After we made an appointment for a few days later and although we checked the web site current regulations where we only needed the parents to show our faces, we were told that they also needed to see our little girl in the flesh. A third trip to accomplish what we set upon. Once we had satisfied all of the obstacles, we submitted the application and now we wait. Hopefully, our little girl can go to Aruba for Christmas. As an aside, both of the people in the post office we very friendly and genuinely seemed interested in helping us acheive our goal. They were informative and at the same time, sensitive to us in our dilemma.

Now this post office has started returning my packages to the merchant, instead of putting it in the P.O box that I'm paying for. The delivery manager Juan can't explain WHY they can't put my packages in my PO box. I'm missing an expensive package that was supposedly delivered weeks ago. Time to call the postal inspector. Don't bother getting a PO box at this location... it's not worth the aggravation ..

First, they send back my envelope saying I need 63 cents, so I put 2 stamps on the envelope and sent it out again. Then a day later I get my envelope back and they say I need an additional $1.43! SINCE WHEN DOES IT COST ALMOST $3 TO MAIL A NORMAL SIZE LETTER/ENVELOPE WITH 7 PIECES OF PAPER? Also, why are they telling me different prices? I'm done with this postal service! Whoever is in charge of pricing should definitely not have that job since they have no clue what they are doing!

If you are nice to them, they are nice to you. I don't think I was always nice to them so I don't know when I decided to just not be such an ass but it has worked in my favor many, many times over. When I sent out my first wave of wedding invitations I asked Rosa (Who is usually at the last station at the far right) if she could hand cancel my invites because I didn't want them to get eaten by the machine and she did it! Pete (who got transferred to Miller Place) also helped me out with the invite situation. They've looked in the back for empty boxes for me to ship things and always go above and beyond to help me. This PO use to have one of those automated machines but it's gone now which sucks. I have to head over to Smithtown on 111 for that. It's a small PO but if you're just sending things out and picking up it works just fine!

I have been staying out…read morehere in St. James for the past 5 months and I am so pleased with the kind, curteous service that I always receive at the post office here. It's not like the smug workers that I often encounter in The city Post Offices who seem like they hate the world and never crack a smile, not at all... Nathalie, is one of the wonderful people who works at St. James USPS, she is so kind and helpful and ALWAYS puts a smile on my face. I think the guys name is Mike and he is also very helpful and nice. They always help answer my questions about shipping whatever it is that I am sending out that day and if I'm not smiling when I come in, I am when I'm leaving, it's such a refreshing change from most other Post offices that I've been to.
