Wanted to use the kiosk for Amazon stuff but they didn't have…read moreany big bags..so I waited for them to be done with the customer at the desk and there was no one in the store besides us. After they were done I said "hey, I just needed two big bags for these, and there wasn't any here so I figured I needed to ask" he said "yeah we don't keep them out. next time all you have to do is ask." Which is what I thought I was doing but I wasn't going to be rude and interrupt the customer in front of me for a bag like I'm the only important one in the world. I didn't say that and happily took the two bags and nothing else was said after. I used to work at fedex, customer service/counter I get it can be stressful but I never once made someone feel unwelcome or a burden. Side note: I've read that people say they made them pay for tape. Yes, every place does this. I think it's uptight of a place to charge for closing a return but they literally tell you, in training, to charge for a roll if they bring an open box in. I have many times just taped up peoples stuff for them when it wasn't busy (so others don't think it's free) or slapped a piece of tape on a return. I would say something like "I like you so I'll do it this time, but next time I may not be here so I would suggest keeping a lucky tape roll in your car just in case". You know, being nice and or slightly goofy. In a world full of jerks it really doesn't take much to be a nice person. No, you can't tape everyone's box up but every once in a while when mistakes are made, something is forgotten or a bad day led to a scattered brain it's ok to just be nice and helpful. Suggestion: have a sticker on the door saying provide own tape or buy inside..so you don't have upset people (which honestly guys..is it really the places job to pack and ship without a charge? No, it's not, and you can do better than to yell at people for your own misunderstandings. This is also why I had no problem with just taping up the top of a return because it's not a whole roll or box being used or taped.)

I went in with a couple of packages and made an honest mistake by using an Express box for a Ground label. When I asked what I should do, instead of simply explaining my options, the owner was extremely rude and dismissive, telling me to "go deal with it" and "cut it off."When I brought up another package, he told me I needed to "learn how to read instructions" and referred to it as "trash." I calmly told him he didn't need to be rude, and he immediately accused me of yelling at him, told me to get out of his store, and said I was never welcome back. As I was leaving, he even called me "Karen." I was never yelling or disrespectful toward him. I have no problem being corrected when I make a mistake, but there is absolutely no excuse for treating a customer this way. A simple explanation would have been enough.I will never return to this location and would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

I've had him out a few times since for maintenance. I just got off the phone with him today. I cranked up the weights too far and hit the stop, and the clock ceased to function. It's been broken for months, just haven't gotten around to calling him. I called today and left a message. He returned my call within a couple hours, and walked me through a fix over the phone. Explained everything in great detail; he's VERY knowledgeable about his craft. I would have been perfectly content to spend $100+ on a home visit for him to fix this issue, yet he instead spent 15 minutes with me to walk me through it over the phone. A true gentleman :) Yes, his schedule can be long as other reviewers have mentioned. I made an appointment for a regular maintenance while I had him on the phone. Today is Dec 16th and his first slot was February. But you know... that's fine. It's a clock, not heart surgery hehe. Waiting a few months is fine, and worth it for service by a man of his caliber and expertise. PS - I have no idea why it said I'm from San Francisco, lol. But to be clear, I am not a "lost Yelper" clicking the wrong company. I do mean Ye Olde Clock Shoppe in New Freedom, PA :)

The 6 weeks of manic/focused shopping were all mine, but SYTT (and Clyde in particular) got me into a used x534 at a great price, and with a lot of new knowledge to boot! My first experience with Clyde was him calling me to talk about an estimate request I'd put in through the JD corporate site. Not knowing what I was doing, he took the time to explain why I did or didn't need certain features or attachments. Wanted to know about my yard and tasks to make sure I got the right machine and setup. They weren't the quickest on that first exchange, but I was pricing out an x300 or x500 something. Probably faster when buying a 1025 or bigger (that's been my experience with all dealers). But I'm not sure with them. More below. I didn't feel any kind of "lesser status" or attention because I wasn't buying a big machine. Anyway, Clyde came through with a an estimate, and taught me a few things along the way. Much more than most dealers will do. No high pressure sales at all. Then I stumbled on a x534 at SYTT. Emailed right away and heard back from someone else in their company (Rick, I think...they have two stores), and got routed back to Clyde. Nice surprise honestly! Went up to look at it and test drive. He spent at least an hour with me (1.5 I think) going over needs for my yard, strategies for mowing and leaf collection (i.e., do a quick chop of leaves without chute attached first, then suck them up to get more in the bag). Even some tips on how to deal with dealers and used equip. We priced out a few attachments, agreed on a price and I had the machine delivered in a couple weeks. It came with sharp blades (from what I can tell...no grass yet), new oil, and a new hood (was cracked). They really clean up their used stuff. Last little thing that made me a big fan...it's always the little things in business, right? When adding my front weight bracket they took off the original bumper. Most people wouldn't need this, but I do because of the type of Johnny Bucket I bought for it. Anyway, don't know if it was an oversight or intentional, but it didn't come with the delivery. When I discovered that a few weeks later, I just emailed Clyde. He responded with a text saying he has the bumper and will ship to me. Even checked the address, which is good b/c we just moved here and they had both addresses. I did that on Mon or Tues, and it's coming to me tomorrow! Serious customer service, even after purchase on a USED machine! Classy! Bottom line, these folks are in it for the craft and customers, not just moving machines. Go here if it's your first buy. No sales pressure, and no need to know what you're talking about. They help you learn along the way. They also have a lot of JD gear (shirts, books, DVDs, kids toys, stuffed animals) if you need that kind of thing. I'll be back for sure. Thanks Clyde and SYTT!

Some of the other moving companies I contacted never returned my voicemail. We got my move scheduled a few weeks before it was to happen. This was very easy with me discussing the details with Pam as well as texting her photos of the rooms and larger items. There were some blips in the delivery of the Pod and I am so grateful that Pam was able to reschedule with such short notice. Our move was a bit more complex. Double D's had to meet us at a location in Camp Hill to pick up a truck full of furniture. This was brought to our Harrisburg home. And then this as well as everything in our house was loaded into a 16 foot pod. Part of the reason I picked double D's was because of their glowing reviews and their ability to load a POD very tight. They exceeded expectations and used every bit of the pod from floor to ceiling. (A 16 foot POD is for a house up to 1400 ft.². This of course doesn't include your basement, attic, and garage.) They did an amazing job! We had a few items that did not fit and we expected this because a 16" pod is not as big as you expect it to be. (No big deal because we will drive them at another date to our new location.) They then drove these items back to the Camp Hill address where we could store them. The price was very fair. I can't say enough good things about this group.
