissors to give to me (even though I was clearly already using mt own pair), he put it out on the countertop and said "Promise not to cut your wrists?" I was so out of shock I didnt lash out but I was furious. Personally knowing people who have gone through the unfortunate act of cutting themselves due to depression or for other problems, I was very upset. It was UNNECESSARY and INSENSITIVE. Even worse I know the other employee witnessed the bad service and didnt intervene or apologize. I have worked in mail services and there is absolutely no excuse for that behavior. read more

After the phone ringing for 10 mins , it was picked up by an extremely rude employee who just hung up when I asked what days appointments are available; saying that I am taking too much time. USPS needs to learn customer service if they want to survive. read more

Very friendly and extremely helpful employees. Went there two times for passport services. Once even when we did not have an appointment, one of the employees helped us with the application. She even saved us a lot of money by advising us to go with regular service...and she was right. Got our passport in less than 2 weeks even with regular processing. read more

hate this post office. from Raj who has a problem with sending out to APO addresses and make fun of the troop support boxes. To every worker telling you to fill out the forms differently ever time. Ive been mailing out boxes for years all over the US and this is the only place that gives me problems. Im going to look for a new Post Office. read more

I'm very disappointed about this post office. I have requested a temporary address change in August of 2011 and had also received a confirmation about address change said your request is in our system but most of my mails have been returned to the senders instead of forwarded to my new address. I called two times to complain about this and they told me they will talk to the carriers but the problem didn't get resolve up today. They charged a fee for address change but didn't do their job. I hope the management should change their systems to be more accurate. read more

This is a follow up to my previous review--- after filing a claim about my mail that was handed over to someone without any form of ID-- and this was a week's worth of mail from a vacation hold (according to their postmaster general--- without so much as an apology from her)--- I arrive home tonight (DECEMBER 8th) to find mail dated July 27th from my vacation hold. Including a package I was waiting for. The post office had the nerve to restamp it December 8th with a stamp that said "previously opened".... ok, the upside is that all of the items were in it (amazon had already replaced them--- so these were just free)--- but seriously--- can you say INCOMPETENT!!! The only thing finding my mail says to me is that someone blatently LIED when I was investigating back in July!!! Some guy without ID picked up my mail--- BULLSHIT!!! The only thing that I am now worried about is I will be on vacation for this upcoming summer for 2 weeks and there is no way I trust this post office to hold mail for a vacation because they are a serious example of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing! read more
