Brought there coupon for 28.95 or 29.95 plus certificate for any car newer than 2000 as written on Coupon the employee goes to his manager and comes back and said can only give me $10 with coupon as car is a hybrid which the coupon says nothing about. They want to charge like $60. I approach the manager and point out the coupon doesn't list any restrictions for hybrids and this is false advertising. First he tells me I am rude and tells me I shouldn't be rude in front of my teenage son who was with me. I inform him I am teaching my son how to stick up for himself. He then tells me I can get the smog done for less elsewhere but offers to do the smog for $41 but not today sine management won't pay for overtime??? Keep in mind I called first and was told to come today. I said no thanks I don't support dishonest businesses. It took only a few minutes, the price was as shown on the coupon, and they spent extra time trying to help us with malfunctioning windshield washers. Not sure if I'm just expecting too much from a Smog Check shop, but I've been to other ones and I've never been talked to like this before.. I came here and the parking is kind of confusing because theres a car wash, a mechanic and a smog place all in a small area which all share parking spaces (as it seemed) but all the parking had signs that said for the car wash only. I didn't know where to park since I didn't want to block the garage so I parked in a car wash spot so I can go over to ask where to park. I get out of my car and walk up to the smog area and I told the guy working that I was trying to get an oil change and he rudely said move your car here like he was annoyed I was even there. So I moved my car and I park it and I open my door and he starts speaking slowly but loud as if I can't speak English and like he was talking to a kindergartner. "WINDOWS DOWN, WINDOWS DOWN". So I apologize and rolled them down and I start to get out but then he starts demanding in the same tone "KEYS IN IGNITION, KEYS IN IGNITION" but my car is push to start so I was confused so I told him that and he told me to just leave the keys in the car. I felt really disrespected and embarrassed even though I don't think I did anything wrong. He tells me to wait in the waiting area and that it would take 30 minutes. And mind you theres no one else there so its not like it was busy or anything because if so then sure maybe hes stressed because hes the only one but no there was literally no one else there for the whole duration of my visit. He finishes the car and once hes done he calls me over and I pay and when he gives me my card back he doesn't hand it to me even though I had my hand out he just puts it on the table for me to grab it (this one isn't a big deal but I still find it rude). And then once I finish paying he was nicer, but honestly I am so baffled as to what I did to deserve to be treated like that.. needless to say I will NOT be back ever. read more

I had two cars that needed smog checks. I printed out two copies of the coupon available on the US Smog website. The coupon stated that there would be an extra cost for SUVs. I took in the first car (small sedan), and Howard completed the smog check within about 25 minutes. I took in the second one (SUV), and he finished that one in about 20 minutes, even giving me a bigger coupon discount than was originally quoted (cost was only $10 more than for first car). When I got there, it took them over 45 minutes to do a smog check, then they charged me almost $60 and when I brought this up and told them that they said the coupon would apply, they told me to get out. Do not use these guys at any cost you are not saving money shady business practices, Called and asked if they had RED Asian coolant specific for Toyotas the owner replied yes bring it on down. Got here and the tech fumbled about did not use the drain petcock just ripped a hose off coolant every where completely filthy went to put coolant in and want to get put the wrong stuff in when I called them about it they had to send someone to get the right stuff . After they finished engine bay was a mess how do I know if it was leaking there is fluid everywhere and the reservoir is overfilled soon to overflow and make more of a mess . Its important to put the right fluids in your car /truck can cost way more in the long run. UPDATE the owner try to call I hung up on him. I had a horrific experience there. A man named Howard your me that I had to look him in the eye while he lied about why it would cost $51 for the smog check rather than $29 listed on the coupon. He told me after they began the process. I kept telling him that I didn't care and I just needed to leave but he got more and more aggressive. He told me that I should look at him in the eye while he lied. I kept trying to leave but my car was already being checked. First, if you don't pass, you still have to pay $60, Also the $29.95 coupon on their website is a complete lie. Total price is $72.99 + $8.75 for certificate. Then they will offer you a $20 discount if you complain about them not honoring the coupon. So you're still looking at $62.00 when all is said and done. Then they tell you that they are more expensive because they are STAR certified which is more BS as every station is these days and has to be in order to comply with the DMV. Be sure to go to a well respected chain to have your Smog Check done and never believe the online coupons. The advertised price of a $30 smog check is misleading. I was charged $58. In small print on the advertisement - you must also purchase an $8 smog certificate. Then there are additional charges for just about any car on the road except for an American made compact. Minimum price is $38 but very few actually will pay that, most will pay double or more. read more

Do not go here. This business lacks integrity and is just plain shady. I was quoted a price and when I arrived he asked for cash and hesitated when I said I was going to pay with card. He then says because I have a luxury car there's a luxury car fee. There are no different procedures for a luxury car, in fact with my 4 wheel drive car it doesn't have to go on the roller which saves them time. Please save yourself time. I found this place online with a coupon of $29.95. I went there at 7:30am Saturday morning based what the website said about the opening hour. The guy was not in a pleasant mood. He must not have his morning coffee or something. He told me the technician will not be here until 9am. I asked him if I can leave the car there. He told me, in a rude voice, to come back at 9 claiming they don't have parking. I saw an empty parking lot and I thought maybe he doesn't really want customers. I thought I waited a little bit and see the the technician would show up early. By 8am, he flagged me to go to the back side of the shop and ask me for the car's registration. My 2004 Accord has to be smog at a STAR station. He told me for that, it will be $79.95 and the coupon was $10 off. That is much more than the $29.95 coupon price. So if anyone requires smog check on the STAR station, be prepared to pay $69.95 or more for "luxury cars". Obviously I did not get the smog done there. The guy was rude. Went to the Irvine location. Web site said they open at 7:30. Got there at 7:10am first in line. The front door says they open at 8am. A sign with an arrow pointing to the service bay says Smog checks start at 7:45. The first employee rolls in at 7:40am and calls over to me asking if I need a smog check. I said yes. 100% FRAUD! Stay away from this place!!! Came in with a $29.99 coupon to get a SMOG Check. They have a sign outside displaying the cost of the SMOG check for $29.99. The guy Howard who right away states that he's just an employee and has no control over the prices (which is BS) tells me the cost of the smog check is $68 because my car is "luxury". It's a beat up Subaru that is 13 years old. I wanted to get it over with so I agreed. Howard said it would take 10-15 minutes. It took them over an hour. Then when it came to making the payment, he kept asking me to pay cash instead of paying with a card because he saw I had cash in my money clip when I took it out. Worst experience ever. I came here at 9am today. It's somewhat hard to find a Smog Center open on a Sunday and this one was open and close by. When I arrived, a man without a mask on came right up to my driver's side window and asked that I roll down the window. He was not standing 6 ft away. I was then immediately told that I would need to wait 45 min even though there were no other customers there. I agreed. He then went to get a clipboard and proceeded to fill it out, stating the smog test would cost $58 even though the sign out front advertises it as $29.95 + $8.25. He stated this was with a $10 discount. I asked why it was so much and he stated that this was an SUV. He had tacked on $20? I said I would go elsewhere and he stated "Please do." Unfriendly, rude, dishonest, with very poor customer service and little to no regard for other people's time nor their safety. I would give 0 stars if I could. On their website and when you call them they claim that they can do your smog test for $29.75 with the coupon, but when you go in person they say your vehicle does not qualify for the coupon and will hike the price to $68 by adding a bunch of certificate fees. Brought my car in to US Smog after getting it serviced at the dealer, and the person who checked it said the car failed because I hadn't driven it 200 miles since its service. He charged me $70 for the check (since it was a diesel), and told me that it would be $45 for the second check. When I brought it in the second time, after driving the car 250 miles, the technician checked it, and told me I needed to drive it 200 more miles. Fed up, I took the car to Jamboree Smog, and they checked it and said that I didn't need to drive the car any more miles, but that the car needed to to have 12 more cold starts. They were extremely friendly and helpful, and because the car didn't pass, they didn't charge me a penny, and even if the car did pass, they were only going to charge me $40. read more
