Someone named Siesha who says she's a "manager" at the Mendell Post Office put in an "urgent" request for a lock repair which belongs to the USPS on June 25th and no repair. It's now been 18 days and our mailbox door is wide open. Anyone has access to about 10-12 people's mail. UNBELIEVABLE! And now she doesn't answer any texts or the phone. read more

Done Then I look up the hours, not only does this garbage place have the most limited hours I've ever seen for a post office but it's not even open on Saturdays! Amazing people! I was trying to track down a package and catch it before it was delivered to my address. This is a distribution center, not a postal office. The supervisor and his staff went out of their way to locate the parcel, which was already on a truck to be delivered. tracking say delivered but it's not. They gave me a number to call which is always busy. The package was mailed 6/14 and it took until 7/23 to deliver it according to the tracking. But it wasn't delivered. I expect more from the USPS. Somehow you can pay for a service that they don't render and you have no recourse. No refund nothing. They are not accountable. I oversee several residential properties, one of which has been having issues in receiving the mail. The folks at my local Sutter St office sent me to 550 Townsend to address the issue, who then sent me to the Mendell location. I can not believe this is considered a place of business. The front door was locked during business hours, neither doorbell solicited any response, the phone number online rang and rang with no answer, and the people that work at the bank next door said you need to 'knock hard and pray they hear you'. I left after 10 minutes of hard knocking and no assistance. I'm left wondering how in the world this could be the SF HQ that is to address issues regarding service if there is no way to contact them?! read more

I dropped by to pick up my package here for the very first time today, absolutely terrible customer service. I rang the door bell a couple of times and waited for about ten minutes until I had to knock in order to get someone's attention from inside. Finally a man opened the door to me. I told him I was here to pick up my package and he kept asking me what's the zip code. My package had been intercepted to this center apparently so I had multiple zip codes, my address, the zip code from the tracking. I just told him all of them. He told me to go wait at the blue door in a sketchy area and a supervisor would come to me. I'd expected at least an estimate of how long I'd wait or for anyone to even come ask for my tracking number. Nothing. I doorbelled and knocked, and no one even wanted to get the door. I was wearing a mask and i had my tracking number ready. After a while, i realized I'd been waiting for so long that I went back to the front door and knocked again. I was just trying to talk to someone!!!! I made a long trip to get to this center that's not anywhere near my original address. I even called their phone about 5-6 times and no one answered. Oh but there sure is a bunch of cars parked everywhere so that makes so much sense to why no one responded! The fact that I was told to go wait and the only man who passed by the halls of this center clearly refused to talk is ridiculous. I've been waiting weeks to see what would happen and nothing!!!! I will have to change my opinion once I received the package after the visit. It wasn't a short trip, but the two supervisors did listen to what I had to say, told me what the problem was, and then left each other the message with the updated infos so that the package would be re-shipped for a proper arrival. I searched and saw what people gave here as a review, but I have to say after a couple of visit they didn't leave me out in the open with no solution or action. If you call the National Usps number and they tell you your package is here then they may be wrong. I live in 94107 and my package was at 460 Brannan post office. Also this place is only open M-F 9am - 1pm. And you have to go to the sketchy looking unmarked side door. Just pull open the door, the buzzer doesn't work. read more

Here's the experience someone from our HOA management company had trying to find out what was going on with our building's mail delivery. "I visited the post office yesterday, but was not able to actually speak to someone who could give me any information. I arrived at the office located at 151 Mendell Street. who delivers mail to 150 Powell HOA, and the door was locked. I knocked and rang a bell several times, no one answered. I then was advised from their neighboring building to go to the main office just a block away. I went there and was told I was not in right place and to go back to 151 Mendell and keep knocking. I went back, kept knocking, and someone came to the door. They advised me that was not a customer entrance and I would have to go around to the other side to speak with the supervisor. I went around, and walked into the parking lot. I found an open door and poked my head in. I spoke with a gentleman who directed me to the supervisor who was at her desk nearby. She immediately became irate with the employee and me and yelled at me to "GET OUT!" She rushed me outside the building and said I was not allowed there and was trespassing on government property. She was very unpleasant and unwilling to help me in any way. She said I needed to call. I let her know that no one answers the phone. This is probably one of the worst usps shipping centers in San Francisco if not the United States. My employer mailed a W-2 out last week and should've arrived on Saturday, now it's Wednesday and ALL my co-workers have received their W-2 except me. I found out this is the shipping center that handles my mail and/or packages before getting mailed to my house. I called several times and no answer. I believe they either lost the w-2 or someone stole it to get my social security number. I might have to go with electronic w-2 with my employers or I will never get a chance to do my taxes. read more

I'd give these ne'er-do-wells zero stars, or negative stars if it was possible. Anticipating travel, I initiated a hold-mail order to be picked up upon my return. When we returned, no one could find any mail. Turns out, according to a manager there, that "my regular carrier was hurt", and the temp guy never got the message, delivered some, the rest was all returned to sender. Then, anticipating a longer stint of travel, I initiated (and paid for) a Premium Forwarding Service request. No mail was forwarded, although labels were printed and I was charged an initiation fee and two weeks of forwarding. When I called Mendell Carrier Annex, my route manager (not the same as the other manager) said "my regular carrier was hurt" and the temp guy never got the message (this is the stock answer -- truth is they just don't care, don't follow orders, don't bother to read hold-mail or PFS orders (suspect they can't read at all, actually), and don't do their jobs. Now no one knows where any of my mail is, including important financial material, and they don't care, won't trace it, shrug it off like it's no big deal. And they wonder why they're circling the drain. Worst. People. Ever. I finally get why Trump was elected. Because of government service like this. read more

If there were 0 stars I would definitely have chosen than. This place is ridiculous. I guess we can't fight the USPS due to their size and government involvement, but man is it crappy to know I likely wont see my package that was supposed to be delivered 12 days ago!!!
