I came here today ( Saturday ) to mail a package . Lines were not long , but to speed things up , I tried out the NEW SELF SERVICE KIOSKS the have installed , man , those are COOL !!!! And unlike Ralph's over on PCH & Calle Mayor , there was a Postal Attendant there helping and making suggestions from start to finish . These machines REALLY speed things up . I was in and out in 3 minutes , these are really easy to use and saves a lot of time . The big plus is not only is it faster , but again unlike Ralph's if you get stuck , the Attendant is right there , at Ralph's if you have a problem , your left hanging there forever !! These Self Service Machines at the Post Office , now makes it fun to go there . I WILL be going back there when I have to Mail a package on the weekend , and look forward to doing so !!!!! Although this office couldn't perform the task for me Reneida walked me through the whole process and directed me to where I can get this done. She literally went through every step for my situation and made sure I fully understood. Customer service like that doesn't exist anymore.. She could have just given me a number and ended it at that. If I have a choice, I would give zero star for this post office. Worst customer service ever!!!! I went to pick up my parcel in the first morning after I got off from my work. The Mexican guy handed me a package after asking my address. Since I was so sleepy I didn't check the name on my package (I should have done it...) and went home. When I opened the package, I found that it wasn't for me! The name of the receiver was totally different from my name and address was also totally different. How could that guy can pick up this package and handed it to me? What was he checking on my driver's license? I was so sleepy but I went back to the post office, and told that same Mexican guy that I received wrong package. He said "again??" What? So you've done it before? And he took the package back and disappeared!!!! No apology!!!! Definitely the worst post office in the area, I'm so frustrated with these employees! First of all, I only came here to buy a po box, what a difficult task that turned out to be for them!!! So I filled out the application and got through the line, the employee took forever to input my info then told me that you can't get a 3 month po box unless you have a credit card (not a debit card) to which another employee said you could you just needed a separate piece of paper to fill out. So the lady says she has to go in the back to find a different employee who knows where the paper is.... which is unbelievable that none of them know where it would be for such a simple common task of getting a po box!!! THEN she comes back literally 10 minutes later, doesn't even approach me I had to approach her myself and ask, to which she tells me the employee is out on lunch and will be back in 30 minutes so I said screw it and did the 6 month. Well you know what? Silly me I should've just gone to a different location. What happened next is what I'm the most irritated about. I PAID for a po box, they gave me 2 keys and all the info about the correct address for it, and you know what? They never even set the po box up for me!!! They never registered it! I noticed when I would check it for weeks that the blue plastic piece at the back of my mailbox was still there. After not receiving any mail for weeks I realized maybe that was the problem... so I PERSONALLY had to reach in and punch out that plastic piece myself. Sure enough, I got a piece of mail the next day!! Turns out all my packages were getting rejected and sent back because they never took out that plastic piece and registered my box! So effing unprofessional of them. Then when I asked the lady about it she seemed to be annoyed with ME like it's not her job to go check if my package was back there. Wow. Sucks I have that box for 6 months. I would cancel and go to a different location but I don't want to go through the process of changing my address again. So yeah that's my experience. And if you decide to get a po box here make sure you punch out that blue plastic piece because they probably won't! read more

I recently dropped off a very important mail at this location and it got lost so it was a very frustrating experience. In my building mails are constantly being misplaced and lost. I often do not receive my cc or bank statement. If I'm lucky my neighbors will bring it to me but usually it gets lost. I'm sick of Torrance USPS service. No passport services for first time applications. I called several times to confirm, but no answer no recording. Decided to go in with all of my paperwork completed. The man literally showed me the applications and took several minutes, showing me the apps, where he office was before he told me they haven't hired or trained anyone. On the door they had a listing of other processing sites that looked familiar to what was on the travel USA website. Total waste of time. I decided to go through city of carson's city clerk and paid the $25 per passport (cash, credit). Went very smoothly. For children under 16, make sure the child and parents are there for verification. Have your app filled out, bring checkbook for fees, original and copy of birth certificate, front/back copy of parent's ID. read more

My son has been in the military for over 5 years so within those years I have sent packages to him too many times and never had one single problem. Well, until I came to this PO location. I had moved to Torrance recently and the nearest PO for me is this location. I came on Feb 3 to send a valentine care package for my Sailor who's overseas. 3 weeks after, he has not received it yet so I tracked it online and says, "the package is in their Chicago branch on Feb 6 and in transit to destination" so I waited another week, still no package and the online tracking has the same message. So, I decided to go to the branch and inquire about my package (which btw I have insurance on)....left work early to make it there before closing time, stood in the long line to wait for my turn just to inquire...when it was finally my turn, the lady at the desk said, "you can track your package online" duh!, I knew that. So, she obviously didn't want to help me and directed me to this other lady who can barely speak English and went online to track my package and said exactly what I already knew So, again she said just wait for it. By this time I was getting agitated because we were going nowhere so I have requested to speak to the supervisor and was instructed to stand in front of the door with a window. 5 minutes after, she came out and asked me with an attitude, "how can I help you?" Whoa!! Despite of this, I stayed calm and explained to her why I was there for and that my package has been in Chicago since Feb 6 and no movement. She then took my receipt went in the back, came back and said that there's nothing that she can do because it's in their Chicago plant and I would have to call their 800 # to inquire or file a claim. I left this PO feeling disappointed . I tried filing a claim online but their online service does not work. I called their 800 # numerous times during my lunch breaks (because it is supposedly only open during business hours) and get no answer each time after waiting for over an hour. After trying all of these, I gave up and went back to the same PO but this time while I was waiting in line, I had asked one of the men at the counter if I could speak to their supervisor. He said, "I'm busy just stay in line." This Asian guy next to him at the counter started laughing and made a smirky remark. I finally get to the front of the line, the same supervisor came out and before I could explain myself she kept saying that it is out of their hands and there's really nothing she could and kept walking away...... This Post Office (2510 Monterey St Torrance, CA 9050) is the worst I've ever visited, by far. I had a package that the Post Office failed to deliver, it arrived back on my front doorstep 9 days after being sent. I took my package to this Post Office to request a refund ($117.95) and they told me I must do it online. I already knew it could not be done online as I had already tried, but they insisted they could do nothing so I asked for the URL to file my request. The woman looked nonplussed and obviously didn't know what a URL is. She then scrawled CALL 800 275-8777 in large print all over a printout I had that showed only missing/damaged/lost items are covered by an online claim. I asked to see the Postmaster and she told me he/she was not in.... so I asked to see a supervisor. She walked away and sent a different person to tell me all supervisors were in a long meeting and it would not be possible to see any of them. I returned early the following Monday to see the Postmaster. There was already a line when I got there and while I was waiting in the line I watched a woman casually throwing mail items from a large bin over a 6ft partition into another bin. Not every item she was throwing was destined for this bin, the others were thrown some distance into a room behind the woman..... I felt like I was in a Monty Python skit. I eventually reached the front of the line and asked to see the Postmaster and was told to wait in an adjoining area. After a few minutes a hatch in the wall opened and there was the package tossing woman!! I'm the supervisor, how can I help you? I explained my issue and asked to see the Postmaster but she steadfastly refused and told me there was nothing she could do... "we cannot give refunds here" was the only response. No advice, no help, nothing but denial and obstruction. I hope I never have to visit this Post Office again for any reason. read more

Oh where do I begin. Hands down THE worst post office ever. I would give it negative stars if possible. 1. Phone rings forever with noone there. On my 5th attempt I literally let it ring for 20 min straight and someone picked up. AMAZING. I have no complaints here! I visit this post office many time before for packages and mail pick up. The last couple of times they have been busy but it seems like a rush. Boxes and envelopes are always stock up. I had mix thoughts with all the negative reviews in the past with bad service from staff but I guess they have improved. Staff on every occasion they have been helpful and efficient. I've been help by Suni, James and the other the staff. I also like that more then three windows at a time are open. read more

The postmen are lazy, they do not come to your door to deliver packages (I live in the back). It is for this very reason that my package got lost/stolen. Supervisor's are lazy and incompetent. I'm not sure why the staff got such great reviews with others. Not really the case with me. I rarely ship stuff out so I'm not accustomed to the whole process (which isn't difficult, but trying to learn anything - easy or hard - sometimes we need a few run throughs to learn something). So yes, I needed a helping hand because there was also a couple things i thought were possibly wrong with the address - i just needed regular human help & was met with some irritation & a bit aggression just because I don't know everything there is to know about shipping. ONE woman there I met before - whose name I do not know - was very patient & helpful with me before. A nice black woman there. Everyone else, wasn't friendly, & not very helpful. I can not stand this place. Every package I have had go through this post office has been lost. They lost 3 out of 3 packages. When I talked to someone about my lost package the told me it was delivered and must have been stolen off my porch when it was clearly never delivered. I was contacted 4 months later saying they found my package. By this point it was way too late for me to even use the product. There is never anyone there to help with pick ups and when you ask for help you will just get passed off from one person to the next. Whenever I order anything online from now on I always make sure it will be delivered by UPS or FedEx. I will not even deal with this post office anymore. I use their drop box and after the 5th package in less than 3 months that is "lost" I'm done with this outfit. I've been shipping product for years and never had this many issues. I have to wonder if these are indeed "lost" or simply stolen. Of course there is no way to track the package because the package never gets scanned as received. read more

I really hope they shut down the U.S. postal service department. It is a joke. A bunch of yahoos working who never know what they are doing. Came in to get my passport taken care of between the hours of 9am and 2pm. Was told I had to make an appointment and the next one wasn't for 2 months. Was told to wait to 'the side' and someone will be with me to set up an appointment. No one came. Called the number to set up an appointment... I never get a live person. The line is always busy or disconnected. No message service. I called other government agencies for a passport and there is no appointment required. Got it the next day at Redondo Beach Registars office. No line. No problems. The post man stopped by my house today and knocked once. When I got to the door he was gone. A pink slip for my package was in the mailbox. I went to pick up my package after work and wait in a super long line. By the time I get to the front one of the lady's assisting at the front desk said 'anyone here to just pick up a package'. I waive my pink slip and she directs me past 'the double doors' to a gray door where I am to knock. No one answers. I ask a ghetto lady who is obviously an employee but pretends not to be of assistance and looking at her iPod or iPhone. She says, "no, you have to wait in line... This is the only line." I go back to the front of the line where my place was and thank god there was a sweet older lady at the front... She remembered I was in line and let me back in. The older lady tells an employee at the front that a desk lady shouted people to pick up their package at the back door. The lady was like "no one ever said that... Nope. This is the only line" meanwhile the desk lady who did say it kept looking at me but wouldn't speak up that she did accidentally tell people in line that. I get to the front and the guy says you usually have to pick up the package the next day because it never comes back the same day to pick up even though it did not specify that on the pink slip. All because of a lazy mailman. This is the worst post office and every time I come here I have the worst experience with people who have no education, no people skills, and no urgency to assist. Why are we keeping them in business!!?? Because I work I can't even pick up my package until Monday and its Thursday. I am keeping my fingers cross that they close some day. read more

I very rarely get good customer service here. This Morning I was dealing with a gentleman named "Jay". Who was worst in customer service skills and acted like it's a bother that I came to his counter to get stamps. (I usually use the machines.. and the machine is out of service) I asked him, " Is everything ok? " His reply was "Is everything ok with you?" (With an attitude) Like I suppose to be polite and be grateful that I get to speak with him. Sadly, with a execption of a few people in this branch. Everyone is rude. I went in with the little "sorry we missed you, go here card" and there was a short line but they got through it pretty quickly, well one out of the two got the line down . I got the slow one who I'm not sure how he got a job there. Handed over the slip, disappeared for 10m, came back with nothing, asked to make a copy of the paper, another 10m. I figured he was using a rock and chisel. He went to look again another 5-10m. Came back with empty hands, I asked the other worker if she could look for it. BAM...2m the box was there. Being a person that goes to different post offices (depends where I'm at), I would say that this one is probably the worst post office I've been to. Bad enough to where I had to review it. I had a package from Hong Kong that arrived on 11/25 to this post office, according to tracking information. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited a week later before calling. They take forever to answer the phones (I had to call literally 12 times in a row before I can get a live person on the line). On top of that, I was placed on hold for 20 minutes, only for them to tell me that they couldn't locate the package. They took down my name and number, saying that a person would be calling me back the next day. I didn't get a call the following day, so I decided to go there personally the day after. The guy at the counter wasn't very helpful. I was told that he couldn't locate the package and advised me to call the next day and ask for the carrier supervisor. I called again the next day, taking another 10 times before getting a live person. I asked for the carrier supervisor, and after being put on hold for 10 minutes, I was told that the carrier supervisor was at lunch. WTH? This issue continues to brew till now. Whether this gets resolved or not, my rating for this place won't change due to their poor degree of customer service and failure to be accountable for their system flaws. But what are we going to do? This is a federally-run agency. Just be forewarned to avoid using this post office if you want stuff delivered to you. read more

This place deserves a -5 rating, the mailman left a note of attempted delivery at my door cause noone was home, they claim the envelope arrived at this location, but can't find it, I tried talking to someone, but they always say we can't find it, please give us your phone number and we will call you when we find it, but nothing yet, and it has been 1 week of this going on. Everyone except for 1 man is very unproffesional and need 100 % more training on how to do their job right!!! The US Post Office holds a similar reputation to the DMV, rude employees and long waits. But my visit here was pleasantly surprising. I came here yesterday at 11:30 AM to get my passport renewed. I came prepared with my 2in x 2in photo, old passport, filled out DS-11 form (because I was under 16 when I got my last passport, otherwise you'd bring a DS-82 form), and a blank check (ended up being $110). I waited at the mail line and was directed to this snappy lady who works with passport services. She informed me that at this specific location they only do renewals by appointment ONLY which I was unaware of before coming in. She then informed me that if I schedule an appointment right now it'll be in June! She saw that I was really sad to hear the news and just as I was packing up to leave she asked if I had a copy of my ID. I said no and she told me that I need that in order for this process to work she needs it so she asked for it and made a copy of the front and back (for $1) and said if I wait 30 minutes she can meet with me. She told me to look through all my paperwork to make sure everything was complete and correct so the process can go quick. I was super happy and thankful and waited till she called me in. The process took 10 minutes! She was sharp and stern but still very helpful and considerate for allowing me to squeeze in. After the whole process I got back in line to pay for the shipping bill which ended up being $25. Overall it was a great experience and even if there was a bit of a mix up and not the happiest employees it was well worth getting this off of my to do list. My package was to returned to sender however it was lost so I contacted USPS to inquire. They told me someone from my local office was to called me and they did however I was away from my phone and only got a voice mail. I received a letter the next day to contact a Mona Cabs at 310-222-5912 regarding this case so I called.. no answer so I hung up and tried again later. So I called again and again and again, and even left the phone on speaker as it rang for over half an hour with no one picking up. Ridiculous! read more

WARNING TO ALL, if you have a package delivered by a different vendor (e.g Amazon, UPS, FedEx) the mailman has the right AND is excused by their management team to simply take it without being held responsible for NOT PROPERLY READING THE LABEL, EVEN IF YOU HAVE IT ON VIDEO. This happened to us with a $500 package and this is what DAVID, a supervisor from this location told me; this is an often occurrence as mail personnel DOESNT HAVE TIME to read the labels. When I asked about the process of getting this package returned to us he said that these incidents are hard to track as USPS does NOT keep any paper trail when this happens. My overall experience when addressing this issue was extremely unprofessional, rude as he kept interrupting me, thoughtless as he couldn't careless and unresolved as he couldn't provide direction on what I needed to do to get my $500 package back. He simply said that my package may have been sent back to the shipper YET they could not confirm as they keep no records of these incidents. I feel extremely cheated and lost as I have no clue what to do next since they are of no help. If I can, I would like to give a 0 star if possible. There is a lady who doesn't let me to drop off packages inside the post office. I only have 3 small packages, and she requested that I should drive to the loading dock on the back of the post office to drop it off. Seriously, 3 small envelops side packages??? She said every little packages count, and the front is for people who mailed from the Kiosk only. Seriously? Can't drop off small packages at the post office?? They don't even deserve ONE STAR. Typical government office. I'm only writing to say that it's a waste of time writing a review because they don't give a damn. They are Civil Servants that will never get fired for poor service. So why should they improve? I recommend that you go to private mail service companies. Like the other reviewers said this is a really bad post office. Per their note I went to pick up a package. They could not locate their own package which they told me they had the day before!! I gave them the benefit of the doubt and checked back for a whole week. NOTHING. Some Employee at the office most likely stole my package.
