The ladies here are rude and the self service kiosk doesn't work well. Don't waste your time.

They still have mailboxes outside that you can just pull up to. The PO on Redondo Beach Blvd (Gardena) does not. So this makes me happy.

Ask the Community - US Post Office

Can I pick up Form 1093 (for PO Box) at this location?

Would like to find out the price for a post box

Who else has had mail lost or stolen here?

I have, for sure. I even have the service from the post office that takes a picture of each mail piece before it gets actually delivered to your house and have that missing. Something ain't right. And this particular one was a personal check.

I literally was just dropping it off, needing NOTHING from him, but yet he still found a way to be rude to me after he asked if I'd like a receipt and I said yeah. He literally looked like he wanted to send me to the back of the line ha. This individual should be fired for how he treats customers. There are tons of reviews on here for this exact guy saying how rude he is, why doesn't management do something about it? If this guy is mad at life, he doesn't need to be taking it out on customers. Unreal. And just to note, I've been using USPS a lot lately, and it appears to me that literally 9 out of 10 USPS employees hate their job and are always very rude to customers. It almost seems like that is a requirement in order to work there. Lol. These people literally have every holiday and the day before and the day after off, I don't understand what they're all so upset about. Not a difficult job by any means. Honestly think my cat could work there and do a better job.

Service is ****** five stars plus a 6th for being above average compared to most USPS employees in general. They always seem upbeat and happy with a good disposition. This location has that thick clear acrylic security barrier and deposit boxes for parcels and the side door closet type access point to pass large parcels through as well as PO Boxes. This place needs a better "self-service" upgrade like a kiosk to buy stamps and check in (scan to activate tracking confirmation status) parcels. They also need a better way to drop off parcels than the small mail slot drop that can maybe fit a 5" x 5" x 5" sized parcel that often jams. This place seems understaffed because I think, out of necessity they close for employee lunch breaks maybe in the timeframe of 1-3pm Parking is generally easy. Because they're understaffed, this North Branch... if you see a line longer than 5-6 people long, it's sometimes faster to drive to the main post office as a quicker processing alternative.

This should be a three-star rating, but the posted hours are incorrect. Why? Because whoever works here has decided that it is occasionally appropriate to close the entire post office for fifteen minutes or a half-hour or an hour. For what? Lunch? A bathroom break? I know that many very small businesses have offices that close for lunch, and 95 percent of those small businesses accurately list their hours, either "Open 9 to 12:30, 1:30 to 5," or "Open 9 to 5 (closed from 12:30 to 1:30 for lunch)." Why can't this post office do that? Better yet, why can't this post office simply stay open? I have literally spent weeks, possibly months, of my life waiting in post-office lines in different parts of the country. This is the only post office I know of that actually closes at lunchtime. Why? There must be more than one person working at a time. Stagger the lunch breaks, as every business in the history of the world has done. Apparently, there's plenty of parking, but I didn't know about the parking lot, so I parked in front on the street.

The main issue is not the process itself, it is the way customers are spoken to. I understand that employees are not expected to be overly cheerful, but there is a difference between being neutral and being condescending. On my first visit, I picked up an envelope that ended up being out of the price range I needed. When I went to put it back exactly where I found it, the employee told me in a rude tone, "that is not where you found that." It absolutely was, and I had placed it back correctly. It felt unnecessary and dismissive. During that same visit, I was filling out an envelope and asked a simple question about labeling. Instead of being helpful, I was told in a rude tone that I "could have just filled out the back." I am not familiar with USPS processes. I usually go to UPS where they handle labeling, so I was just asking for guidance. Today's visit was similar. There was no greeting, and I was told my package could not be sent as it was and that I needed a different envelope, again in a blunt and unpleasant tone. I made a small mistake on the address and mentioned I would pay for the envelope I had to redo. The response I got was, "why did you fill it out after you already stuffed it," which was not even what happened. Regardless, comments like that feel unnecessary and judgmental. For context, I am nine months pregnant and just trying to get through simple errands. I am not expecting over the top friendliness, but basic kindness and respect go a long way, especially when someone is unfamiliar with the process and simply asking for help. I will likely have to continue using this location, but I really hope there is some improvement in how customers are treated. A more respectful tone would make a big difference.
