Terrible service, needs to be shut down. This place is terrible. I was just at this post office barely two hours ago, and the post office isn't accepting packages! The primary function of a POST OFFICE!!! And this is not the first issue I've had with this branch. The place is closed at inopportune times randomly, and the staff always sound like they don't want to do their jobs, either. This place needs to be shut down, and everyone in it fired. I get that you're working through stressing situations thanks to the idiotic trash government we have right now, but when you can't even fulfill the primary purpose of a POSTAL office, to SHIP PACKAGES, it's time to go! This could be the absolute worst post office in the United states. They routinely close before their hours. Today is maybe the 10th time that they closed before 4:00, which they are supposed to be open until. Compared to other post office, the staff is unpleasant. One time I brought a 15 lb package and a woman told me she had a bad back and couldn't put it in the the container which was literally next to the Shelf I put it on. She told me to go to another post office, even though there were two other workers there and they're all supposed to be able to lift far more than 15 lb. I avoid going there whenever possible, even though it is the post office that is closest to my house. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this post office. If it was any other business, it would not stay in business. They always use the excuse inadequate staffing. This post office on Cottman Ave always has a problem. Today, the window wad closed due to "it's the system" they are saying as we are greeted coming in. You can't even buy postage or do anything on the machine. And this happens more often than any post office I've ever been in my life! Also, the window closes at 3 PM at this location. I planned my entire Saturday around a trip to this post office so that I could arrive there by 4 pm, as listed on their door as well as online. I arrived at 3:45 and the place was locked without explanation. This is unacceptable, especially when so many USPS branches are closed on Saturdays. The customer service is high. It use to have professionalism here but there are two black women that work there now and it's just not it. I went in with a shipping box, and said I wanted to one day ship it, she said to me that that's high in regards to pricing. I'm not worried about costs, and then proceeded to repeat it. This place has the worst customer service I have EVER experienced, I ordered 500 live crickets for my Bearded dragons and when I ordered them on the website it gave me the option to have them sent and held at my local post office I thought Great! I work so get the package sent in my husband's name so he can pick it up on his day off and I won't have to worry about someone stealing my package which has happened in front of my Apartment, I DID NOT CHOOSE THIS LOCATION I ordered the crickets and the company I ordered from sent them here, my husband gets there first thing in the morning and is the first person they help, while at work I get this text from my husband :They said "We don't hold packages here only PO boxes" I said "well it might be in a po box because it's priority mail and I have it on hold at this address" They said "no we don't do that here." I'm like "okay well do you know where my package would be then?" Them "no. Try levick st." I call Levick and they tell me "if it's not the address on the email then we don't have it. The Cottman one has to have it" The email says Cottman has it, the website says Cottman has it, the tracking number says Cottman has it but the a***hole at the counter keep going "we don't hold packages" and don't even wanna check; they didn't take his tracking number or ANYTHING the lady wrote "Levick" on a piece of scrap paper and threw it at him, I called freaking out because I needed my live bugs and how rude they were over something that should've just taken 2 mins at max I call and get the rudest lady but my crickets were there and they were being held they refused to service my husband granted I was already in an upset mood because of everything, but the woman I got as rude as she was she was the only person who gave me an answer, I will NEVER go back here I would rather risk my live bugs getting stolen and just being out 12 bucks then face these extremely rude and upsetting people, I dont know if it was discrimination against my husband for the way he looks or just them being nasty people but I hate this place. It's the post office. Someone said something about parking being difficult, but I've never had to park far away as it's in a mall that isn't all that busy. People hate walking more than 50ft, I guess. I mean, you can make up for it by getting E. coli at Chipotle next door if it makes you feel better. I've been coming here on a regular basis since 2003. Sometimes the lines are long, and there are times when I breeze through. Definitely less than 15m average wait if I require their services, otherwise I print a label from home and drop it off in the package delivery box. The place isn't all that clean or organized, and the boxes you'd sometimes want are nowhere in sight, but they seem understaffed, and hey let's be honest with ourselves, it's a gubmint agency. read more

I hate this post office. The employees are RUDE, parking is difficult and it is always packed. I've never walked in the doors and been greeted with no line. I usually allow for about 30-45 minutes when going here. Once it even took as long as an hour. Stay away from this location. As I look at the other reviews, I see that others have had the experience of rude workers. Well guess what? They are still RUDE! I came in here to mail a package and ask questions about an address that was in the postal system wrong. The worker who mailed my package was RUDE and then he brought out his manager for the address issue. He was RUDE, as well. He refused to help me because the address was in a different zip code. He just kept cutting me off saying "this is 49, you have to go to 52, in Bustleton." As if 19152 does not end at Ryan ave which is literally 5 minutes from Cottman Ave. After being on hold for 2 hours waiting with the customer service hotline for an agent, I just wanted a answer on HOW TO DO IT and IF THEY (ANY POST OFFICE) IS EVEN ABLE TO while I was in the area. I was not expecting him to change the address but I wanted to know if it was something that needed to be done in person. I asked that and he refused to answer the questions, saying "I have no idea what they can do up there." If someone had that issue in 19149, wouldn't you be able to explain what they need to do???!!! This post office on Cottman Avenue couldn't get any worse. If you're expecting a package in your P.O. box, you won't always get it. I've had my packages end up in someone else's box, and sometimes they give me other people's mail. If you complain to the manager that your package is missing, he'll turn the situation around and make it look like you probably picked up your package and don't remember doing it, instead of admitting that his staff are ill-trained and placing packages in the wrong P.O. boxes. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE. No supplies. I was given the wrong information with wrong supplies 4 times. It took over 1 hour to mail something one cream. The waiting is usually compounded by people who have no clue what they're doing, walk in with unwrapped items to mail, and have trouble with English -- not the staff.
