I come here quite regularly due to work projects that need to done. With this USPS being relatively close by, this location automatically gains points simply for convenience. Coming here used to be pleasant and that certainly isn't the case now. The staff is very short, unfriendly, and they are quick to turn you away without resolving patron's issues. Each and every visit always consists of at least one unhappy|frustrated customer interaction. I miss the previous faces I used to come across. They were always warm and smiling. It is so unfortunate that visiting here resembles a visit to the dmv- slow and unfriendly service. Meh. read more

It is what one would expect from a post office. My only criticism is that they restricted the front door hours and that limits when people with post office boxes can collect their mail. They had to do this because some people were taking advantage of the ability to get shelter in the lobby overnight. It would be nice if they had a key system for post office box holders to get access into the lobby to get their mail. The line for dropping off packages and other services at the counter can get along, especially during holiday periods. read more

This post office location used to open 24 hours at the lobby such that people can get their mail after hour and holiday. However, after COVID, they changed the rule such that the lobby were locked after hours. This caused major inconvenience USPS! I hope the lobby will open again at previous hours which is 24 hours a day 365 days a years! The staff are the highlights of this store such that they are professional and family. I rarely visited post office before the pandemic. But I just started a small business for online cooking classes. I have to ship the cooking kit after I sold the class. Usually I have to ship from 10-100 kits each time, and took off all of the Dropping Off Space in the post office. And then one time I asked for the help to custodies, one nice gentleman, he brought out a hamper to my car. After few times, Supervisor Art, he drove a nice truck to my place and loading 100 kits back to post office. But I know holiday seasons is coming now, the post office is busier than ever, so I call for my personal drop off schedule every time. I dropped off my packages in Sunnyvale post office and Mountain View post office few times before, but no one's service spirit is the same like our friendly Hillsdale Post Office. Worst service ever when it comes to a post office. Workers are completely useless and offer no solutions to a help resolve a situation they caused. Don't get money orders here if you want to be called poor and have your documents held while they try to horribly manage the situation. This is the closest post office to my house. The wait here is always ridiculously long. There always seems like there's not enough staff. Hence the minus one star. I don't ship or mail out things often but the staff here have always been nice and helpful to me and they've been here a long time. I highly recommend this post office and the super helpful and efficient staff especially Carlo who is a supervisor there. I had a very important package that I needed to receive at a certain time/day given my schedule. Carlo promptly put a hold on my mails and was able to intercept my package and hand delivered it to me at the post office. I was sent a gift for Mother's Day from my daughter on may 2nd. It shipped in a timely manner we got on our daily informed mail that a package was coming with a tracking number and a time to expect it which changed throughout the day well it never came then it updated to the next morning ,once again no package then it was afternoon update again no package,it went on for days then come to find that it was sent to Bakersfield we are in San Jose it said incorrect address yet I clearly saw the right one then it was off to Sacramento well who knows why then to be delivered here to me well it never came , so looking again at tracking history it was sitting again in Bakersfield then on its way to Sacramento AGAIN this package had traveled across California at least twice however this morning as it's May 20th it was in Bakersfield again then it ended up in the city my daughter lives in at the post office how it got there I have no clue then during this day it was delivered to her door almost 3 hours away from here , now to finish this long travel history of someone's gift I got an email from USPS saying my package was delivered to me at my San Jose address and it was delivered to my daughters house three hours away in central California and she took a picture of my gift and showed it to me. I had to ship two padded customer return envelopes and the worker at the front desk returned the packages both times to my house and made me pay an extra fee. I am an experienced online seller and have never had problems elsewhere. Terrible people at the front desk. Maybe they need a vacation at the beach or just fly away. read more

Do NOT use the kiosk here to print stamps. First, the machine lets you select up to 100 stamps but then does not allow you to spend over $25 on one credit card (I bought postcard stamps, $0.35 each, so $35 total). I try to use my debit card, but the machine won't read it. So, I buy 71 stamps, the most I could buy for under $25. Then, the machine prints them ONE AT A TIME. It is an excruciatingly long process in which there is a 5 second delay between each stamp being printed... 71 times. Why would the kiosk not provide sheets or books of stamps? Why print them live? So, now I am left 29 stamps short, having wasted a lot of time, and I still have to cut EACH stamp off the large sticker sheet they are printed on. Lots of waste!! read more

These people are very snobby. Feel disappoint about that. My mails was throw away. They never arrived to the destination. I wondered why? Be careful with your mails. Make sure they don't see you or they will throw away your mails for no reason. Maybe because I'm colored?? I will always support USPS. While the staff at the desk maybe pleasant and helpful the mail carriers are not. Multiple times I have had packages "delivered" when they weren't. Video surveillance proves the case. When inquiries are sent bs responses about how my package was scanned and delivered are received. If you care about your mail go somewhere else. read more

The only good part of my trip to this post office today was that I thought they opened earlier than they did so I was first in line.Then my smile quickly faded as the female clerk proceeded in a very know-it-all way to school me in the ways that I had prepared my overseas packet.Initials aren't allowed apparently,so fair enough,but I didn't need the side order of disdain that went with it. This post office is my home post office and a little gem in the United States Postal Corporation. DONNA has been running that counter like a boss for over 10 years. Not only does she move like lighting, but she can multi-task like a stock trader. It is her typical practice to be retrieving parcels while a guest fills out a form, and also fields questions from confused guests in line or looking for a product in between those tasks. She knows all the forms, options, regulations, and can eye an item for box size across the lobby. She also does ALL this with a kind and patient attitude, and a smile. She even finds time to help guests get just the right book of stamps for their letters or cards. If the lobby kiosk could be as reliable as DONNA is, the efficiency of this post office would excel. read more

The people working the actual post office store are very nice and helpful, which is why they got 2 stars at all. but whoever delivers the mail in my area is all over the place: -it seems to be a different person delivering to us all the time -sometimes it comes at 10am sometimes 6pm, which is very late. if i'm waiting for a check or important document to take somewhere by 5 I can kiss that goodbye a lot of the time. -some days it just doesn't come at all - we have multiple people who live here and one of us gets at least one package/letter/junk mail/etc every day. then a bunch of stuff will come the next day after a day of no delivery - how about that. -I paid for a 2 day priority package with a delivery date of today, but it never made it to the house with the rest of our mail and appears to be stuck on the truck. The tracking went from our local sort facility to out for delivery, then back to the sort facility and as of right now (9:30 pm) it still says out for delivery. No way if it still on it's way. So now that means it probably won't be here until monday - 2 days after it's 2 day delivery date. Why did I pay extra at that point - why not just use first class if it's going to take that long anyway? Update: it took a full week to get my two day priority shipment. The manager here straight lied to my face about where it was several times. I was then told that two day doesn't mean two day, and I had to pay extra for two day priority EXPRESS for it to be guaranteed in two days. So one has an extra word in it, probably so they can trick people. -Packages are often scanned as being delivered but don't actually make it until the next day. This is so it's not marked as being late. As far as the system knows it's been delivered on time, but really it hasn't. This happened with an amazon delivery and the item NEVER made it despite being scanned as delivered. So amazon said sorry, you're SOL, our system shows it made it to your house. Thanks USPS. -They've also brought packages of mine to the neighbors house by accident several times. I also receive neighbors mail pretty regularly. Which isn't a big deal, but it happens a lot which is not instilling confidence. Anyway, like I said the people who work in the store are great. The delivery itself however is lacking. Update: I missed a delivery (which is nonsense because someone was home) and the slip said to pick it up the next day anytime after 9am. I went there and it's actually not open until 10am today. Even the people working there don't know what time they open. I work 10-2, the exact hours they're open today so now I have to wait until Monday for a delivery I missed Friday. Oh but wait, Monday is a holiday so now I've gotta wait 4-5 days total. Great. Update 2: Twice in the last two weeks a package has been delivered to my neighbor instead of me and marked as delivered. One was worth quite a bit of money, it's unacceptable to have them constantly going to the wrong house. This happens probably once a month or so at this point. Down to one star they go. read more

I would have to first say, I know this post office has been around for a while and the service is good quality, but what I found interesting is how run down this location is, yes they seam to maintain the faculty but it is showing it's age. The employees compared to other offices are very nice and friendly, they get you going as fast as their system allow you to. If you need a letter or package mailed then this locations a good place to drop it off at, they will make sure it is delivered. read more

I really love my mailman. He's friendly, and I trust him. The mail is not normally something you think about, until it goes wrong... but it doesn't as long as my guy is on the job. I'll have to get his name, and for sure I'll be contacting his boss to let him know he deserves a raise! I buy a lot of stuff on fleabay, and he brings me packages with a smile. After having issues a few months ago with my outgoing mail being not delivered I started to hand drop my outgoing mail this USPS office. Last week I mailed two checks at the same exact time. One was delivered without failure, the second one went MIA. It's frustrating as I've never had issues with the USPS until I moved to this office's service area. Edit: My check finally arrived to its destination... it only took 10 days. (the destination address is also in San Jose). The envelope looked all beat up and appears to have gotten stuck in a machine or on the floor of the truck or something. In any case, taking 7 days longer than expected to deliver a check is frustrating and unfortunately cost money to rectify. To elaborate more on my previous issue with this USPS office: One of my previous rent checks was delivered to the wrong PO Box, it should have gone to a box in San Jose, instead it ended up in Austin Texas? The company at the Texas PO box mistakenly (illegally?) deposited the check which required me to fill out a police report and open a dispute with my bank. Awe...I've always liked the people at this post office. They are quick with the line and normally have the fun flowery type stamps I like. The drop boxes in the front are super convience too. I've used this post office for over 22 years and they've been great. I ship out packages every other day, so I'm there ALOT! The staff is excellent. Only once did I have an issue and that wasn't their fault. Some crook broke into the stand alone package container and stole all the packages. And.....this needs to be mentioned when "I" make a mistake on one of my shipments they've been wonderful to work with and never have made me feel like a dope. read more

I came in the evening, a week before Christmas. Expecting pure chaos I was pleasantly surprised. I had the usual packages to send out but then I also had a special request. Regardless of how busy they were, they went above and beyond to help me out. It was a huge weight off my shoulders! I did not get the names of the gentlemen who helped me. I wish I could give zero star for this location. I had my USPS tracking number and I asked the lady ro track it to see if my package is there I can pick it up. She refused to do that saying that this is a third party package and you have to wait to get your package in your mailbox!!! She was obviously avoiding me to not doing her job. I have to give a big shout out to Rick! I mistakenly left off my unit number on my address,and was expecting a package of masks. I received notification from the company that due to the insufficient address the masks would be returned to the company. It took me 3 weeks to receive it so I panicked. I'd give a zero stars if possible. I got a p.o. Box on Thursday. An important document( my truck title) was certified mailed on Friday to be delivered Monday. No delivery Monday. Tuesday: I go to this office. The lady who handles the p.o. Box applications hasn't been to work in about a week. No one did the work. My title was delivered but name wasn't on the box even though I had the keys, paid six months, and turned in the paperwork into a postal employees hands. They have no idea where it is, but hope it is being returned to sender. No one took the initiative to check why a certified letter would arrive in my name. Not to mention the 40+ minutes I waited when I got the box and the 40+ minutes I waited to get an explanation. They could turn very costly since I needed to register my truck by Friday and I can only hope to get it back by next week. Total disappointment. They did offer a refund but that's not what I want. I want people to do their jobs and I want my truck tiltle to register my truck in California and not drive around with expired tags. No Bueno. No Bueno at all. read more

Supervisor is a nasty guy which you never want to deal with him because he doesn't listen and understand what you are talking about. Post office should GET RID of him and hire some useful and helpful people to serve better customer service. Also Post office should inspect this location because all our important mails are getting lost. they are not organized and always mixed up the mails. read more

The post office in my neighborhood is the one on Meridian and Hamilton. It's OK, but can get really crazy. Whenever I'm in this neighborhood and need to use the post office I come to this one. The employees are super nice, and there never really seems to be a line. On the plus side, they seem to empty the self-serve package container very regularly. Nothing worse than going in there to mail a package and you can't get it in the box. Even on the weekends it's always easy. read more

The tellers are nice and friendly, and the lines move quickly. I still give them 1 star because of the mail carriers. It takes FOREVER for them to deliver packages at least 50% of the time. Many times they mark the package as "delivered" when it's not, and when I call to inquire, they tell me it was probably stolen and to go to the police. A few days later, the packages arrive. One day I got to the bottom of it after I had a chat with our mail carrier; seems they mark the packages as being delivered when they get them as they plan to deliver that day. Unfortunately it often takes them longer to deliver. I wish there was someone to turn to to investigate this! read more
