Post offices get a lot of grief no matter what. They're run like a business, but tied up by lots of federal regulations that limit what they can do to operate more efficiently. So I tend to cut them some slack, and rate one post office against other post offices rather than businesses that are free to operate the way they want. The exterior of the building is run down, almost ugly, but the interior is up to date. The lobby is open 24 hours, and the automatic postage machine is excellent. In addition to weighing stuff, it measures dimensions -- and asks whether the weight looks right. The user interface is mostly good, with minor exceptions: - putting the most expensive mailing options first, ahead of more frequently chosen options, and - asking a few questions that seem to obvious (such as the stuff about mailing explosives). The people are just about always well trained, efficient, and polite. Sometimes they're even friendly. Staffing is usually adequate; lines are generally only long at peak hours or when multiple slow customers tie up more than one counter agent at a time. On my most recent visit, I went for information about passports. I didn't have to wait; they had a poster with all I needed to know on a poster in the lobby. it looks like someone drove over my parcel repeatedly until it opened, and moved it to a new envelop. the document inside was torn up. Every once in a while I get the wrong mail, or other things that are easier to shrug off. This is awful, and I hope it doesn't happen again. read more

I have already made appointments and appeared twice - each time, having to wait a month for the closest next available appointment - both times having passport services unexpectedly closed with no other choice but to go back online and wait again. Internal theft going on at this location the box is 7x7x7 can't just go missing. Signature delivery never delivered lying that I requested it to be held. Says driver is new and on annual leave and package is missing . Something doesn't add up. Do not let anything of value be delivered by usps. Epic fail at this location wasted several hours. Redmond Post Office will ruin your life! This local post office refuses to deliver important documents and returns to sender. This has happened to me many, many times over the years. Even though the mail has proper address and postage, it doesn't matter. Not sure why; too lazy, understaffed, just plain incompetence? I have seen several envelopes that were returned to sender by the Redmond Post Office which had no reason for return. Whatever the reason, this is an accurate and true review. They are untouchable. There is nothing to be done about it other than continue to suffer on the receiving end of these deadbeats. Once when I inquired about not receiving mail they told me, "Oh, that's the delivery route in which we had a driver park the truck and walk off the job". The mail had somehow been "lost". What is going on at this facility. The only thing we can do is do not use the USPS for anything important. Use a different courier. All I needed was to make sure I was sticking the return label on the box in the right spot but GUESS WHAT? They don't have tape. They told me to go BUY TAPE. A post office that doesn't have tape. Unhelpful and rude. Krishna did not want to check on a package. Tracking said it was scanned on site that morning after being returned from the route and was available for pickup, but I was told I would have to come back tomorrow because their whole tracking system does not work. I find it hard to believe that they would scan the package and show "available for pickup" then not have it and they simply tell everyone to come back later. Terrible experience and a waste of time. I'm going to avoid this location at all costs and the USPS should investigate this location if they have a broken tracking system. Do NOT come to this USPS for the passport service! We made an appointment few weeks ahead, showed up early for the passport service for our 13 months old baby. Waiting 10 minutes and a lady came out and told us they have cancelled the passport service for the day... They had our email/phone when we book appointment but no one gave us a call ahead of time. She was nice enough to contact us after to re-schedule within the same week. We got there today, 30 mins earlier.. Waited 10 mins and the person at the counter told us the passport service has been cancelled... Told her we were re-scheduled yesterday, but she said not to sure what to tell us, because it's cancelled. I waiting for another 15-20 mins while she called for a supervisor, but no one came so we just walked out. What a wasted of our time as we had to cancel our meetings, drop off the other kid at daycare first and then go back to daycare to drop off the 13 mo old, twice in a row. Unacceptable! This is one of those chicken and egg problems where they're understaffed so there are always long lines, and then this place gets bad reviews for having long lines and they have problems with staffing. Okay, to be fair, it IS a pretty long wait for anything. There's at most two counters open on any given day, and the service just doesn't meet demand at all. While there are plenty of signs for taking applications for clerks, there doesn't seem to be much traction on that front, sadly. Getting to the front of the line is an arduous process if anything. I really dislike that having to come to the post office is a necessary evil because I know the experience is always less than awesome. At least there's a decent amount of parking in the lot, but I don't know if there's a need for that if customers are avoiding this place. read more

I'm not sure about the operation of the overall post office, but their passport services and fingerprint services are extremely unreliable. Twice I've tried to go in to get something done when they were supposed to be open. Both times I was told management decided to close the office and there was nothing they could do about it. There was no notice on the website and no warnings when you walk in. The signs on the passport office door actually said they were supposed to be open and they were closed. This has happened to me twice. If you need to get a passport processed or fingerprints done, I highly suggest you avoid using the Redmond post office. There's a very disgruntled and grumpy Asian male worker here that definitely needs to retire or be shown the door. I came here to file a Change of Address and he flat out told me that this particular Redmond USPS does not do that. While I was still trying to recover from the surprise of how this could be, he kept loudly asking me to go figure it out at a different post office in front of a gazillion other unhappy customers. I've only been here to run in and drop off packages that were prepaid but the freaking package slot was padlocked shut! This is the entire point of a having a drop off canister for the packages. after months and months of trying to get a passport appointment, I finally got one scheduled and it was suppose to be tomorrow morning they wait a half hour before they close the night before and canceled my appointment and offered no solution (like a new scheduled appointment for their next available one) the unhelpful person on the phone said their name was Annie, I asked for them to give my info to their manager Chris to help with a new appointment and they didn't want to and kept just trying to rush off the phone. if I could give zero stars I would. i get staff problems, but unhelpful service with no solution to something that falls on their end is ridiculous and extremely frustrating. read more

If I could give this -five stars I would. Rudest staff I've ever encountered. I live in an apartment and since I moved in, my mail hasn't come regularly. I've had junk mail without my name on it, advertising also with no name on it and coupons shoved into my mail box. I tried to keep up with clearing it out. Regular mail though I didn't receive. It would always be returned. After months of dealing with this annoyance, I was expecting a very important document and they mailed it. I didn't receive mail for days and I checked my post box twice a day. It never came. I called the post office and it never was picked up. The answering machine was full?! How is a business not checking and clearing that? I called the official postal arrive and they put in a request. Redmond post office finally called me. Annie, the lady on the phone, was the rudest lady I have ever spoken too. She blamed me for everything, told me that I didn't pick up my mail so they held it without notifying me. I told her as such. She told me I must have missed it. Talked down to me, told me use our website and hope mail if you're gone. Check your mail everyday or we'll hold it and will not deliver. We went into the USPS office for Passport services. We were waiting in the line for like 30 mins along with others. The Staff working there were observing us waiting and after 30 mins they told us that the passport services are closed(and had been closed for a week because of lack of staff). They had no notice put up in their office or on their website that their services had been closed. They end up wasting customers time by making them come all the way to their location, wait for a long time and then letting them know their services are closed. Such incompetent bunch of morons working there! They have no business working there when there are hundreds and thousands of unemployed people out there who could do a better job! I have been trying to get a hold of SOMEONE, ANYONE at this location. I haven't received any mail at my new address in over a month and a half. Not even junk mail. The only thing I've gotten is a VACANT piece of paper, which I've filled out FOUR TIMES and it keeps showing up in my mail box. Oh, and the old residents moved out over 2 months ago but I keep getting packages delivered to my door for them! I DID, however, order a very expensive wallet that "someone" signed for, but I never got. I disputed the charges with my bank. No, it wasn't my signature, but the mailman signed for it for me? So... let me get this straight... mailman signs for my package - addressed to me, and leaves it in my mailbox, but doesn't take it to my door. Now leaves "VACANT" notices in my mail box. AND takes packages TO my door for the OLD residents...? What is WRONG with this person???? And "the mailbox is full" for the post office. USPS DOES NOT GIVE A S*IT. I've ordered things I still haven't gotten. Hundreds of dollars worth. "Delivered" they show. Nope. All I'm showing is "VACANT" in my mailbox. These mail carriers have to go through a barrage of tests and background clearances to GET their job, but is one of them actually to DELIVER the mail?? Clearly not. read more

OMG! Customer service at it's worst! I wish I would have waited and gone to my regular place where I drop of packages. I went to this location since I was close by and was happy to get it dropped off before the weekend. I measured the package at home and I was slightly under the 2lbs limit as usual, since adding some tape and address sticker most likely get's met to the 2lbs on the dot. Well, she put the package up on the scale, added the custom slip and told me I am over! 2lbs 1oz it says! I just said, oh ok, not sure why this is a problem if it is 1oz over with the customs paper. I always pay $22.50 and she said it's 34.50? I thought she was kidding, but she smirked at me and said with a broad smile on her face "you are an oz over, this will fall in the next price category". I was flabbergasted, what!? Then remove the stupid paper and we are back to where we should be. She just shook her head, said no and pointed at the scale showing 2lbs 1oz and I either I pay extra or go ahead and open it back up to remove something. I waited in a huge long line for 40min so an unhappy person that hates her job can give some of her bad attitude to paying customers. I know why the postal service is going downhill lately and people like her make it unpleasant to use the postal service. I wish they would be as detail oriented and nitpicky with the rest of their jobs too. I don't get anything from them when my mail shows up in the neighbors box or if I have to run around the complex and put mail on other peoples doors. I guess that is different, that seems to be perfectly fine. They need to get a course in customer service, an attitude adjustment and more staff too, so the line isn't out the door. I will go back to my old location down south, they are pleasant to work with and they don't seem to have the need to let their bad moods out on poor customers. read more

I know the old downtown post office had its problems, especially concerning parking. So this newer location avoids that problem, as there are parking spots a-plenty. But for me, that's where the advantages end. This newer site actually has a smaller "business" area, with fewer counters than the old site. Yes, it's nice to see the same employees there, but because the "business" area is smaller with fewer counters, the line up of people waiting is usually longer now. And as another reviewer mentioned, the hours of operation now start at 0900 hrs, as opposed to 0830. I too, like many others, used to use the P.O. right before work, and now I cannot. Lastly, this newer site is now in an industrial complex area east of the Target, south of UPS/Cadman. The building it's in is cold and sterile. Say what you will, but the old post office had character. And this new site is on the outskirts of town. For the majority of Redmond residents, between the new hours and the physical location, this new site is awfully inconvenient for us. I hope they're able to eventually bring back a centralized post office or, at the very least, set up a satellite office (like the one in the Bridle Trails Bartells). read more

I drove up to my local post office the other day to discover that it had been shut down. Super sadness, it was only blocks away from my house. Now the closest post offices, during high-traffic times, are gonna be quite a trip away. When I discovered this horrifying situation, I pulled out my Yelp app and found the next nearest post office. Kinda out of the way, but it looks more like a big hub, so I guess that makes sense. The customer area was nice, looked newer, everyone was friendly, and I got in and out, the week before Christmas, pretty quickly. This post office lost my wifes one of a kind hand made bday present and closed the case with no resolution so they would look good. The service is slow and the people there often can't communicate very well in English, but I've never had a package lost or damaged in shipping. Much cheaper than UPS or Fed EX - both shipping and insurance. I worked in receiving at a hardware store for a couple years and when UPS delivered, they'd have their rear van door open - they'd walk on the fallen packages on the floor and throw them around. Their attitude seemed to be "if it gets broken I don't really give a damn, let the customer claim it on insurance". This may be because they are pushed so hard by their management. I went to this post office for a passport renewal because I had to get a photo anyway. All of the staff was very helpful. The gentleman in the passport office took my photo, checked my application, and made up the mailer for me. There was no processing fee for a renewal, just the passport cost, the postage to send it, and the cost of the photo. Also, the staff at the counter were very helpful and friendly in directing me and processing my postage. They also were very friendly in answering some of my questions. read more

My husband was offered a position abroad for a few months and our daughter didn't have a passport. We rushed to get everything ready and saw Redmond USPS had an opening next day. We arrived early as there was snow, and although they were running behind a few minutes the cashiers kindly offered a snack to my son and daughter. I have not consistently received our mail for 6 months. Due to high covid risk issues, my husband and I been on a temporary address change status, in a different state. I've called the Redmond post office 150+ times to hear the phone ring 12 times each call and then hang up. No one answers the phone. When back in WA, (in June) I stood in line (masked) with unmasked patrons (first time in a public place) to explain that we hadn't received mail for 3 months. I finally spoke with Annie (a postal worker). I explained that we were told by companies that our mail was being sent back to sender with no forwarding address, instead of being forwarded to the temporary address change we provided. I noted that people were sending bills we never received and they were about to send us to collection companies. Annie promised to talk with our carrier and to call us back with an update. Annie NEVER called. Nothing changed. Now, we've lost packages, birthday cards, checks, mail, and even our AZ postmaster can't reach the Redmond Post Office internal phone numbers and email address. Who supervises this post office? How can this happen? Someone there needs to be FIRED! My nightmare is that we won't be able to vote this year because WE NEVER GET OUR MAIL. read more

By far the worst employees. They stated they tried to reach my place twice when in reality never got out of their car since it was a bigger item saying I wasn't home.
