This location really needs to look into their employees. I have now had the joy of dealing with Pam on three separate occasions and all three occasions I left extremely upset. My last visit was one of the worst, more unprofessional experiences I have ever had in my life. My husband received one of those pink cards stating a package had been delivered to our local post office and he asked that I pick it up on his behalf. Unfortunately, we misplaced the card so I figured I could go into the post office and show my ID to pick it up.
Immediately upon being called over by Pam, I knew that this visit would be like my previous ones. First off, she didn't even say hi or how can I help you today, she just annoyingly said "yeah?". I told her that I was there to pick up a package for my husband and she rudely demanded the card. I explained to her that it was misplaced and her agitated response was "well if you don't have the card you can't pick up the package!". I then asked what I would need to do since I knew we no longer had the card. Again, I received the same response "if you don't have the card you can't pick it up!". I told her I understood that and again I just need to know what to do to get another card so I could pick up our package. She then asked where I lived and I told her Tyngsboro and AGAIN she ripped my face off saying "NO your ADDRESS", which I gave her. After a few more rude, annoyed, unprofessional attitude filled questions, she went to get my packages. At this point, two other customers were staring at her, one even laughing at the way she was acting. It was so embarrassing to have witnesses watch the way I was being treated.
When she came back, she threw the boxes on the counter and very aggressively informs me that there is NO way they will EVER do this for me again in the future and if I ever need to pick up a package that has a card I will NEED to have it or else I can't pick it up. At this point, I very calmly said "Pam, I have to be honest with you, the past three experiences I have had with you have been extremely unpleasant and I don't appreciate the way you are treating me". Well that threw her into a temper tantrum and she continued to yell at me. Since the conversation was going nowhere and I felt like I was talking to a rabid animal, I signed the card and left the store. How can a complete stranger talk to someone like this? How can someone who works for the government in a customer service position be allowed to treat customers this way?
What makes me more upset is the fact that I have faithfully avoided this post office since a bad experience I had with Pam in July. All I needed was help with packaging questions and the best method to ship my stuff. I ended up leaving there crying because she was so mean to me and I just drove to the Westford, MA location. Tyngsboro is my town and the fact that I can no longer go to MY post office because of an unprofessional post office employee is unacceptable. If you don't like working with people on a daily basis and helping them with the post office needs, then you should not be in a customer service position. I am honestly disgusted by her actions and treatment. read more
