After waiting 25 minutes :) was advised that she does not have money orders to sell and I have to wait for another clerk to show up in another 20 minutes. This building is an old gem, adorned on the inside with the portraits of Old Hollywood stars. That is probably the key thing I can appreciate about this Post Office. Staff are friendly and truly do take time to help you without making you feel as if they've got a bus to catch! They have stamps! (Some POs don't nowadays, so I thought I'd mention that.) However, they are a bit under staffed, so either don't be in a hurry or plan ahead. Bear in mind we're not quite out of COVID hysterics yet. They're doing their best, and that's as much as anyone can ask for in a world like ours. read more

Went in today and employees had masks off and around their chins, and were opening the barrier to talk to people like that! It also took forever because both employees working were being extremely chatty with customers, with their masks off, and the customers were then taking their masks down to continue these long irrelevant conversations at the window. I don't have an issue with people being friendly and chatting, but I do when they aren't following health protocols and are doing things that can spread COVID-19. read more

I love this post office. The line is never long and the employees are super nice and helpful. Not sure about the parking situation, though, since I always just walk here. There's a Russian pharmacy next door, and one day an elderly non-English-speaking Russian lady came into the Post Office thinking she was at the pharmacy. She was standing at the counter asking for the "Tynelol" and clearly very confused. The person at the counter was so nice and concerned. Worst employee I had ever experienced in my whole life. January 29, 2020 Wednesday afternoon around 4:20 PM, The employee a black lady whose work station is next to T7 Windee. She was extremely rude and racism, she told me to get an express envelope but I had an different question, she did not let me finish my sentence and tell me to move and said "next!" Then I tried to talk to her and she raised her voice on me and with Insulting language. I never had been treated like this disrespectful and rude even once in any of the post office. I came the day after Christmas rush, and yet the person serving me was cheerful, sweet, and for a change, acknowledged without a complaint that the crazy days are 'part of the job'. This place is an absolute joke, a very good example of lazy government workers. The lack of intelligence, the lack of caring, the lack of training, and the lack of common decency certainly is apparent at this place. They close exactly at the close time usually a few minutes early, if you ring the bell at the door they say sorry nobody's there and slammed the door in your face. Believe the bad reviews. I received a notification that my package (which needed to be signed for) was ready for pick up. I had no idea it would not be delivered. No big deal, I'll pick it up per the vague instructions. The email just said it was available for pick up at area code 90046. This location sharing the same zip, I went there. Even before getting to the window and explaining why I'm there, the woman behind the plexiglass (Look through the reviews, someone posted a pic of her - "blonde" hair) tells me that my package is not at this location, but at the Cherokee location. Before I could say "fine, but I was told to...." She immediately cuts me off, rudely spouts off "no ifs, ands, or buts" and walks away. SO RUDE!!! I don't even know why I'm bothering writing a review. Post Office workers are like DMV staff, they treat you like crap and always get away with it. They should be held accountable, like this woman. I run an online store and I dropped off over 35 packages over the course of a few days and there is no record of any of them leaving the location. They are all missing and they just blamed it on the pandemic. This is horrible for my business and the employees there are rude and don't want to help. read more

The incident occurred near 5pm on 4/19/16. We were about 5 people waiting in line for at least 20 minutes and only 2 employees working at the time. Right before 5pm a new costumer arrives and this employee that was in the lobby about to close the door decides to help this new costumer before everyone else in line. At first, I thought she was just answering a question but then I see this employee bring a wireless credit card machine and doing a transaction with this new costumer. I looked at the guy behind me and he had witnessed the same thing. He approaches this employee to ask her why is she helping this costumer when she had people waiting in line for over 20 minutes? The employee starts yelling at him "if you don't like it you can go home" "get back in line or go home" "get back in line or go home" I could not believe what I was witnessing. She proceeds to lock up the post office since it was 5pm and goes back inside. Before going back to her desk she made sure to change the radio station to find something she liked as we were all still waiting for her. When I come in to her window I asked for her name to which she responds "why do you want my name for" I said "I need your name to report your behavior" to which she says "I won't give you my name, I won't give you my name" The guy behind me asked to speak to a manager. There was no manager on site, she started yelling again that she won't give me her name. I took her picture since she would not give me her name and she went crazy closing the window on me and telling me to "get the hell out of here or I will call the police" She kept yelling at me "get out of here, get out of here". After almost 30 min waiting in line I could not send my mail because she returned my mail to me. She followed me to unlock the door and says "you are lucky I did not call the police on your ass". I am beyond alarmed and disappointed that the USPS will hire people like her. Her behavior is unacceptable and she is definitely not qualified for this job. She should be fired. read more

Well first to make things clear: like the DMV when I go to a post office I lower my expectations for pleasant encounters or decent customer service. And then meet Gwen! WOW she is rude! Even for the post office, this was something special. I went to the post office today around 5:15pm to mail an item. The line was 5ppl, patiently waiting for our turn all while listening to Gwen's remarks. I mean I've seen people hate their job, but she really really does not like her job and/or people. And then the credit/debit card system crashed!!!! It is 5:40pm, and all we hear is the system is down, pay with cash or check or leave. She told us we should get out, she has had enough! So the line of 5 of us still waiting, asked politely if there was another branch close by that is still open we can go to. And then the wrath of Gwen was unleashed: she started yelling all sorts of things. Who knew that selling stamps and envelopes could make a person so angry. So next time you send an email, pay your bills online or use FedEx, take comfort in knowing that you are slowly contribution to the death of a monster knows as the USPS. read more

Wow. I love this post office. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. Yes, I've waited in line, but how many times do you visit a post office and not wait in line. In fact, most people seem to count on there being a line so they can finish wrapping or addressing something. I have never waited an unduly long time, and sometimes it has been a quick in and out. Parking is usually available on Norton Street, and the people who work there have always been courteous, capable, and very helpful. read more

It's funny how I reviewed this and complained of the poor customer service here and my review was removed. Literally seeing employees yell at customers just for asking to have their mail certified. I posted this a while back only to have it deleted. Seriously even hearing the customers call us "you people" at the end of the day I understand there are many people in this industry that deserve an applaud for what they do but if you choose to work at the post office be respectful of the customers who go in there to do business the employees sound as if they hate working here and it shows also you can hear them literally talking s*** about people. I don't understand why the supervisor or manager does not do anything about the number of complaints this post office receives. Do you not care what the customers have to say? How I wish this WASN'T my neighborhood post office! Only reason I'm giving an extra star is for the couple of workers who are competent and somewhat friendly.. The line is hit or miss and they don't ever seem to have more than 2 people at the window to help but what I cannot deal with is the older lady with the short gray hair.. First off this woman does not know what she's doing and has a nasty attitude.. One day she flashed on me for answering my phone while at the window.. Excuse me but I will answer my phone when I'm away from my baby and my husband is calling! And then today I was on the phone while in line and before I could even put my packages on the counter or tell my friend to hold on she snapped at me again for being on my phone.. I told her she doesn't have the right to tell me if I can be on the phone or not! Then she said oh yes she did and that if she wanted to she could kick me out, then pointed to the sign.. There is a sign that says so but seriously come on! So then she said "don't you shove those packages in my face" wow really? This is how you talk to your regular customers accompanying a small child? I've always thought ragging on the local post office was bad form. This post office has been great until around a month ago when there was a staff change out. I despise going to this post office. There are constantly long lines. The self-service machine is often in need of repair and out-of-use. The employees are understaffed and almost always irritated and sarcastic about everything. C'mon people, if you hate your job so much, move on-- don't take it out on the customers. I have actually had several pieces of mail, sent from this location, go missing over the years-- only to be returned to me or arrive at its destination several months later once hope was lost. Parking situation is horrendous-- you must park on the street or in the shared lot that charges much more than it should. This location is the closest one to me and easy to walk to when really needed, but I almost always prefer to just take the extra time and go to other locations anymore. read more

I've normally had no issue with this post office other than the extremely long lines. Normally, the employees seem like they are at least attempting to be friendly. I had to write this review because I just called them, knowing it was after normal hours to see if they happened to have extended holiday hours. The woman answered screaming "WE'RE CLOSED". This is the worst post office I've ever been to. Unfortunately it's the closest to my work so my boss often has me go here for her. The employees are so unprofessional!! Major attitudes and big chipped finger nails! Gross! Stop scratching your head as your helping me! I've been here a few times before 9 am (opening time) and EVERY time they've opened at 9:05 or later! I wish they would fire these losers and get some real employees that care about their job!
