This is a very busy post office at times. I have always had good service when getting stamps and mailing items. A good portion of their regular staff have retired recently so keep that in mind when visiting. The staff now are mostly new. We were all new once right? Poor on customer service! In cases that need resolution they don't effectively troubleshoot problems! They seem only to be able to handle the basic day to day postage operations - front desk employees are only helpful in so much as you only request simple tasks such as mailing packages and putting postage on items. They don't very effectively troubleshoot customer problems or concerns - and problem seem to be many. Powell mail carriers FREQUENTLY misplace mail (either in wrong boxes or just plain laziness ... apparently "lost in the sauce" of boredom and so don't take time to be careful ... I don't know? But it's frustrating just how frequently this USPS branch is messing up). In this day and age of high tech shipping and delivery services these people have not kept pace with the population growth of the area. They are constantly chasing their tails and don't seem to care about improving their process. Even the simple procedure of placing holds on mail becomes problematic nearly every time I request holds - either the mail carrier doesn't follow through or the office doesn't effectively communicate with carriers. I do hope the Powell Post Master reads this and works on a more efficient and effective shipping and delivery system. Granted a few mistakes are going to happen and that's understandable, but on a very frequent daily basis there should not be the volume of issues that plague this branch. read more

I applaud their efforts for social distancing and protecting employees and patrons. They are fast and efficient at the counter. Giving them 4 out of 5 only because one postal worker had her mask only covering her mouth and not her nose. read more

I come here all the damn time. I sell crap on ebay (I do this instead of garage sales), so they see me sporadically. I've never had an issue with them - the service to my house, nor the service in their office. I mean, I'm pretty damn clueless, and they've always been helpful to me, even when I'm probably asking stupid questions. I live in an area where I have the same house number as a house on the street behind mine. We have completely different street names. And I receive their mail at least once a week and they receive mine. I frequently receive their packages and they often receive mine. It's amazing that Amazon has never mixed up my address but USPS does it weekly. This needs to be addressed and I have called several times throughout the years (I call at least 3x a year to complain) and it still continues to happen. read more

I visit here quite often because it's down the street from my home and very convenient. Since the pandemic, this particular branch has taken the necessary precautions on the safety of all customers. There are lines marked for social distancing and plexiglass at each window. The self service kiosk is still available for those in a hurry. The postmasters are friendly at the counters and very helpful about information regarding stamps, packaging, etc read more

I own a business in Shawnee Hills Oh which has a Powell mailing address. There is 6 businesses in my plaza we are lucky to get mail 2 no more that 3 times a week. I I treated my customers like the USPS has I would be out of business long ago. read more

I am having the same issue as the previous review. I am trying to set up a passport appointment for my son and the phone has been ringing busy for quite awhile. I sent a FAX, hopefully they will call me... I tried a bit later and someone answered the phone, so I was successful in getting an appointment set up. We moved into our new home 5 weeks ago and we have yet to receive one piece of mail. We have called the post office and no one ever picks up the phone. We have visited several times and each time they tell us our address has been registered and we should be receiving mail any day now. We have had packages returned due to our address still not showing up anywhere in anyones system. The post office has been of absolutely no help in this matter. I go to this post office quite often as I ship out a ton of packages from my online clothing business. I do have to agree with the other reviewers that this location pretty much ignores the phone when it rings and they do not answer it. It's easier for me to just go in and wait in the long line to figure out the answers to my questions. There drop off bin is very small and easily filled up in the evening when I can't get in during the day to drop off my large amount of packages. I live in an apartment complex and don't trust USPS free pickup unless I am here to keep an eye on my items. I wish they had a drop off cart in the lobby during the day to drop off packages with prepaid labels, like my old post office used to do. They allow me to dump my prepaid packages on the counter and on the floor over the counter and skip the line. The problem is that I don't really trust leaving them on the counter, since they take care of the never?ending line of customers before moving my packages away from reach. The employees are friendly and I don't mind waiting in line if I need to, I just wish there was an easier way for drop offs. read more

The Post Office does the best they can with the resources they have! I worked a variety of jobs in the Meriden/Durham Ct. 06450,06422.In the 20 years I worked there, there was only one instance where were told not to report! One freakin day.Think about it! Everybody always looks at the negative aspects. You people would all be lost without the service! Most Post Office workers are courteous do the best job they can!, and its stupid to ask carrier where package is! If they had it they would give it to you! In the case of relocating you should put a forwarding notice in estimating the day you will be at new residence!Have your mail held at old post office until you are PHYSICALLY moving! Just moved in to my new home, moving truck out front blocking the mailbox by about three inches. Mailman refuses to stop and drop of our mail (Wich informed delivery says we have) or pick up the outgoing mail (flag was clearly up) actually followed him trying to get him to stop i finally blocked him in after honking and following him, he tells me he's got nothing... show him informed delivery say i do... still (without looking) says i don't have anything... asked he take the mail with the flag up, nope already passed us... lazy pos, wish i had a government job read more

Wow, no one likes the USPS - particularly not the Powell post office, it seems. I have to give credit where credit is due. I buy and sell a lot on eBay, so I'm shipping and receiving packages at least once a week. I've only lived in Powell for 4 months, but I've never once had an issue with have lost packages. We last lived in Columbus, and I figured packages going out from Powell would take longer than in Cbus because of Cbus having a sort facility and being a larger city. Not so. My one small complaint is that routes here have changed a couple of times, and I missed getting a package out one time. Recently, it went from 5pm to now around 3pm all of a sudden. Most people probably wouldn't have noticed this, but I'm a bored housewife. read more

What a JOKE of a post office. Been dealing with mis-delivered mail for YEARS AND YEARS..... How difficult can it to be to match the address on the mail or package with the number on the house or mailbox????????? Now with informed delivery, I can actually see the mail pieces that I am not receiving... Waiting for a doctor bill with personal info on it and showed it was out for delivery yesterday.... Take a guess if I got it!!!! YUP.... I've had to complain here multiple times (from two separate addresses/mailmen) about my mail being stuffed so tightly into my mailbox that contents are damaged even when package says "Do Not Bend." Envelopes are often bent to an extreme to force them inside the mailbox as apparently its too much trouble for the mailman to put them on the doorstep or leave a note for me to pick up. I've also caught the lazy mail guy putting a "signed for" note in the mailbox to pick it up in person without even bothering to go to the door to see if anyone was home. read more

A piece of mail never made it to Heap /Pipp office for reverification . They never got it. Didn't get returned either. This was back in February. I took it to counter for postage. The rest is unknown after dude put with other mail. read more

We've had the same mailman for almost 2 years and for a while no issues, but lately my packages have been delivered open or the box damaged without a note given the reasons why my packages we're opened. When I call the main number I cant seem to get a straight answer, but they always tell me that they'll let the mailman know so he's aware....
