I typically drop off packages with prepaid labels, but this time around I needed to have my package weighed at the post office as I didn't have the appropriate scale at home, and he was very patient and re-walked me through the process. He even made sure to help me checkout which was nice. I wanted to make sure I provided a review as it can be rare to experience a friendly moment at a busy place like the USPS. The package was a little pricey but within the range I had in mind, thankfully. Overall, this is my go to location and I never have issues. Came here for a passport, made an appointment a WHOLE MONTH in advance. Such an obscure spot. There's just this random door on the building. You can ring the doorbell repeatedly and no one answers. A few minutes later, someone comes from the side of the building, asks if we have an appointment. We say yes, and she proceeds to say,"Phew! That's good!", then tells us the ONE person who does passports is on vacation for a week, and "someone" neglected to tell you. She offers to take our number and another "someone" will call us to help us reschedule. I'm going to bet that she is the one that neglected to make these calls in the first place. read more

discouraged by two other post offices in the South Bay, mind you at the Oxford post office super rude lady clerk!!! We were greeted at the River dale post office with a smile by Valerie Lopez. Right away she asked me if I had an appointment as she looked at her appointment list. I told her no, but my son needed a renewal and have been trying to book appointment on-line with no success since two months ago. Valerie values her customers as she went above and beyond her call of duty to accommodate the renewal of my son's passport. Valerie is super knowledgeable of the process and double checked application for completeness. She also is an expert in taking passport pictures! I made an appointment for my child's passport on Friday. Friday morning, someone from this post office called me and Valarie who is the person in charge of the passport is sick today so if you came, no one can help you. What??? I complained because I made this appointment over one month ago and my child's passport will be expired in 6 weeks. The lady said Valarie will call you next Monday to reschedule another appointment. I asked her if she didn't call me, what number I can call then she gave me the number. Valarie didn't call me on Monday so I called the number that I gave but never answered. Tuesday, I tried to call them but all calls were hang up. Then Wednesday, Valarie called me but I missed her call sadly but I called the number which Valarie left in a message. Now it said the office is closed today. I didn't expect the good service from them but I will not trust them. I should have read the review from Yelp. We will go to SDSU passport center. I had appointment schedule months out at this location on 11/30 @ 11:00am. I chose here because it was close to work and was able to make time to complete the passport process. When I arrived 15 minutes early, there was a sign on the door that said "Sorry for the inconvenience passport office close due to short staff" There was a lady on the side of the building who let us know the ONLY girl that knew how to do passports called out sick. She took my name and number down and said someone would call me. That's ridiculous. I work through the week and it just so happen I missed her call on a friday, she left a voicemail and said you call the number back and when I called back the number automated service said that I needed to call during business hours. After multiple attempts it was unsuccessful. Still to this day, I have not received a follow up call. An important event in my life, schedule appointment months before, just for nothing. Being a previous USPS employee, this is not how I would of handled this situation. read more

Wow, I get an emailed delivery attempt notification but I've been home all day and nothing has been attempted. I catch the mail delivery person down the street after calling all over town looking for my package. She says "Oh, I thought you had a mail hold put on your address. I didn't check the date". Um, that's for tomorrow's mail, I need today's mail today please! Don't say you delivered something when you didn't. Also carrier was leaving packages at random spots all over the apartment complex last week. Terrible service with people who don't use their noggins to think. I ordered some stuff from a company in GA. They mailed it to an address I had provided, which at the time (8am) they tried to deliver was unavailable. Right away, they resent the package back to sender. Upon notification, I went online and IMMEDIATELY scheduled for redelivery. According to the online status check, it was scheduled for next day. The package was still in San Diego so why not attempt a redelivery? Instead, they sent my package all the damn way back to GA, with a big FU and good luck. Now I have to wait twice the time for my package when a simple phone call, text, or email asking for an alternate address would have gotten the job done 4 days ago. On top of that, they wanted me to pay a "small fee" to intercept the package on the way back to sender. Man it's true common sense isn't so common anymore. Talk about awesome service- the employees are serious about package security.

Like others have said, they never answer their phone calls and then if you call enough, they take the phone off of the hook. I literally drove there and called from right outside and watched the woman behind the desk annoyingly take the phone off of the hook after ignoring my call and go back to READING. And the other guy in there with her did nothing about it and went on like it was business as usual. Absolute trash through and through. I called the postal annex in Shelter Island instead, even though they're significantly further away from me, they answered on the first try AND FIRST RING, and were incredibly nice and helpful. Go there if you have the option and aren't picking up a package that this annex probably didn't attempt to deliver in the first place! read more

I don't usually write reviews. But writing this one because they wasted my damn time & made me drive out there for no apparent reason. I'm in process of issuing a new passport card cuhs mine was recently stolen. Looked up passport acceptance facilities & decided to give this one a chance despite the bad reviews.. Worst mistake! I specifically called in to make sure so I didn't any issues upon arriving. Asked if they did passports there, in which they did.. The guy on phone told me to hold on, got back on the phone & reassured me that they did do passports there. He put me on hold again, & when he got back on the phone he said to swing by around 3-3:30pm. Ok, fast forwarding. I walk in & there's some girls talking. Whatever. There was no one at the front desk. An Asian/Filipino man came out, spoke to girls(workers) & was about to walk back to the back completely ignoring me!! Until I had to ask for the paperwork. He told me which one to get & proceeded to walk to the back before I can even finish speaking to him?! I asked him who am I suppose to speak to so I can submit my forms. He then said that they're not accepting passports because it's after 2pm. ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!? I told him, I specifically called in prior to 2pm & spoke to someone here & they SPECIFICALLY told me not to go in until 3-3:30pm!! I was so angry & agitated. I told him, someone here told me to come at this time. Asked him just to confirm if that location was the Riverfront Carrier Annex. He said yes, who did you speak to? Obviously someone there!! There isn't that many ppl there. Then he proceeded to tell me, "You had to make an appt anyways." I said, "Then so you mean to tell me you guys wasted my time?? & the drive out here?! That's the whole reason in which I called prior. You can't even take my paperwork? I have everything here. Front & back copies, picture, original documents. Everything." Then he says, "No, that's not what it says on the website." Then he walks off to the back. The audacity of this fucking old man. Smfh. What fucking website?!? Then an African American guy comes out & asks if I've been helped. He was really nice. I told him my situation & he was gonna walk to the back to call someone. I told him the Asian told me he couldn't do it. & he told me, "Are you sure? The Asian man said no? If he said no then we can't do anything cuhs he's the passport guy." Thanked him & walked out. This location does not sell anything other than passports. You can drop packages off only if they are pre paid/ labels by United States post office. This is the second time that I have written a bad Yelp review for the United States Postal Service. I received a certified mail post card in my mailbox indicating that I had to pick up my parcel or letter at the location not closest to my house (Adams) but the one down in Mission Valley. I head down there and hand my little salmon colored post card and this lone gent (not wearing a US Postal Service uniform) disappears for a few minutes and comes back and says "Your postman made a mistake there's nothing here for you.". Then he crosses out the address of the facility I was at and says "you have to go to Adams." Well...isn't that amazing?! I stood there and stared at him for a second then he went on to make a joke about how the postal carriers were "idiots" and "making trouble for him". I told him I wasn't amused and then he said "I'm going to call Adams and see if your item is there." He then dialed a number on his phone..I couldn't tell if it was on speaker or if anything even happened and then he said "They aren't answering.". He then tried to make another joke about how terrible postal workers were. I said that I wanted them to deliver my parcel, he smirked at me and said sure, "Just sign the card and leave it." How is it that we still have mail? And how is it that this is a postal office where apparently you cannot leave mail that it outgoing. Wishing you all much better luck. read more

This post office is where my mail person is. I used to love my mail guy but since this office took over I have had nothing but issues! They decided to put a hold on my mail when I was gone for a few days without asking. They did not notify me, they just stopped. When I got back in town and went to retrieve it they had returned all of it to the sender. Are you kidding me? No notice, no information on what was happening, and now I have to try to retrieve replacement credit cards because I had new ones coming in the mail from a theft. Come on. Also you can not ship anything from this location and if someone comes in before you for a passport get ready to wait because there is only one person handling both. read more

This place has the worst customer service ever. It's like they literally picked every sad pathetic soul to come work at this location. Unfortunately, I am forced to deal with this location since these are the people that service my mail route (sadly) Sooo... I usually get signature required items sent to the house all the time. On this particular day, I was expecting something important so I left a note in the mailbox letting the letter carrier that I would be home and to please knock on my front door when my letter arrived so I could sign for it. Well, no knock on the door, no pink slip left behind letting me know I needed to go in and sign for it which I thought was strange so I track my package online and it's being forwarded to Minnesota!?!?! WTF What the hell kind of dumbass letter carriers do they got running the show here? How did a simple request to knock on my door end up getting my blood pressure medicine forwarded all the way to Minnesota?? If I could leave zero stars I definitely would. They are thieves. Never pay for insurance. Missing gifts out of box sent by great grandma, 500.00 worth. Package was damaged put back together and they said they couldn't see any damage to the box so claim denied and my poor mon who is by far not wealthy is out 500.00. There were gift cards, clothing and small jewlery stolen. It seems funny that all of the stolen items were the adult items but all of the kids toys were still there. COMPLETE LIARS! Went out of town and received a notification that my contacts came in. But they alerted me saying they couldn't get into my apartment complex because they didn't have any way of getting in. Mind you my gates were recently removed because of COVID and I checked both of my RING camera systems and NO ONE EVER SHOWED UP! If you accidentally forgot to deliver to package just own up to it instead of lying about it. Mind you, I don't ever remembering mail men attempting to deliver a package at close to 7 pm.
