Veronica administers numbing eyedrops with ease. This is the second time Dr. Veena Arun has saved my eyesight. This physician is truly one of a kind, a true angel and a caring individual who is personable and helpful. Dr. Arun made the time today to see me on very short notice as a follow-up recommendation from Urgent Care to see Ophthalmology. Although Dr. Arun wasn't the on-call physician today, she saw me early. I am so grateful to her. Additionally, she alleviated my pain and suffering that I had after my Urgent Care visit. Dr. Arun patiently explained to me how the process works for my path going forward. She is such an exceptional doctor. I am very glad she accepted me today. Dr. Arun prescribed the correct Rx. Dr. Arun correctly diagnosed my condition. I implicitly trust her with one of the most vital organs - our eyes. What a brilliant ophthalmologist she is - and caring, too. Love this doctor. She helped me understand.

And last minute cancellations and no one is covering them. The ADA parking is out of code with the federal and state mandates. So if that is something you need, plan for extra time to find a reasonable parking spot, bring a driver or use a ride share. Parking is atrocious for anyone needing ADA parking. This used to be the premiere health care, or at least second. And they are consistently slipping from that. The level of customer service at the front desk, the amount of time the doctors actually spend with you, makes me wonder if they have switched to a for profit healthcare system. Not horrible. Better than healthcare say in Alabama. But. There is a lot of room for improvement.

I had seen a negative review beforehand that honestly made me a little tense, but it ended up being completely misleading compared to our experience. Thank you, Dr. Archambault, for your professionalism and care The office is also very nice and clean, you can tell they take care of their space!

We came in for a well visit for our daughter and discussed a few items with our doctor one of which was stomach issues which she was having for a few weeks to that point. Since this was a large concern of ours we asked for a CAT scan just to make sure everything is okay. Again this may be overboard possibly but we just want to make sure nothing major is going on. The doctor deterred our concern and said it will likely go away and the CAT scan isn't necessary. Well it's been over a month since that visit and our daughter is still complaining about her stomach. I call in to the office to get a referral at this point and what does the doctor say. We need to come in for another appointment and not only that but the representative said the stomach issues weren't even noted in her medical records. Im a business owner myself and to me this seems like a bit of a cash grab considering they're requiring another visit to discuss something we've already talked about (though apparently we didn't?? Hmm). One other cash grab item that disturbed me last visit was a cholesterol scan they 'recommended' but no one told us the results until we asked?? Again I just don't like the professionalism and not sure i understand the motives. Is it actually my kids health or is it what's best to benefit the corporation?

His empathy and attention to detail made a stressful situation feel much more manageable. What stood out even more was his dedication--he and his team advocated directly with our insurance company to make sure my husband received the care he needed. That level of commitment is rare and deeply appreciated. The entire staff is warm, friendly, and compassionate. We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Straka and his team.

About a year ago, I had a rise in blood platelets, and since for me it could possibly mean cancer,…read moreI made an appointment. Dr. Lamon ordered follow-up testing for a month later to track changes, and put me on a daily baby aspirin, since it can lower chances of colon cancer, something I have a predilection to. When I arrived for my follow up, I paid my copay and went back to the room to wait. He burst in and demanded to know how many tests I had done. I said I did whatever was on the order, just the one--he shoved a copy in my face and asked me to confirm and I said yeah, that was probably the one. He stormed out, yelling at the nurses as he went. They apparently ordered the wrong test and were supposed to order a second test as well, which they did not, meaning the appt was a waste of time since they couldn't tell me anything. He stomped back in and asked me if there was anything I needed--I had noticed that I started to sunburn more easily than normal (like fully burned and peeling after less than 40 minutes in the shade). I did my research and read several peer reviewed studies that showed daily aspirin could make people photosensitive. I have issue with the texture of sun block on my skin, cause it gets very sticky and takes really hard scrubbing to get it off, so I went to ask "I think the aspirin is making me burn easier. I know I need to wear sunblock, but I hate the feeling of it, are there any you recommend as a doctor that might not cause that issue?" I got as far as "sunblock, but" when he interrupted me and told me "It's stupid to think aspirin could that, and if you don't wanna wear sunblock I can introduce you to some melanoma patients who might change your mind." I have had three cancers. My mom has had 7. May dad has had 4, including skin, and this is all on my family history and should be stuff he is aware of. He walked out after that. Since they hadn't even had a chance to do my vitals yet, a nurse, Danica, who said she was head nurse, came in to do them. I told her "I will be getting a refund for my copay today." And related what happened. She apologized for his behavior and offered "since you already paid today, I can have the front desk mark that it's waived next time, unless you need the money now." I agreed to that, and spoke with Danica and the receptionist while I got my lab orders and everyone agreed to the arrangement. On the third appointment they asked to collect a copay, and I reminded them that I had spoken with her and Danica previously, and it should be waived for this appointment. She said she did recall the conversation and that she would waive it. I have spoken to them no less than ten times about this now, as they have been billing me monthly for the third appointment's copay, threatening to send me to collections, etc. If I call and leave a message with the billing department it gets ignored. Each time I get a live person and explain the situation to someone they agree that I shouldn't pay it, and finally, a year and a half later, I think I have finally managed to convince them by posting the above on their site review system. We'll see.

This review is for Palomar Health Medical Group overall. They experienced a data breach "on or…read morearound May 5, 2024" and notified those affected on October 15, 2025...1 YEAR and 5 MONTHS, after the fact. "The information potentially impacted by this incident includes your name and date of birth, diagnosis/Treatment information, health insurance information, medical record number, and patient account number." They provided a phone number to address questions that are not covered in the letter but the number provided (1-833-931-4455) is a direct line to Experian who can set up protection and they don't have additional information about the incident. Absolute joke! The letter does indicate you can write to PHMG at their Poway location but I doubt anything will ever happen if you do. Heck, they only waited a year and a half to notify those affected in the first place!

    1. They don't do what they say they're going to do with regard to referrals to other time-sensitive…read moreevaluations. You have to call and harass them about that. 2. There is literally no way to reach them by phone. You call and call and call and wait on hold for hours. Press 1 to be called back and you'll be immediately disconnected and never hear from them again. 3. They can't follow simple instructions for filling prescriptions in such a way that your insurance will cover them. The pharmacist I use even confirmed this for me; said she tried to explain it to whoever she spoke with on the phone and "was not able to get them to understand." (spoiler alert: IT IS NOT COMPLICATED). 4. They post hours online and on the door, but they aren't really there during those times so after you've been unable to reach them via phone and email, you can go there and be met with a LOCKED door when they're supposed to be open. Obstructionism at its absolute finest. These people need to go and work for the DMV and stay out of medicine, because they're treating patients with great negligence.
