The ONE star goes to the ONE lady who was actually working throughout and being very helpful. Personally I have never been to a postoffice where the staff is sarcastic and quite rude. I suppose it was my "fault" that I did not bring enough tape to tape down my parcel, but the woman's attitude could have been MUCH nicer. Instead of commenting in that cocky tone when I asked if they had any tape available, "no, YOU need to bring your OWN tape, we dont have any." me: "sorry, i didn't bring any" her: "why?" (why?????) then she starts yelling over to her other co-workers, "you guys got some leftover tape?" what kind of post office doesn't offer tape? eventually, she shooed me outta line and made me line up again. good thing it wasn't half as busy as my regular post office. but yet, i will NEVER return here. dude, what is up with that woman? why pay her and raise our postage AGAIN? The tracking for an expensive package indicated it arrived at and was being held by the Linda Vista post office instead of 92104 (Northpark)... even though the shipper sent it to 92104 (it's the fucking zip I gave him, he wouldn't have used any other). The tracking site also said a note had been left. No note had been left. So, I call the post office at 92104. No answer. I go in person. They say, "Obviously it's got to be at Linda Vista so go there. It's not here." I go to Linda Vista: "It's not here. You're at the wrong post office, you should be at 92104 because that's where you live, duh." I explained what had led me there, but nobody would look. Two months later it returned to the shipper... it had been at the Linda Vista post office the whole time and was returned because "I never claimed it." Fuck these lazy pieces of shit. If they give you trouble, THROW IT BACK IN THEIR FACES. They have shitty attitudes they claim to have earned and haven't, so make sure they do earn it. They DO NOT answer the phone making it VERY difficult to track down the packages that are claimed to be delivery attempted. I see on the USPS website that delivery was attempted and notice left at my business. Someone was here 6am to 7pm that day and there is no slip anywhere. This is a repeat problem for our business and I have notified the property manager of the multistory commercial office building of the issue. Commitment to ones job or pride in ones work does not seem to be a priority here. read more

Today, my roommate called this US Post Office (2150 Comstock Street, San Diego, CA 92111) to inquire about passport information. Twice he was put on hold for over 10+ minutes. I know the second call was approximately 55+ minutes because he drove from our residence to the location to politely inform the staff they still had him on hold. He was asking for the process on passport information and was treated disrespectfully by the staff at this location. The staff told him he was to schedule an appointment and they were not able to process his paperwork (although everything was filled out, printed and only payment needed to be received). The lack of poor communication, disrespect among staff to customers and the overall lack-of-concern for telephone callers is appalling. This type of rude, unprofessional behavior should not be tolerated. read more

FYI....the Post Office will NOT refund you shipping costs if they lose your package unless you send the package EXPRESS MAIL. ALL other services (ground, First class) will not reimburse you. The postal service has to be the only service in our country whom we pay to provide a service and when they fail...the customer does not get reimbursed for the cost of that service. Shameful to say the least! Insurance only insures the contents, not your shipping fee. read more

I came here because the mail carrier that was "borrowed" from this location left a "we missed you" delivery notice at my house -- mind you, I live in Mira Mesa which has its own post office.. So I get to this office and give them the notice slip. They say they don't have my package and it's at the MM office. I asked why they would leave this slip at my house!?? Alex the clerk then raised his voice and I kindly asked for the MM office phone number and he said he doesn't have it. Lies. So then I talk to the manager and she's all apologetic and surprised that carrier Hector O left this slip incorrectly. Its never that busy here so if I'm in a rush, I'll make the trek over to Linda Vista and I'll usually walk right up to the counter. Ive never seen more than 4 cars out in the parking lot and you can practically hear a pin drop in the waiting area. Huh. Come to think of it, why is this post office so dead ? Its LV, its relatively safe. It used to be the acronym for Little Vietnam or Lao Village, but not anymore. Most of the people that I knew that lived here moved out of this hood.. If I could choose zero stars I would! This is the most useless post office! The mail carrier leaves a slip in the mailbox every time claiming they came by to drop off a package - however I am home all day and no one ever comes. If you fill out the online form for the package to be redelivered (even though an actual first attempt was never made) they won't do that either. It's impossible to get a package without physically going to the post office to pick it up. I ordered most of my holiday gifts online this year because I was on crutches and unable to drive --- yet because of their practices I had to arrange a ride to their office to pick up gifts. Ridiculous!! THEN after standing on crutches in the horribly long that typically plagues post offices around Christmas, the clerk has the nerve to be snippy to me. No matter the time of day or time of year there is a super long line with very disgruntled workers who are rude. read more

My experience with this post office has been incredibly frustrating. Long waits when I go to their physical location, missing important mail (including Kaiser medication that never showed up--thanks for nothing.) Don't go away for more than a few days or else they'll put a hold on your mail . . . even though 95% of the crap they stuff in your mailbox are just junk ad circulars. At least the third time that I have stayed home so I could sign for a package, only to get an email after the postman has left that says they couldn't deliver because it required a signature. That's why you're supposed to knock on the door! You'd think that lugging all the packages back to the post office would be more effort than knocking, which makes me wonder if sometimes they don't even take the packages out for delivery and just put the notice in your box. The service here is Ok. The supplies are a hit and miss. The people behind the desk aren't as friendly as they could be some days. I will say it could be because there aren't enough of them! There only ever seems to be 2 behind the desk. What would save time is a machine that can give you stamps automatically and a scale so we can calculate our own packages. Noralyn (I believe that was her name) was super helpful with some urgent documents I had to get mailed on a deadline. She gave me all my options and let me know where I could save money. Excellent! I have a priority mail in the parcel locker. But the key can't open it, and call and call again. No one answers it. The router ignores my message either in the outgoing mailbox or the sticker on the parcel locker. And I didn't get my amazon package either. I wonder they put these two box in the same locker. I mail a lot of packages to my husband and usually come here. They are always helpful and friendly. After coming in a few times, one of the ladies suggested I use the flat rate box. I had never heard of that. But I use them all the time now and it's saved me a ton of money. Last week one of the ladies went to find a tissue for my son when he needed to blow his nose. They keep the lines moving, so you're in and out of there pretty quick. read more

I love the LV Post Office, not just because it's *right* next to work. It's also a friendly, large location with efficient, helpful staff and it's delightfully well-lit. Also, if ye need a post box, or a passport, this is your stop in the area. It's a newer looking space, although apparently it's been around since 1990, as the dedication plate has "President George Bush" on it (these were days before the middle initial was deemed necessary!). Those who have lamented the hastened decline of the US Post should take heed. It is no wonder that people prefer to transact electronically or have packages delivered by reliable private carriers, such as FedEx or UPS. I could swear that our carrier (again, apts. across from IKEA in Mission Valley) is high on something--like out of a Cheech and Chong movie. Making things worse, they've fumbled in the worst way with an important package. For whatever reason, one cannot leave things with the office or at the door, and will not redeliver. So starts the journey to the Linda Vista Post Office. Most of the staff is kind, but of course, I'd be the one to get the slowest and most ambivalent. Can't find your package. Don't know where it is. Give us a number and we'll call. Apologies? No. I guess that is why there were always jobs at the post office in case one was not able to do anything else. So, no buying anything shipped USPS any longer. What a shame. read more

I've been waiting for a package that I ordered July 4th. My tracking told me it was out for delivery July 14th. It's July 25th and I still don't have my package. I called the place that delivered it and they said on their end hey can see that it was out for delivery then returned to this post office and it's probably still sitting there. For no reason. I don't need a signature for this package. I've been trying to call this place ALL day to make sure it's there. No answer. My wife and I live in Denver Colorado and we are moving to San Diego at the end of September. We also just got married. Social Security, as well as our local post office and new apartment complex in San Diego told us we had to call this specific post office and explain our situation: we just got married and we had to send my wife's actual drivers license, birth certificate, social security card, and marriage license to social security through certified mail because they aren't doing in person services, so she had to mail these original documents. We were advised to put our new address as the return address since it takes a few weeks to process. The name on our new lease is her maiden name since we signed the paperwork for the apartment before we got married. All we are trying to do, which is what we were told to do by social security is call this post office to tell them to hold her mail (maiden name and new last named mail) there until we get there. The woman who answered the phone didn't let me finish talking and explain what we were trying to ask. She was the rudest person we have ever encountered. BUT WAIT we asked to speak to someone who isn't going to take out their bad day on us, preferably a manager, and she puts us on "hold" which was really her just putting the phone on the counter with us listening to what they are saying. Not only did she leave us on "hold" and then never returned to the call, she called my wife a BITCH for asking for a manager. This woman didn't let me get a word out and had no idea what we were even asking. She assumed we were trying to change our info over the phone which isn't at all what we were trying to do. We just wanted to be told what exactly are we supposed to do! That's it! But she wouldn't know that because she sighing on the phone and talking over me! We don't live in San Diego yet, but we will never be showing up to this post office. We really hope the United Stated postal services makes the correct decision by firing this insanely rude and attitude-filled lady who clear has never worked in customer service a day in her life. Her name might be Maureen, but we aren't sure, that was a name we heard as they were all conversating while we waited. Regardless, she is rude and never helped us and the other reviews for this place are clearly terrible so why would this place still be staffed with these incompetent, rude, people?! read more

She looked like she just took the last bite of a sandwich while running her tongue through out her mouth.She then pulled the closed window sign away and just looked at the next customer. I've been here everyday for the past week to get mail for a commercial office building that I rent out to people because I've asked multiple times if someone can come and install the mailbox locks and nobody has came by. It shouldn't take this long. I came by again today to mail something out and pick up the mail and the lady there was telling me she couldn't give me that mail because I didn't have authorization even though I've been here every day for a week and had no problem. I told her to get her manager and after about 5 minutes she comes back with the mail and doesn't say a word and then walks away. This post office is always busy! I'm just glad the people that work there are extremely nice and always smiling when assisting somebody with their postal needs! Theres also a line of mail boxes outside the facility for those who just want to drive & drop off their mail- I love the idea of just being able to drive by and drop off mail, how efficient is that! (kudos to whoever invented that) As for parking here- it shouldn't be a hassle! Theres plenty of parking. read more

I like this location because the parking lot is huge, so you don't have to worry about door dings or traffic jams. This place can get packed (like most USPS locations) but they have fast and efficient workers. If you send EDDM mailers to Mission Valley, then you're forced to come here. read more

This post office is possibly the slowest in San Diego. I had a pink slip to pick up a simple package(you would think 20 minutes max), and it took 45 minutes. I went through the line twice and the two ladies working kept telling me to wait over there by the wall. The line was long and they had no since it urgency to get people on their way. Good thing the gentlemen working this morning helped me get my package after I was pushed back and told to go to window 1. That would have been nice to know the first time I went through the line. The two ladies there were rude, period. Like I said before the one gentleman there was actually doing a good job this morning. To expand on my previous review, I'd like to provide more details about the atrocities of my experience at this post office. Previously, it was just too upsetting for me, but it needs to be told. I have a small service dog. He is a well behaved, trained and registered service animal. He is a small 7 lb Chihuahua, and he goes everywhere with me. I always carry him and he is always well behaved and quite. In fact, the only time he barks is when he senses something from me that indicates the onset of a seizure. When he alerts me I am able to protect myself by sitting down on the ground and away from other objects and people. Without him a seizure could occur with no warning and I could fall and injure myself. It's scary, and embarrassing, and very real. And just having him with me and that peace of mind gives me courage to go out and do things like normal, such as going to the post office. Except when I visited this location (it was about 2 blocks from my home at the time) I was shocked and sickened by how the employees behaved. After waiting in line, I approached the counter. No one had even noticed my service dog held in my arm until then, that's how small and quiet he is. But the "lady" at the counter told me I needed to leave because pets were not allowed. I politely told her it was alright, he is not a pet, he is a service animal. She "informed" me that he was not because he did not have a vest. I politely advised her that service animals are not required to wear a vest, and they are not required to have any identifying markings or badges. She continued to scold me. I told her that just because I have a disability, I am not required to visually tag myself so that everyone that sees me will know I am not normal, just so I can stand in line at the post office. It's already embarrassing enough as it is. I deserve to be treated like anyone else. Her voice raised as she continued yelling that I was a liar and refused to look at the documentation I had in my wallet (service dog registry ID and doctors notice). Shocked by how hostile this person was, I informed her "I'm not one to file a lawsuit, but the next person she harasses may be." She looked at me right in the eyes with a smirk and arrogantly said "Try it." I told her she was acting in direct violation of Federal Law. She claimed that the post office was above Federal Law. Seriously. Eventually, after being humiliated in front of everyone in the lobby, she took my package that I was shipping and told me that she wanted me to understand that next time she would not serve me. Mysteriously, my package never arrived at its destination. About a month later I had to return to this location because I didn't have time to drive across Clairemont to a different post office before they closed. Nervous and scared, I decided to return because I had a shipment that needed to be rush shipped that day. I was standing in line, quietly minding my business and waiting my turn. This time the manager of this post office saw me holding my quiet little service dog while he was helping another customer. He began yelling at me from behind the counter. He was so angry that it was difficult to understand what he was saying. He was telling me that only seeing-eye dogs were allowed in the lobby. He then came around the counter and began to physically remove me from the post office, pushing me out the door. I said he was mistaken regarding the rules, and he assured me it was written in the statement of rules on the wall, I managed to break free and ran to the rule sheet on the wall and began to read it out loud to him. It made no such statement as he had claimed. By this time both of us were yelling while everyone else in the lobby, customers and employees watched in silence. He approached me and tried to grab me and remove me again. I asked him for his name and he refused to give it, so I ran to the counter asking the clerk to give me the managers name and she refused as well. I left and went home, and was still trembling an hour later. I am still disgusted with how blind and mean they were, and I'm also saddened and disappointed by how all those other customers in the lobby could stand there and not say anything. They just quietly watched me get yelled at and refused service and then dragged out of the building, while they stood in line to send out there packages. Looking back, as stressful as it would have been, I wish I would have sued the s#!t out of that place, simply to prevent the next disabled customer from having to experience that treatment from these horrible people. I hope justice, karma, or whatever serves them right. read more

Really great neighborhood post office. Employees seem to really be interested in customers and not just trying to sell you a book of stamps. They know all the regulars and I've heard them asking about kids/parents/family events. Even when there's a line it goes quickly.... I'm irritated when I have a package prepaid for delivery but I still have to wait in an endless line with only one or two Postal Workers working behind the counter. Then there is the customer who brings in her multiple packages to have them packaged by the postal worker. Kick them out of line and tell them to come back when they are ready to ship the already packaged package. Unions are the reason the Post Office is such a losing organization, in addition it is a governmental business. (Heaven help us) Just look at our state and federal governments. read more
