Today that I'm making this review is a Saturday and they close at 4. The clerk decided to "take her 1 hour break" at 3 and leave early for the day. They put a sign up reading "e back at 4pm" only the post office closes at 4, thus theyll never be back! Why treat the customers like idiots? Just close the front door at 3 since there's nobody tending the front desk!! OR take your break earlier and still come back like your job requires!! This is done repeatedly with no regard or consideration for anyone!! read more

This post office has consistently delivered the absolute worst service I've ever experienced at a post office. a) On two different dates/occasions I went there at 4pm, and there was a note on the front door, saying 'out for lunch'. My partner experienced the same thing on a third occasion. b) A package I sent a year ago from here got lost, never retrieved, and only a couple of months later an issue with another package sent from here. This never happened at my former post office in Irvington (NY) c) Today was the final straw - I came in around 3pm, and had a pre-paid and labelled package, there was a long line so I went up to the counter and asked very nicely if it was okay if I left it there (no need to wait in line unless you need a recipt). At first the postmaster clearly ignored my question, and when I politely asked again, she yelled "Can't you SEE I'm with a customer? Just leave the package!!" I said thank you and ducked out, the whole interaction was maybe 5 seconds, and so uncomfortable, and it left me feeling so anxious and I will never go there again, I'll go to Valhalla, or back to my Irvington post office instead...it's honestly not worth the stress. And the kicker? My package still hasn't started tracking and now I'm super nervous they won't handle it at all, as a punishment. At my former post office, these packages started tracking same day I dropped it. With their faded-out posters and patchy retail offerings, this North White Plains branch will do for when I have to purchase my Christmas and other seasonal stamps- quick. FYI, this isn't White Plains' main post office- so if you want to get your passports done, this isn't the place. For passport services, go to the main Fisher Ave. post office in downtown White Plains. With only two counter positions, the line queue can extend towards the back a bit. Breathe. Counter area has clear partitions for social distancing between you and the teller. I always relied on USPS to ship my care packages over to my daughter on the West Coast- but I've been depending more and more each time on a particular ground shipping company for all my shipments instead. But let's face it- service is spotty here- sometimes you just don't know who you'll get. Then again-isn't that always the case with most post offices? read more

I have moved a number of times and therefore have dealt with numerous post offices. I really sincerely doubt any 5 star post office exists, so they should be grading this on a curve. Anyways, since moving to this area, I've been to this post office 3 times... Each time just as slow as the last but again, I've never not had that be the case.. also, the clerks were not as miserable as at many other offices.... One was even nice! Each visit, only one clerk has been working. It is, comparatively, a small office because the primary White Plains post office is on Fisher. The outside building is quaint. It's on a corner and next to a CVS. There are a fair amount of street parking spots beside the corner building site. I'm not sure if there are anymore. read more

This is the absolute worst post office in the area, just spent 30 mins on line waiting to mail 3 envelopes.. one desk clerk was "working" while the other spent the entire time sitting at the counter pretending to read things on the computer, walking back and forth doing nothing, looking at the line of 10+ people waiting and seemingly enjoying watching all of us wait...and wait....and wait. 0/10 worst post office I have ever been to in my life. Very small post office. It was crowded and there was only one teller so there was a wait. I think they should have another teller to speed up the process, especially when you want to be in and out. Overall, an okay post office, but gets the job done. read more

If Yelp let you pick 0 stars that's what I'd use. As another reviewer wrote its 0/10. Every time I've been here the clerks have been rude. Today the clerk who was working when I went was placing an order on the phone for herself, then told the person taking the order "sorry I'm working", as I stood there waiting to be helped. i hate when i have to deal with the post office but i don't as much due to online postal service which is easy , fast and stress free but sometimes a visit to your local post office is the only option and on a friday morning in white plains it's got to be done . this post office on north broadway is away from the downtown area but it's still crowded and it's small inside with only one clerk window open and 7 folks in front of me waiting on line but thank the lord it's not that hot inside . the pros are that the side counter area has full amount of postal supplies if needed including that one pen tied to a dirty string and it's clean and organized as well , the negatives are the clerks are slow working and stink of bad attitude which i notice as a young nubian sista wanted to ask a question to the lady clerk who was also a sista but instead of being helpful gave a sarcastic answer to the young gal which pissed me off and the rest of the folks waiting big time , damn the usps . finally was able to get what i needed after a 15 minute wait and was on my way back home . the usps has been going down hill for years with its customer service , etc but it's still a service the american people need so just take a deep breath and try to deal with it . read more
