Now thinking back to that, I think how silly that I was and I could have approached that situation a little differently back then. Today I learned how nice the post office staff here are and want to help you with your mail. I was just trying to mail out my wedding slideshow for my in-laws today and they were so helpful because I didn't know that the package I selected would have cost so much just to send to Cincinnati. Instead of choosing priority mail, the post office worker had me go with first class which end up costing less than the price priority was costing to send out the CD. I am so happy I came here today and can't wait for my in-laws to open up their package on Wednesday! I know they will be so happy to see our slideshow from my wedding. It will just brighten their day!:)

I experienced not only great and expert service from him, he shared a number of tips to make sure I increased the probability of obtaining my rush order passport. He was very knowledgeable as to why many people do not make their need date on the first try. He also educated me on how successful a very recent advance by the USPS that incorporates AI in their part of the passport processing process has dramatically dropped the number of initial fails on passport expedited asks. He was doing all this education while simultaneously working my application package. It was a very impressive demonstration of superb customer service, exquisite professionalism and a passion for knowledge by Jonathan that extended well beyond just superficially executing a series of "steps" in the process. Powell mail carriers FREQUENTLY misplace mail (either in wrong boxes or just plain laziness ... apparently "lost in the sauce" of boredom and so don't take time to be careful ... I don't know? But it's frustrating just how frequently this USPS branch is messing up). In this day and age of high tech shipping and delivery services these people have not kept pace with the population growth of the area. They are constantly chasing their tails and don't seem to care about improving their process. Even the simple procedure of placing holds on mail becomes problematic nearly every time I request holds - either the mail carrier doesn't follow through or the office doesn't effectively communicate with carriers. I do hope the Powell Post Master reads this and works on a more efficient and effective shipping and delivery system. Granted a few mistakes are going to happen and that's understandable, but on a very frequent daily basis there should not be the volume of issues that plague this branch.

The male took my application and right away noticed that I have written my driver license number in the section under the line which is for the signatures. I didn't sign anything just my driver license number which I am suppose to have there anyway. He could've verified and move on but he preferred to be entertained on my expense and kept "what do they say here, can you read..." bs like this. I am a person with impaired vision, blind without my glasses. Took me long time to fill this application the day before and one thing I do not understand, whose idea was to have the drivers license info in the same section where the signatures are. It makes zero sense to me. You enter all this other personal info including SSN in "normal sections", but somehow the driver license it in the section designated for the signatures. I told I don't see what he problem is you can compare and see the numbers are the same, then I will sign right in front of you. This was not satisfying to him. My wife tried to interfere and suggested filling another application but she was told to stay away "We got it". He preferred to continue the humiliation of the disabled person. No willingness to resolve the situation. Ernest, I hope some day you and your family are treated the same way you treated me and my family today.

This Post Office is tucked off to the side on Orange Road near 23, and I actually missed it the first time I went, expecting a much larger and imposing building. There is ample parking space and a turn-around, which makes it easy to deposit mail into 3 different mailboxes and for folks to exit while others enter. Despite being small, this Post Office is always busy and traffic entering and exiting the narrow driveway can get a bit dicey at times. Despite the compact size and entryway, the customer service at this location earns it top marks. I was actually taken aback by level of friendliness and courtesy by all workers at this location. I've never had a bad experience and although always quite busy, the line moves quickly. Surly government workers at other locations should visit and get a little inspiration and some best practices.
