When you need help in person, there is hardly ever anyone at the front to help. There's a bell to ring, but it's questionable how long you will stand there & wait for someone to come from the back to help. And Heaven help you if you try to call this post office for anything. 99% of the time, no one answers. Mail may or may not come, & we often have things say they will be delivered but then it doesn't arrive for days. Overall, this post office & the workers are unreliable, understaffed, & unprofessional. read more

A month later and still no mail!! A person not even a resident from that address put in a request to get mail forwarded to them in Sacramento. Contacted both post offices both said we would get the mail since it's a different name. Nope!!! We mailed out test envelopes and still Nothing not even coupons. Great service by Sonia! I had a little confusion over a package hold at this usps location due to custom fees. The package was in the process of being shipped back because I was late to pick it up. Went today to request a rekey on my mailbox. Lady at the fromt was very helpful. They open at 9am Mon-Saturday. To rekey it costs $35 and will take some time. Since it is not a retail office, they do not take credit cards; bring cash. read more

Modify the delivery dates of packages, scan them at the mail office as "delivered", but deliver it one or two days later. This office does this to improve their Wall-mark and Amazon delivery statistics, but tempering with delivery date is a felony. I have video footages of those events. read more

This review is for the letter carrier named Chris. This guy held my mail at the post office without a single letter, notification nor my consent. He's alleging that he did it because he saw me walking with my dog (20 pounds. ) from my house to my car without a leash. He threatened my neighbor to pepper spray his dog as well. Timmy is the guy on my route. Due to an accident I am able to occasionally see Timmy at work and while I will always say thank you to people that do work like this..Timmy is my exception...after my apartments mailboxes are filled is when I check my mail and since I get informed Usps (since being a victim to a misplaced debit card from another carrier) I know how it goes they send you a picture of the mail you are receiving that day..well on two occasions my paycheck was not in my mail box shortly after they were filled I was able to ask the driver since he was only at the neighboring apartments he told me there are system delays so I go to jot down the truck number and on both of those two occasions he was able to show me the exact apartment complex he did leave my mail at...(strange if it's a delay issue) and now it just keeps happening and only to my paychecks or bills.... The sad part is that I have gone to complain about this guy and to get my mail on hold the first couple of days of my mail hold I go to check and the clerk tell me that Timmy didn't want to listen to her..... I think Timmy needs a new job because I shouldn't have to move to another area code get my all of my mail delivered to me... I'm not sure if it's my sexuality or race that bothers Timmy so much but I really hope some form of management steps in. Because of the name it's also referred to by my co-workers and I as the "Dirty Sanchez" post office. There are actually really no consumer services here except for a stamp machine and they'll take outgoing mail that's already been postage marked. The complex is this huge warehouse and it's surrounded by barb wire. I thought at first I'd wandered into some top secret government facility and was ready to be chased out by armed guards. Probably a big sort facility or some other less glamorous function. Anyways, if you're stuck in this industrial area of Santa Clara you can still manage to pay your bills... read more

Came by yesterday to pick up a missed package delivery. Service was quick- literally walked in, handed in my card and ID, and received my box, all within a minute or two. Not sure why I even turned off my car! Careful when you're driving here for the first time- depending on the direction, you may not see the post office signage until you've already passed the entrance, and will need to double back. read more

Still stand behind my previous review. And as I am checking other reviews for this location most people get disappointed to find out this is not retail location. And if you have pre paid package you can drop off here. But if you have any issues with mail delivery tracing package this is the place. I had package sent to me that required signature no one was home and I had to pick up in person. Lady over the phone was friendly and knowledgeable. I was late two minutes after closing 4:00pm . Tis' the holiday season and I am more than aware that the influx of packages and deliveries during this time of the year is a total nightmare. That being said, I am still 100% dissatisfied with the help I received here. I ordered an item from Amazon and on the day it was supposed to be delivered, I get a notification that said my address was incorrect and thus my item could not be delivered. After checking my order, I see that my address is INDEED CORRECT. Feeling the first tendrils of annoyance travel up my spine already, I call up this office and ask them about my package. I talk to a man (whose name I did not get) and tell him that my address is correct and subsequently ask if they could deliver it again. He then asks me if I could pick up the package instead. Considering I live quite close to this place, I thought it wasn't such a bad idea and that I could get off of work a couple of hours early since this place closes at 4 pm. Not to mention, it would be nice to help those poor mail carriers out by giving them one less package to deliver. I get to the post office at around 3:45 pm and give my tracking number to the lady at the counter. By the way, this place looks extremely run-down. Their "office" is a true hole-in-the-wall kind of place with dingy walls and a lopsided counter. A good sprucing-up is definitely needed. Anyway, she goes to the back to get my package and after 10 minutes of searching, she tells me it isn't there. ARE. YOU. FREAKIN'. KIDDING. ME? Two things that drove me off the deep end: firstly, if your carrier does not know how to find an apartment/complex, there must be a better system for him/her to indicate that because NOT KNOWING WHERE THE PLACE IS and declaring INCORRECT ADDRESS are two entirely different situations! Blaming it on the customer is highly infuriating because the address was actually right! Secondly, the man at the post office asked ME to come and pick it up, and when I take time out of work to come and get it, I EXPECT THE PACKAGE TO BE THERE. Is that really so much to ask for? I've experienced that my requests of hold mail via web page does not performed by USPS office. Each time I request/change from USPS web site, I got confirmation email for these transaction. This office employee give me feeling they are not following them. 1) USPS delivered mail, instead of hold request. 2) USPS fail to deliver after cancellation of 'hold mail', until I contacted USPS office. I want to place complain to USPS because multiple time that below employees of below USPS office location did not follow request via USPS web page. But I could not find where to submit, so writing yelp. Tonny in this office, when I spoke with him, he said he did not aware of hold mail saying he does not see the card, said I did not place hold mail request. I DO have confirmation # in email from USPS web site! He is referring old way, by paper, not web. F*** up and move up with this place. The Filipino lady and the older white guy I think his name is John are awesome. Can't say much for the rest of the staff especially the middle aged Indian "manager." He'll threaten to call the cops on you if there is a disagreement with a customer instead of trying to handle the situation. **Back story** I witnessed one of my packages being thrown and kicked by their carrier. I initiated contact with the carrier and asked his name. He refused to give it to me. Odd, but whatever. No big deal I thought I could explain it to someone at my local PO. No joy, they didn't want to hear anything of it except we'll move the carrier to another route. Nice way to solve a problem. Later that week one of my replacement AMEX cards was mailed to me with the envelope missing and my card exposed (not in a sleeve that the post office usually does and apologizes for mis-handling of a letter). Real secure huh? So I brought my envelope or lack there of and showed the manager he instantly became defensive and threatened to call the cops because I told him he was being rude and unprofessional. I asked for the postmaster, "he's not available, but I'm going to call the cops if you don't leave." Great tactic to defuse a situation in which you escalated. My tone, mannerisms and volume were actually quite low since he didn't do the right thing and pull me inside an office. This happened in front of other patrons which even compelled one person to make a comment to the "manager" about how unprofessional he is being. So to revert back to the two other employees. After the manager left and as I was walking away frustrated he apologized on the manager's behalf and the other lady thanked me for being so calm even after I had the cops threatened to be called on me. They earned the extra star, definitely not who's running the place. A lot of training needs to be done in customer service with their supervisors. My how far you've fallen USPS... Surrounded by barbed wire the grey brick building doesn't scream "Post Office" but instead hints at some high security level military compound. However, I always pick up my international packages here so I'm used to the military feel of this location. They don't sell envelopes, stamps, and they don't accept most mail. It's mostly a pick-up location. Customer service is pretty slow and I often have to ring the bell a few times before someone comes to help me. Once someone finally comes to assist me I'm usually out the door pretty quickly. The only time I've seen someone take a long time here was a woman who's package was crushed during delivery and she couldn't get the manager to help her with the damages. I have a PO Box but I can't use a PO box and I can't use my own address because no one will be home. The boxes at our apartment have been severely vandalized, so we have to pick up our mail here while they reconstruct our boxes. Since I can only come here on the weekends, I've been here four times in the last four weeks (which is an insane amount of time to wait for boxes to be installed, and we've got at least two more weeks to wait, but that's a different review altogether). The location isn't THAT hard to find, especially if you use Google Maps to find it. There's usually just one person working the desk, and you usually have to ring the bell to get their attention. They're also usually dealing with phone customers too. The place is bare-bones and looks like a prison or military facility. No stamps, no boxes, no outgoing mail (although a sign says that they'll take your outgoing mail if it's already stamped). The staff seems to be fairly nice, occasionally they'll be a little terse, but considering the workload they seem to have that's understandable. Once, the gentleman gave me--out of nowhere--a restaurant recommendation. I wish I could remember what it was, it sounded nice. Basically, it's a place to get stuff done. You won't feel like royalty, but you won't wait an eternity to get your mail. read more

I don't seem to have problem with this USPS office. When we have to collect registered mail or parcel, we don't see to have any problem. yes, they are open only at 9.00 am. It get busy in the morning when everyone goes to pick up their mail or package before going to work so just be smart and come after lunch. They don't sell any stamps or accept any mail. SO - a Baaaaaad experience just trying to track a package here for delivery to De La Cruz Blvd - 2 day. Shipped 6/22 and insured - then BAM arrives 6/24 at 95121 San Jose to go out for delivery...hey wait a minute...I MAILED this to 95050 Santa Clara! Magic - I finally filed a claim today 6/26/15 Friday - I mailed it MONDAY remember and 2-Day! Oh - and I asked for my $326 creating the docs shipped back since this was time sensitive. BAM - 30 minutes later it arrives in RICHMOND,CA 94804! Why??? ....so me thinks the problem is not so much the folks on the receiving end HERE, but the sorting station. I mean - WHY did my 95050 package mailed from Sacramento end up in San Jose 95121 - and not the way it was addressed and supposedly "entered" into the system? I'll use UPS next time. I was dreading my trip to this post office after reading all of the previous reviews. I just moved into a new apartment who required me to order keys and pay $35 for them from this post office which annoyed me, but aside from that my experience was great! I walked in right at lunch time and no one was there. Not one single person. I stood outside for a minute and wondered if i was in the wrong place. I went in, rang the bell since no attendant was at the desk and soon enough a woman came out. Before I could say "i need to order..." she knew what i wanted and had the paperwork in front of me to fill out. She said it could take 1-3 weeks and that she could hold mail for pick up in the mean time. Since its 2015 and nothing urgent comes in the mail for me I opted to wait. Today, a man called me saying the keys were ready. Just one day later! How awesome! I guess the experience may be different for picking up packages but mine was pleasant and I have to say, great customer service! read more

My girl lives in Santa Clara. Her car was broken into and they took mail out of it along with her stereo, subs and basically anything that wasn't bolted down. See my experience with SCPD. Well we had a lot to do, we were going on a cruise and asked for a vacation hold on her mail and to *NOT* deliver it to the house. The slip was taken from us by an Indian guy in his 40s or so. He said he's a supervisor so not to worry. Of course what happens, she gets a week and a half worth of mail stuffed into the mail box. We were part of her sister's wedding party and of course they bent the photos that we ordered. So we go back to the place to talk about that and a package that was somehow "lost" but marked as delivered on their website. We get the same supervisor to speak with, he denied any vacation hold was put in for her address. Then we asked about the package, he told us he will call us back. We calmly left. Waited two days for a call. Nothing. She has tried calling back, the phone just rings, and rings, and rings. No one answers. Pretty useful. We show back up Friday the 5th and he said he would not call her and it was her responsibility to follow up on her package. WTF? This guy also refused to get his boss or explain why the hold was never placed at all. Backpedaling and lying even after you were caught in your lies, those are the values it must take to move up in the Postal Service. Good job escalating the situation and making it worse, as opposed to attempting to rectify it. Not only are her sister's wedding photos damaged that we ordered, we have a missing package now too! Lame as lame goes I have had a few problems with this post office I finally broke down and decided to write a review about these AHs. Like someone said you go down the drive to Main Booking, sorry the Main door and enter a room big enough to support check in officer, you and the arresting officers, I mean two besides yourself and the counter with a phone but it must not be the one they have off the hook to constantly get the busy signal you always get when calling here. When you walk in you have to ring the bell, I suggest banging it 3 or 4 times real loud because because it was a long wait for my first and second ring before they answered then they greet you with the scripted 'Can I help you', if your picking something up write the tracking # down while you are waiting or your name if general delivery this will speed things up, a little. My last experience with them I was suppose to get a 2 day delivery package on Sunday and it never showed, they said they tried but the Business was closed, it is an apartment and they said they left a note, they didn't and last info after trying to file a complaint the main office doesn't know if it is to be delivered today or if it is at the Post Office or not so they can't tell me if it is there to be picked up and the place closes at 4pm, WaWaWaWhat? After my experiences with them I realized why there are so many other delivery services available. read more

Quite contrary to the earlier reviews, I had a very pleasant experience with this place. Had to get keys for the mailbox at our new residence. Although they said it would take 2 weeks to a month for the carrier to change the keys and give us a set, it was ready for pick up in 2 days! When everything goes smoothly, it's a good place to pick up your package. They do nothing but that, so the line goes quickly. But good luck to you if your package is missing. Superviser Blanca took my number and said she will call the carrier and call me back. Didn't hear from her. Two days later - same story, "let us take your number, we will call you back" When I asked to speak to Blanca, she was - naturally - in a meeting, unable to talk to me. I'm still waiting for her call. The meeting must be taking a very long time. Wny not just call me and say they lost the package? This way I can proceed with lost package claim. Right? But wait, there is more. To file a claim, as I was told, I need to go to the Agnew office. OK. Two visits to this location already. No results. Pretty bad. But if you live where I live - you have no choise, this is where your stuff arrives. read more

I am not sure what to do! I have a 95 year old mother, who's mail I had forwarded to my home because she was getting so much scam mail, sending cash to these people because "she won!". For some reason the mail man continues to deliver her a couple of letters, "they are only junk" he says.... Duh, those are scam. So I am on the way to my mothers house, again, to tell her is is scam. She gets all excited and her blood pressure goes out of wack. Then she thinks I am making it up that it is a scam. Mr. Mailman, I am not trying to deny my mother her mail. If you feel you need to deliver her mail, against my legal request, deliver mail that people really paid postage for. I have talked to the local post office, to Oakland PR, wrote emails and my mother continues to get these letters.... What else can I do? What about the poor elderly who do not have some one to care for them????? read more

To be fair, I had just moved and forgot to put my apartment number, so I expected the process to not be straightforward. I just didn't expect it to be THIS much of a hassle. FedEx was transferring the package to USPS and that's when I realized I forgot to put my apartment number. (WEDNESDAY) Once I realized I forgot to put my apartment number, I first went to the office directly and Bill was kind enough to give me a phone # for the office and a specific time to call so I can have the package delivered to my address. I called, the person who answered was a lady, who asked for the Tracking # to say it was invalid (I checked online and it said invalid as well). She then told me they would deliver it the following morning, regardless. (THURSDAY) I didn't hear any knock at the door, so I went to the office at noon to see if I may have missed the mail person. It wasn't there so I assumed whoever had it was still on their mail route -- understandable. (FRIDAY) I called the following morning (the person who answered was a man this time), he asked for the Tracking # which was invalid again, BUT they were fer sure to deliver it later that morning. I waited for the package -- Nothing. I went to the office to be told it wasn't there, so I assumed I missed the Mail Person. Same thing happened for Saturday. I asked if the package may have been sent back, and was told "It shouldn't have." So it's Monday now, no package. I called again, gave the Tracking # and was told it was invalid, again. I asked if it may have been sent back, again, but this time I was told "We're not sure, try calling the merchant." I called the merchant, gave my order # and they told me the status of my package was apparently SENT BACK to the merchant on THURSDAY. They gave me two additional numbers to put in front of the Tracking #: (92). I called FedEx who were the first carriers of my package, they asked for the Tracking number ALONG with the two additional numbers given to me by the merchant and was told it was in the care of USPS. I went back to this USPS office once again, gave them a Tracking # with the two additional numbers, and she FINALLY told me it was being shipped back to the merchant. I work in customer service so I can emapthize with them; the little number of available employees, lengthy lines and irrational customers, and irritable employees after having to deal with said irrational customers, but the entire process involving some of the employees was just terrible. With the exception of Bill, who was fairly polite and willing to help in some part of the situation. The only reason why this deserves at least 1 Star is because Bill was courteous enough to help. In the end, I didn't even get an apology from the lady at the counter, who even acknowledged who I was since I called numerous times. They could have told me sooner, could have at least TRIED to check if it got sent back, but they didn't. Instead, I was promised to have my package delivered just to be told it was sent back to the company the day it got to THIS office 5 days later. read more

Was looking for a package that was delivered on Saturday June 4th, 2016. Couldn't find it. So I tracked number and stated delivered at a "Parcel Locker." There was no key or note left in the mailbox for us to go and get it at the Parcel Locker. So I called USPS in Santa Clara. Spoke with Blanca, who was very helpful. I was very upset in the beginning, but she caught that and tried her best to assist. She said she had to call the carrier, who she couldn't get a hold of initially. She called to update me. Again, I was upset because there was no solution, but for me to call back in the morning. But she did say she'd continue to help me. She called me back again, because she got a hold of the carrier who went back to our house and spoke with my fiancé. The carrier did his due diligence to try and find my package. At this point, I've calmed down because Blanca and this carrier was going out of their way to help find this package. Come to find out, my mother took it and hid it away for me to get later. Although we've had issues in the past saying it's delivered somewhere, but really wasn't, they always did find our package eventually. I know how hard it can be as a mailman or work at a post office, but darn it, they need a better notification or system to inform their customers accurately about where their packages are located. read more

How do they stay in business? They cannot locate my certified mail and take zero responsibility for their errors.

They are slow when there are more than 1 person. But I've had issues with my mail not arriving, I usually call via phone and every time theres a problem the guys here will do everything they can to get things solved for me. On occasion they will phone my mail carrier to look into my misplaced package. One on occasion my package said delivered but I never got it. It was weeks later that I realized I didn't receive it and phoned in. The mailman contacted me and checked his truck for the package, he wasn't able to find it. But gladly a few days later it arrived at my door. So far they've been 100% with getting packages to me. Sometimes it takes a while but it makes it to my door. read more
