This is a very busy post office at times. I have always had good service when getting stamps and…read moremailing items. A good portion of their regular staff have retired recently so keep that in mind when visiting. The staff now are mostly new. We were all new once right? A hobby of mine requires a lot of stamps specifically as opposed to just postage. I find that their selection is pretty well stocked.

They seem only to be able to handle the basic day to day postage operations - front desk employees are only helpful in so much as you only request simple tasks such as mailing packages and putting postage on items. They don't very effectively troubleshoot customer problems or concerns - and problems seem to be many. Powell mail carriers FREQUENTLY misplace mail (either in wrong boxes or just plain laziness ... apparently "lost in the sauce" of boredom and so don't take time to be careful ... I don't know? But it's frustrating just how frequently this USPS branch is messing up). In this day and age of high tech shipping and delivery services these people have not kept pace with the population growth of the area. They are constantly chasing their tails and don't seem to care about improving their process. Even the simple procedure of placing holds on mail becomes problematic nearly every time I request holds - either the mail carrier doesn't follow through or the office doesn't effectively communicate with carriers. I do hope the Powell Post Master reads this and works on a more efficient and effective shipping and delivery system. Granted a few mistakes are going to happen and that's understandable, but on a very frequent daily basis there should not be the volume of issues that plague this branch.

Now thinking back to that, I think how silly that I was and I could have approached that situation a little differently back then. Today I learned how nice the post office staff here are and want to help you with your mail. I was just trying to mail out my wedding slideshow for my in-laws today and they were so helpful because I didn't know that the package I selected would have cost so much just to send to Cincinnati. Instead of choosing priority mail, the post office worker had me go with first class which end up costing less than the price priority was costing to send out the CD. I am so happy I came here today and can't wait for my in-laws to open up their package on Wednesday! I know they will be so happy to see our slideshow from my wedding. It will just brighten their day!:)

This is a tiny post office. With only two employees at the counter, the line can be long, and…read morethere's little space for social distancing. The people who are getting passports are cared for at the counter, which means one cashier is occupied for 30 minutes. Access to this post office is awkward. If you are driving north, make sure you turn before the light, as there is no way to turn in at the light. Parking spaces are also awkward. Finally, the driveway out to State Street has a sharp dip, making for a very jarring experience. If I can, I will avoid this place.

I spent over 40 minutes there with them making copies of the death certificate, trustee paperwork, drivers license, etc. Three weeks later, and I still do not have any forwarded mail. I tried calling them and of course no one ever answers the phone. I physically went into the post office and the girl at the counter said they don't have any record of me changing the address. I asked for the supervisor and I spoke with Will and he said nothing was showing. My father's previous address at an assisted living facility did not have any mail for him. I asked Will, where his mail his previous address did not have it. He said he did not know and would have t get with the carrier. Really???? Incompetence at his finest. This is our government at best!

This review is because of a recent visit I had to return 2 small items to AMAZON. There were two guys working at the time, one older and one younger. The taller older guy started to complain about Amazon returns has the younger guy was scanning some Amazon returns that a lady in front of me brought in. Way to make people feel uncomfortable! By the time she left, it was my turn. The younger guy helped me and the older guy continued to complain stating "We had 1 paying customer all day!" (they opened at 10am today since it's Sunday, I got there slightly before 11am) I'm guessing the paying customer was the lady next to me who was actually shipping something. I said "Well hopefully Amazon pays you guys" and he said "No, they don't" which I HIGHLY doubt they don't pay some sort of fee to UPS and the other stores that they have processing returns... If you've been open for an hour and you had ONE customer shipping something, then basically you wouldn't be doing much if there were no Amazon returns. Sorry for making you work at work. I'll give him 1 point since he did throw "no offense to you and your returns..." in with his complaints but still, the whole thing was awkward. On my way out, I stated that "I will take my returns elsewhere from here on out" (which kind of sucks because they are the closest place to me that takes Amazon returns). Encountered the most unprofessional postal carrier today. She refused to let me get my mail even…read morethough i had a key to my box, my name was on the label inside the box and i had a photo ID. I live in lakeside at the sanctuary apartments. We have centralized mail pick up. The female postal worker had every mailbox open. She was on her earbuds on a personal call. When she refused my access i asked for her name to make a complaint about her. She refused stating "I don't care. I don't give a f---". When i left without my mail I snapped a photo of the situation. She saw me taking the photo and flipped me off.
