This is by far the best staffed and best run post office I have ever used. Lived here 5 years and love going to the post office. I use it often due to children and siblings living far away. Until you've lived it in other places, especially more populated areas, you might not understand. The workers here are kind and friendly and very efficient. read more

We love our mailman Carlos Hurtada. We call him Gmail because he is so proficient at his job while being friendly and caring. We can tell the days when he's off because his alternate leaves all the junkmail on top of the boxes and they blow all down the breezeway. MY wife and I got our PassPorts at the Port Hueneme Post Office, so naturally, when I read (on Twitter) Trump wants to close it, or something to that effect, I became incredulous. CLOSE IT DOWN⁉ WHY⁉ I stopped by (today) to find out. I spoke with a postal Clerk (Rachel) and asked her. She said the Post office has been here a long time and it's going NOWHERE. Well, needless to say, I was estatic. This 93041 Post Office is a Port Hueneme Landmark. It's a small town post office. Very quaint but very efficient. Stop by and greet them. read more

1. Last thing a postal service should worry about is using tape. So apparently only way you can use their tape is you send packages overnight. I used USPS for ever and never heard this rule. Well not at this location I will assume their is a tape shortage at this location. read more

I hate this post office now. They used to be great. Then theCity change an ordinance or whatever, and the past couple of years local residents are required to go to Oxnard branch to pick up ALL packages, that means a longer drive and longer lines. Stupid. That's not why I'm writing this review. I hadn't been to this post office in awhile since none of my packages arrive here, after today I'm not coming back. I arrived with a small box rtn to sender with prepaid rtn label. I had all my paperwork all I needed was a couple inches of clear tape to seal box. I didn't steal it because I wanted to make sure I placed the return label correctly the box, as a label was rather big compared to box size. I asked postal clerk for a few inches of tape and he said " we don't provide that, but you can purchase a $6.00 roll in the corner!!" I said,"really? You're kidding me!?!" FedEx, UPS or any local mail depot provides a few inches of tape to seal a box at drop off. I'm left wondering if this is just bad management? The bottom line if that if you can no longer pick up local packages , and they won't provide simple services like a few inches of tape, what's the point of this office? one star read more

I have to acknowledge Rachael & Ron that work at this Post office. I don't have to go to the PO facility very often but when I do, I love to go to the Port Hueneme office. They have wonderful service oriented people. Whenever Ron is behind the desk he is always friendly and helpful. This small Post Office has very limited parking and lines build up quickly. The staff are outstanding for the most part. There is a mural depicting the history of the city of Port Hueneme and the harbor. If you're in a hurry and it's after 3pm, go somewhere else. read more

I've attempted a few times to use this location for mailing packages and never again! I also seem to get the same agent -- the one with huge pierced plugs in his ears (makes me squeamish). First package was international to UK. My printed label was perfect and clear. Took him several times to fill out customs form. I kept trying to assist him because I could see he couldn't figure out the city/province differences. Small package was sent nearly a month ago (Priority Intl) and still hasn't arrived. So much for Bday gift. The second small package was sent for Mother's Day, First Class Priority to Arlington, TX (on a Wed early PM). Told him it needed to be there by Saturday -- he says "no problem" and after the transaction finished and I'm walking away he says it will be there by Monday! WTGGG? The line was long (with distancing) and rather than take more time to correct I let my daughter-in-law know it may be a day late. Well, it was more than a day -- was four days late! So after paying the higher prices for "reasonable" delivery times -- one has never arrived and I could have paid standard price for TX delivery and probably would have been delivered faster! Lesson learned. I will continue to drive 13 miles (R/T) to the C Street (Gonzales) annex as they're the VERY BEST post office around!!! read more

Horrible service. I was trying to mail an item out and I checked my phone and it was exactly 4:55pm. Keep in mind that the store hours say they close at 5:30pm. As I was next in line, one of the store clerks asked me to leave because he said they were closed??? Last time I checked online they closed at 5:30. Turns out they changed their closing time but that's not the point. I was inside before the closing time and the clerk told me to leave! When he kicked me out I said to change the time online so people won't get mixed up and he rudely replied with "not my problem, let the corporation know." Can't believe this happened. I will from now on be going to the UPS shipping store when I have to have something shipped. By FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. The ethnic lady with the glasses working this morning is RUDE! I asked one simple question about shipping a return package somewhere and she got an attitude with me and proceeded to help the next customer in line and made me proceed to the back of the line just because I didn't have the right envelope picked. Good thing another cashier came out and gave me EXCELLENT service. It is worth the drive to Victoria Ave to go to the UPS shipping store than to waste my time here. read more

This post office sucks. I have had one package waiting for me for 2 weeks before I got it and that is only after my friend called and asked if I received the box he sent and I went down and picked it up. The second box he told me he was mailing, and 6 days later I went to pick it up, no notice ever came. I was mailed a return receipt letter that I didn't know was coming and they left a notice in my mail that said FINAL NOTICE...not who it was from nor the first name just NELSON. Today I just got a terse notice with FINAL NOTICE and three business days to pick it up. At least this time it was filled out properly. read more

It's a great post office. One of the ladies always thanks our soldiers for their service to our county. I love that. Maria is a sweetie. Everyone is efficient and helpful. Packages get mailed to and from all over the world because Seebees use this post office a lot. I have heard our soldiers say the post office service at the base is below standard so they use the Hueneme Pleasant Valley station. Sad was the day last year when the USPS decided that our Hueneme mail was to be delivered from the Oxnard post office to which you must fight many traffic lights and lack of parking when you need anything having to do with mail delivery to your home. Hueneme clerks answer the phone. Oxnard NEVER does, sigh. Parking is a bit limited at Hueneme but it moves quickly since the clerks move quickly. read more

One of the best post offices in the area. Having lived in Oxnard before, even though this post office does have a tendency to get packed really quickly, it is still not as hectic as going to one of the offices in Oxnard. The employees are friendly (as long as you're not acting like an impatient fool) and very efficient, they try to make it as pleasant as possible while also trying to get you out the door quickly. I've been going to the Hueneme post office since 1981, and I have never had a negative experience. The clerks are always friendly, courteous, efficient and knowledgeable of their services, fees, and products. Several times they have helped me ship packages in the most economical way, so they have saved me money. Maybe it's because I'm friendly and courteous to them, too. A smile goes a long way! I've worked with people waiting in lines, too, so I know how impatient and cranky some people can get. They take it out on the person at the counter. This building looks like a Third World country...dirty. They need to hard wash the sidewalk and pick up the trash. Makes me mad every time I have to go there. The front employees are very efficient and quick though. I like that there are cards to purchase for birthdays, etc. right there where you can look at them while waiting in line. I recently had a very important piece of mail that needed overnight service. I had to open the envelope before sending because I needed to double check something. I ended up tearing the envelope. I got a little flustered but the woman behind the counter found me an envelope to stick it in and made sure it was secure and ready to go. This employee was very pleasant and seemed to know everyone who walked through the door. I will be back to this branch when I need postal services. read more

I will never be shipping with usps again. Most people who work here are nice, but the Caucasian lady is extremely rude. I've gone in several times & she's been rude to me each & every time. This last time I went in my package that I shipped 3 weeks ago wasn't updating the tracking & I called the phone about 10 times with no answer. I spoke with her when I went in & explained my issues calmly & politely. She responded by saying that I'm not correct & starting arguing with me in front of other employees & a whole line of customers. I proceeded to take out my phone & show her the tracking & her response was "oh okay." No apology, no remorse. She then gave me the number for consumer affairs.
