We ordered an item that was sent via DHL since October 25th. Tracking showed that the item was turned over to the USPS in Union City on October 27th. Tracking then showed that delivery date was to be October 28th. Nothing. Checked tracking again and the delivery date was revised to October 29th. Still nothing arrived. A full week has past and three calls made to the vendor about the status of our item. They claimed they'd check it. Coincidentally today USPS tracking shows that the item has reached our local post office in SF and is supposedly out for delivery. Now 1:47 pm and still nothing has arrived. I cannot fault the vendor nor DHL for this incompetence. It's the Union City post office that is at fault. Something is just not right that a package takes one full week to reach San Francisco from Union City. I could have gone on vacation to Paris, France and returned in that space of time even. And looking at past reviews (going back to 2014) this particular post office seems to ignore packages as other reviewers reported that the same as us: Tracking is stalled for a long time. If these people don't care to do their jobs properly then either fire them or reprimand them/follow up with them that they are doing things right. Total total USPS incompetence. I realize per the news that the post office doesn't have enough employees to do the jobs, but this is totally ridiculous. As if it wasn't bad enough that our neighborhood mail carrier is shirking his/her job by stuffing other people's mails (mostly the voting flyers) in our mail box. read more

First off if I were staring my mail carrier, I'd give 5+ stars, and even the in side desk help has always been great. So why in the hell is it imposable to get a phone call through? 2 days straight now. I have called, 9 to closing. As I called often each hour. Called other PO's they answered. I ask for the UC number and was giving the one no one will answers. Even ask about the mysterious extensions numbers you can call, however you are not given an extension list to choose from!? The other POs were very nice and tried to help, but this was/is a matter only UC can deal with. This is not the fist time not getting through. Rarely do they ever pick up. read more

I guess they stop picking up the phones 20 minutes before closing. Also, mail deliverer seems to ignore mail notice responses. They did, however, not lose my package at the post office and were open during their listed business hours. read more

Super fast service even on a Saturday. All registers where open and the line was going fast. They don't have a lot of parking but since customers in and out, it's not hard to find a spot. Other than that... everything else is just like all other postal offices. read more

This is a hidden little post office in UC next to a tiny park. The SERVICE IS FANTASTIC. There are 2 ladies that work here and they know their mailing options. Kudos to these ladies, esp the plump one with the glasses. Best post office around. Better than the one on dusterberry read more

Been going here for 10+ years. They have always taken care of me and made sure all my packages were sent on time. There are usually always 3-4 workers who are very nice and work diligently. Manjit is usually who helps me and is one of the nicest workers there! Best usps office ive ever been to! Skip the log lines by using the self service machine to ship! read more

I like to use this post office because the lobby is open 24 hours and they are open longer than the other post office in Union City over on Smith street. The lines usually go pretty quick and I've never had any problems here read more

I asked a USPS if we can apply for my mom's passport ( renew ) he said yes come back at the window once done. When we were done I asked the lady how do I get the gentleman who assisted with her passport back to turn in the papers she spoke to me as if I worked for the USPS and told me he was only a supervisor and doesn't know anything. This is my first review ever and I usually don't put down reviews but I just felt so thankful. I drove around to different post offices trying to get an appointment or SOMETHING made for my passport. I was so frustrated already. This place was the jackpot, wait wasn't too long, went on Monday morning at 11am or so , and Rosemarie at this post office saved my life with helping me with my passport things and I just wanted to put it out there that if you're kind to the workers, they'll be kind to you. This review is abt the mail carrier, not the office. I live at 348** 11th street, union city. I hate my postman. He doesn't deliver my mail where sometimes it's late (ie days late), or he delivers somebody else's mail in my mailbox, or it doesn't come to my mailbox. we have a mail bank. I've had to complain to his supervisor four times in the past two years. my rent check wasn't delivered on time (three times), and one time it wasn't delivered (it was sent back to the bank). I didn't get a late fee bc I explained to the leasing office that it is the mailman who obviously isn't delivering it bc my check is in the mail from chase bank, I have proof of that on my bank statement. they send the checks out five days before the first so it gets to the office on time. he delivered mail that didn't belong to me three times in a month. two christmases ago I didn't get a christmas card when everyone else who was sent one from my relative all received theirs (it didn't even come late which is understandable during the christmas season) [the other problems with my mail being late was not in the christmas season] he is terrible, and they should put him in the sorting area, and take him off off the routes. read more

Love the people here at this USPS. They are so sweet and so personable. I have been going here for years! Now, the location itself is somewhat small, so the line up can be frustrating for impatient customers, but they are speedy and kind when it's your turn, so I am a happy and continuously returning customer! read more

I gave this place a five star simply because of Rosemarie that helped me out today. The vibe i felt from her was very warm and welcoming and not your typical "i hate this job". I was shipping out a few packages and one was going to overseas where I wasn't aware that I needed to fill out a custom form. In this case, Rosemarie not only did she made me feel like she taught me something but also offered me blanked custom forms for my future use which can ease my visit for the next time I come in. Absolutely my favorite post office in the bay area! I go to the post office several times a week (we run a home-based business) and have used many locations in the bay area. This one is by far the best. *They are the quickest I've seen. *They are accurate. I've shipped hundreds of packages nation-wide and world-wide (about 800-900 packages) with nothing lost! *They are all very nice. *They can always answer my questions or explain regulations to me. The only drawback is maybe the parking lot is a bit awkward (that's pretty much the same for most post offices) but I've never failed to get a parking place. read more

I tracked my package down and it said that it was delivered here and the Asian girl said she didn't have it and was looking at me like I was some stupid person and that I should check with my local USPS. Obviously I would have if it was stated in my tracking number and not in this branch. And she was saying they don't get packages like this because they had a small office. I've dropped mail the same type of package many times at the other postal offices, never had a problem before. Yesterday, I went to this one on Alvarado-Nile, I handed the package to a woman clerk. I guess she was training a new employee... I figured, she was trying to show off her bossy attitude. She actually measured the package... 0.01 lb over weight. Wait a minutes, I just measured it at home it was 2.78 Lb. Seriously? Now she wants to re-calculate the shipping rate. And try to measure the dimensions... OK, got you! 0.15" over in width! Now she really wants to re-calculate the rate. I took it away, drop it at another postal office, no problem. Postal Office clerks have the right to double check the weight and dimensions of any package. It just the way I don't like it. It's not even 0.5 Lb or 0.5" more. Besides, how can they be sure the instruments they intensively use are accurate? If it's so ridiculously to argue about the 0.01Lb... the 0.15"... and wasted my time, I think USPS can just abandon the online shipping system, and let FedEx or UPS do the job. I guess this is the reason why USPS is not competitive at all. The huge amount of high-paid, inefficient employees is a big issue that drags USPS to the edge of bankruptcy. The sad thing is, the tax payer still have to pay for their poor operation. read more

This review is for mail delivery. Everyone knows that package theft is on the rise. I'm not always home so if I'm expecting a package I like to track it to see if I can make arrangements to make sure someone can get the package for me it I am not able to. There was one time when a package was arriving on a Friday. I called up the office and asked them if they could please. And I said please many times. I asked them if they could hold it for a day and deliver it on Saturday when someone would be home. They told me they couldn't do that and that they would have to deliver it on Friday. I then told them that if that package gets stolen, who would replace it? They said that I would have to contact the sender... Otherwise I could put my mail on hold and pick it up at the post office. When I get something delivered by FedEx or UPS I always have an option of leaving it at their office and picking it up there. I can't believe the postal service doesn't have this option. To make things worse, when my letter carrier delivers a package, she doesn't even attempt to hide it behind our pillar. She leaves it right in front of the door for the world to see. We've spoken to her about it before but she always does it. read more

It's the post office. This particular location has ample parking though. Only One automatic payment machine inside and the line is sometimes very long. As in many postal locations certainly never enough people working so prepare to stand in line. read more

One of the worse post offices in the area. Some how someone got hold of the master key that opens all 6 of our community cluster boxes. Only the post office has access to this master key. How someone made a copy of the key is a wonder. Makes you think it is an inside job. On 12/08/17 at 7:33pm one of the mailbox clusters was broken into and the back panel where the mail carrier inserts mail was left wide open. A neighbor's surveillance camera caught the incident. In the video, two suspects on bicycles pulled up. One waited by the driveway as the "lookout" while the other effortlessly opened the back panel of the box and started taking mail and stuffing it into his backpack. Suspect face was clearly visible on video. Next morning after several attempts of trying to contact the PO, she drove over to the PO to report the incident. There she spoke to the "onsite supervisor" you said it looks like someone made a copy of the key, but did not take down any info, did not provide any directions or instructions to contact the USPS Inspections (which is another story). Nothing. In the meantime, another neighbor taped the back panel so the doors were not left swinging and later that day the mail carrier was seen delivering mail, pulled the tape off and started loading mail like it was nothing. When another resident tried to tell the mail carrier the box was compromised he just shrugged it off. Then same incident happens 2 more times since. Again, boxes opened with a key and left opened. Our community manager called the USPS Inspections to have the master lock replaced. They said they would be out to change them on 1/11/18. Never happened. On 1/22/18 she contacted the USPS Inspections who said the PO had changed the locks when clearly they had not. Someone named Singh from the UC PO swears up and down the locks were changed. So...1) How does a master key that only the post office has access to get stolen & copied? 2) They don't tell you what to do if you've been a victim of a mail crime. 3) The mail carriers don't care if your box is compromised. 4) They lie. And worse of all, our issue is still not resolved. read more

So I get to the post office at 11:00 and I have several packages to send to different states so of course it's going to take some time which normally I wouldn't have mind if my kids wasn't driving me crazy. So 6 packages later I get in line. Not seeing where the destination for package 1 is going because I assumed that the agent ms. Phan would read the address and not just type the zip code and not say anything in regards to the states being different. But she says I notice you click fragile did you wrap anything that's fragile well I said yes but don't you have a stamp that you uses to mark the box. She told me no they don't do that. I been to that post office before and they did. So did other post office throughout the United States. So we moved one I have like three more packages and she asked me if I want to pay for half no I am paying for them altogether. I would've mentioned I am paying half and half. So we get to the 5th box that is bulging only a little bit with the whole tape roll so I was like I can throw it and it won't burst but instead I put it in another box that is not the priority box. Paid for the box and to ship it. Why the hell their large box is the same size as their medium box and they want to charge $17 for it is ridiculous. When I got back in line I dealt with another agent who explained to me that they used to have the fragile tape but they got rid of it and charge for handle shipping. So I finally handle my last package and leave the post office close to 1pm and head home with my wild kids. I noticed that my 1st package ms. Phan put into the system is going to Washington DC not Darlington SC. When I noticed I immediately called the Center to see if it can be changed on their end. Nope I have to go back to the post office to change it. Get there at 3:40pm and packages already gone. So I have to wait wait for them to return it and pay again to ship it to the correct address that is already on the package but either due to my error with the zip code or the agent I have to wait and see what happens. The agent that helped me told me that they may notice the address says Darlington, SC and ship it there from Washington, DC , but if not why the hell I have to pay again when they should be looking at the full address not just the fucking zip code. I know technology but really you have to pay attention to things read more
