If I could give half a star I would. They consistently deliver my packages to the wrong address. I've been at my place for 4 years and they still can't get it together. Many packages are not delivered and I'm talking about at least 10 package I have not receive. All they say is they delivered it, but I never receive it. They are so frustrating and annoying. They are dog friendly which is nice. They never have any boxes or mailers for you to purchase and the people behind the desk - nice enough, but not helpful. I see there are a lot of bad reviews on this post office sadly. I don't live in this neighborhood catchment. So I only needed to send something out. I made it with 6 minutes to spare and a local, who was behind me in line, rang the bell 5 minutes later on "blaming" me for ringing the bell multiple times and they all slightly laughed. It seems the people who enjoy this post office do not write reviews. It is also apparent that there might not be enough staff at this location to help manage all the mail that comes through. When I pushed the wrong button on the wizard, the staff was calm with me and just reset the wizard. Some at other offices have gotten upset at me. I could not use the machine since I was using media mail. If someone is sending you something to this neighborhood, try to do everything you can to have the sender add insurance. That way if they lose something, at least they have to pay you back for it. read more

I was excited that there wasn't a line, but quickly found out how terrible the service was. Instead of asking me if I needed help to find the right box, two women started raising their voices at me behind a barricade window even though I wasn't at a window. They were quick to refuse me service and said they would call the "postal police" on me because my 8lbs puppy couldn't be allowed inside, even in a carrier. If I could give this location zero stars, I would. Employees show no effort, or care for customers, while working and take immense amounts of time to complete even the most simple tasks. In the last week alone, I have waited on three separate occasions for over thirty minutes, just because I need to buy stamps, and each time only two customers were helped in that time window. I have more issues with receiving packages than anyone I've ever met. I live on a 3rd floor apartment. My mailbox is on a side street, not at the mailing actual address. My neighbors get my mail like 90% of my time. Sometimes, ups or fedex "attempts" to deliver packages at my door, and just leaves a sticker on it without knocking. Retrieving those packages is a pain in the @$$. Though, the worst by far is USPS. Multiple times, they've marked a tracking number information online as "delivered" when they just put in back in the truck and brought it back to the post office. This time, though the package was clearly labeled as addressed to my apartment, they just decided to scan and deliver it to a different address instead. Cool. You literally have one job. I think that the post office for zip code 19122, on 7th & Master, may be the single most relevant example of wasted taxes. It is a tie between here and the DMV for the place that I imagine most closely resembles hell. I'll try to report back to confirm when that time comes. Now, in order to receive a refund through eBay, I need to get a police report. So i went to the police station. They told me i had to come back to the post office and call 911. I did. While I'm waiting, i decided to have yet another conversation with the supervisor here at the Spring Garden USPS office. It's a terrible place with terrible people. The management here is no better. An honest assessment of the lady who is charged with the terrible task of supervising these baffoons would be to say that she demonstrates a well below average intellect, difficulty understanding following simple steps, an elementary understanding of interpersonal relations, and a minimal desire to be of any assistance whatsoever. I've had the displeasure of dealing with her on several occasions. "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" Right. Update- I called again and the same woman did a 180. Said even though I was angry (I was) she will try to find it if it's for a sick baby... then said she would even drop it off. Wow. The woman at 7th and Girard US Post Office answering phones is a horrible person and was the rudest person I've ever spoken with. I have no idea how she could be employed anywhere. Right off she answered "We are closed." I said "hi what do we do if someone was supposed to deliver something but never did." She literally responded in a yell "I don't care because I'm not answering questions today because we are closed!" I said said "our baby is sick and we were supposed to get a special kind of formula." She said "you aren't getting it this weekend because we are closed!" Then hung up. Wouldn't answer when I called back. @USPS She should not be employed anywhere that has to do with people, much less important things like mail. This is the absolute worst customer service that I have ever experienced with USPS so far in my life time...Our package was listed as "delivered", but we have never received it. After an hour of being on hold with USPS over the phone, we were specifically advised that the package was actually not "delivered" but rather, it went back to the N 7th St location due to "no access to deliver". I went to the N 7th street USPS in Philadelphia to pick up the package and spoke to the representative named Rich. Rather than being understanding and servicing me as the customer, Rich was trying argue with me while I was attempting to explain to him the predicament...He threw his own USPS colleague under the bus by saying that "the USPS people over the phone doesn't know what they are talking about and that they are not even real USPS but more of an outside sourcing company"...Really?? Please kindly pardon my language but Rich was also being a total dick...He said "oh we don't have to show any evidence that the package was delivered, that is your problem if you haven't received it, it's not our problem"...Not helpful at all whatsoever. It is just really sad to see people in the USPS "customer service" business not really caring about the customers, at all. My package is no where to be found and apparently its not USPS' problem at all, period (according to Rich). It seems we were treated more like a nuisance than a paying customer. Customer service rule number 1 - You don't argue with the customer, rule number 2 - You don't blame and throw your own USPS colleague(s) under the bus by telling the customer that "the USPS over phone are wrong", rule number 3 - Don't be rude with an attitude toward a distressed customer who's just trying to find out where their package is at. Just a total shame what is happening in USPS...It seems nobody really cares about the customers (the ones paying for their employees salary). read more

Must agree with the rest of these reviews - literally the worst post office I've ever been in, to the point where I wonder if what they're doing is legal. They will lie and say they attempted to deliver, even though no slip was left and we were basically sitting next to the door at the time they claim to have tried. They ignore scheduled redeliveries. They will send you to their office to pick up your parcel, have you wait in that ridiculous line (make sure you have an hour to spare), and then tell you that your package isn't there, it's out on the truck so your carrier can pretend to try to deliver it again. The worst is anything sent through UPS Mail Innovations or FedEx's equivalent. They will report that they attempted to deliver and the customer wasn't available; when I called to find out what was going on, the rude attendant told me they "suspended service" on those days. When I asked why they would lie about trying to deliver my parcel on FedEx's tracking site, I was told "We had no other choice." I'm sorry, WHAT? Your other choice would be to not log an attempted delivery when there wasn't one. If you have literally any other alternative to using this post office, take it. read more

Mailman never rang my doorbell for a certified mail delivery, when I called to try to see if I should bother coming down to the post office I was hung up on immediately. The two employees there were impressively unhelpful but the manager was shockingly competent. These people are rude, unhelpful and slow. THE WORST P.O. EVER. This has to be the worst post office i have ever experienced! I have had more issues with common ish like mail delivery to my house, with the numbers on the door. Horrible. I went to drop off a package with a label already created. With not having a scale in my home, sometimes I don't get the exact weight correct and pay the difference if there is one when I drop it off. The women working weighs my box and rudely gives it back to me and tells me the weight is wrong and I need to go print a new label. So I replied, "I'll pay the difference for the extra postage now" (something I have always done in the past at other offices) and she told me no and raised her voice at me saying I need to go back and print a whole new label. I have never had anyone at any post office tell me no that I cannot pay the difference in extra postage right then and there. read more

If you live in Northern Liberties, make sure you never get parcels delivered by USPS. They have lost packages - and they do NOT honor redelivery requests. It has happened to me at least multiple times. If you need postal service, utilize the private mail companies in Northern Liberties - and do yourself a favor by getting a PO Box. read more

Is there a negative star option? WORST post office ever. It's almost comical. I sent my husband (with a delivery attempt slip) to the post office to get a time sensitive package. After waiting in line for 40min, They gave him a different package that was not the one I was attempting to get and said that was all they had... (even though he gave them the delivery slip) after my husband returned home, we realized they did not give him the correct package. I called the post office 1- 800 number only to be told that my package in fact, WAS at this post office and that it must be in this "back room" and the that package was not be accounted for---what does that mean??--.... I tried calling the post office directly for two days in a row however the number is always busy and it's impossible to get a hold of anyone. I still have not received my package and it is the shower gifts at a baby shower I'm hosting this weekend... Needless to say if given the option, I will NEVER use USPS solely bc of my experience with this office.... read more

This is far and away the worst post office I have ever been to. Twice now I have been sent packages that specifically say "Carrier: leave if no response". Seeing as the carrier has keys to my apartment building, you would think this wouldn't be a problem. However, both times the tracking info stated that "delivery was attempted, no authorized recipient present, notice left". Seeing as no notice was left, I'm led to believe that delivery was never attempted. Subsequent re-delivery requests were ignored (re-delivery was hard to schedule as I didn't have the notice with the authorization number!). Calling or e-mailing to complain does nothing. As you're experiencing the horror of the 7th street post office, it's easy to understand all those post office shooting rampages a few years back. Each time is astoundingly awful in new and horrible ways. A few possibilities: wait in line (behind just 5 people) for over an hour, wait over 20 minutes for any clerk to come out from the back to help anyone, stand in line next to a man in a robe and hole-riddled underwear, get screamed at more than once per visit by a "customer service" rep for such atrocities as picking up the bulletproof glass screen before she commands you to or suggesting that she gather multiple package slips at once instead of waddling and huffing and puffing to the back with each one separately. Every. single. person there is picking up a package (or buying a single stamp, which is a whole other story) so have a designated person to get those packages all at once!!! I've seen it done at other post offices!!! It will not cause a fight because people think I'm getting special treatment!! We will all rejoice because we're all there for our packages you are hoarding in the "back," which must be in New Jersey since it takes so long to come back from there. The one glimmer of hope is the man they have working there sort of regularly. He is polite and efficient. I won't go in anymore unless he's there, which helps with the rage but is certainly not convenient. While you're waiting in anger, at least you can check out the New Deal WPA art on the north wall! read more

This is the absolute most horrendous post office on the face of the earth. I wish I could give it negative stars. Whoever is on my neighborhood route from this post office constantly leaves my mail outside on the doorstep if I am not home (even when I call, e-mail, and create a USPS online account to ensure that they DO NOT DO THAT and simply hold it there instead) and due to their complete incompetence I have had four, yes four, packages stolen from my doorstep in the past month. Again, even after contacting them in every way shape and form to have my packages held there and receiving confirmation that they will do so. Ha, yeah right. Anytime I order something from now on I almost expect not to receive my packages at this rate. Additionally, when I go there to pick something up (the very few times by some miracle they actually don't leave them outside) the employees are always rude and miserable.
