4/20/2020 - HIGHLIGHTS: Miyuki Carter- visionary Kitchen Designer; Fabuwood - best kitchen cabinets for the money; USA Cabinet Store Installation Team - craftsmanship reflected in the details. My coworker recommended USA Cabinet Store based on his recent kitchen remodel experience, so we stopped by one evening. Tarik introduced us to one of his kitchen designers, Miyuki Carter (pronounced "Me-YOU-Key"), and we set up an in-home consultation. Miyuki helped us overcome obstacles by endorsing our tentative ideas and incorporating them into her vision for our kitchen. For example, I wanted to remove the pantry and hall coat closet to open up the kitchen, but thought it would be too expensive. My wife wanted to remove a knee wall in an adjoining room. There was no sales pitch. Miyuki seemed to care as much about the outcome as we did and her thoughts echoed are own. Her final 3D design was beautiful. We chose the highly rated Fabuwood brand of cabinetry. While they aren't custom, they are an excellent value. They use quality Blum hinges, wood construction, and they're manufactured locally. I initially thought we would buy full custom cabinetry to get access to high-end glazes and custom widths; however, it made more sense to spend additional money on more visible things like demolition/construction, a fancy hood, cabinet hardware, countertops and backsplash. The USA Cabinet Store installation team that came to our house was very good. While they primarily spoke Spanish, we were able to communicate effectively. The lead guy was meticulous when it came to carpentry and I learned that he is actually a master craftsman from Venezuala who came here for economic reasons. He showed me photos of his family's shop back home along with some of the work he has done and he truly is an artist. One side note: the Corona Virus Pandemic hit the week they started construction, but the guys brought masks and worked through it. It's difficult to capture all that transpired and condense it into a single review. For couples like us who don't really have "extra" money lying around, a kitchen remodel is stressful. We spent nearly 10% of the value of our home on a single room, we each had different priorities, and our decisions needed to make us happy for several years while also adding value to our home in case we needed to move. Miyuki Carter and the USA Cabinet Store patiently guided us through that difficult process and helped us realize our dream. I highly recommend using them for your next kitchen or bath remodel. ************* 8/12/2020 Update: We identified a few items that needed adjustment under warranty, Tarik arranged a time for his team to come out and make the adjustments, and all is still perfect nearly 4 months later. *Comment on communication* We have worked with a few contractors over the last couple of years and we've learned to roll with schedule changes and less than stellar communication. With USA Cabinets, whenever we had a concern we'd call Miyuki or Tarik and they would sort it out. We also learned that regular communication with the installation team kept us informed and prevented a lot of worry. I believe my ignorance of the complexity of the project led to some unrealistic expectations at the beginning, but those were quickly sorted out and we are truly happy with the end result. read more

USA Cabinet Store - Completed Kitchen - Kitchen & Bath Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

We do not recommend this establishment. Brian shows a lack of professionalism as a designer and is unresponsive to inquiries. Angelo, one of their contractors, provided a very disappointing experience; his crew was highly unprofessional, unresponsive to phone calls and emails, and disrespectful in my residence. There is concern that they might claim they ordered the wrong part and then disappear for a long time. Additionally, they reportedly employ underage Spanish minors, which raises questions about the legality of such employment. read more

The Chantilly store did a very poor job of scheduling appointments and keeping them, and worse job of communicating. What started out as a fairly decent experience (they have a decent showroom with nice examples) went progressively downhill. Our initial visit to their showroom in Chantilly was met promptly by one of their designers, however, first impression was that he was very new to the business, but seemed to know some of the products they were representing. Before leaving, we scheduled an in-home visit for him to come look at the proposed bathroom and kitchen renovations about a week later. I had not heard back from him promptly to confirm the appointment, and therefore I reached out to his manager (who also did not have the courtesy to directly respond to me). But apparently my message made its way to the designer, who I'm pretty certain completely forgot about the appointment he scheduled. Following the home visit, we were told that 3D renderings would be prepared, and that a follow-up appointment would be scheduled for us to come into their showroom again to discuss. Perhaps one of the few positives was that the the designer sent me a message a few days later to day his renderings were done, and invited my wife and I to come back into the showroom, but we couldn't visit until a week later due to my schedule. As soon as we arrived on our scheduled follow-up visit, one of the other Chantilly store representatives seemed surprised that we were there to meet with the designer, saying that he was working at their Fairfax store that day. UNBELIEVABLE! Nevertheless, he got in touch with the designer, who finally made his way out to the Chantilly store over 30 minutes late!! But perhaps the worst part of the meeting was despite having plenty of time to prepare decent 3D renderings, he only really had one prepared (he promised at least a couple of different ones), and the renderings were terrible quality and something a child would develop. Despite all of this, we were still willing to talk to him and discuss options. The latest update was that he would prepare additional renderings, and said he would talk to his manager about final estimated costs. At this point (over a week later), we still haven't heard back from him, so obviously they don't consider us a serious customer. What a disappointing waste of nearly 3 weeks time, and even more disappointing after seeing other positive reviews; I just we just weren't lucky. That said, I have had a positive experience with another renovation company, and will go with their service instead; others had much better estimated pricing anyway. I'm glad I talked to other companies out of due diligence. read more

I could not recommend this place more if you're looking to renovate your kitchen. Fatima, one of the designers here, was phenomenal and a pleasure to work with. She incorporated the ideas I had in a gorgeous design that that also kept function top priority. Tariq, the store manager, was also wonderful in keeping everyone on the construction side on schedule, finishing the whole project quicker than we expected (in about 5 weeks). Everyone here was honestly a pleasure to work with. What was most surprising is how the end result looked better than what the already great 3d designs looked like during early stages. read more

We are extremely satisfied with our new kitchen. We started with a small kitchen with a layout that was not conducive to cooking with more than 1 person in the kitchen and limited space, plus dated cabinets in a wood color we did not like. Additionally there was a decorative soffit (with absolutely nothing inside) and a small wall that closed our kitchen from the entryway. Miyuki was our designer and she created a model of our new kitchen in a way we never thought of ourselves. She even created a pass through into our dining room, further opening up our kitchen. Working with her was great because she kept our budget in mind every step of the way and she helped guide our decisions on granite, tiles, and pulls to bring everything together. Sean was our project manager and he kept in constant communication with us. When our flooring person fell through, he was able to get his flooring guy to come help us on short notice. We had a few delays due to lumber and materials shortages, but the finished product was worth the wait. The crews who worked in our house were competent and polite. All our neighbors are jealous of our new kitchen - it's become a popular hang out spot! read more

We worked with Miyuki at USA Cabinet Store to remodel our kitchen after a neighbor recommended her to us. Miyuki is FABULOUS! She is incredibly talented, detail-oriented, and was always reachable throughout our project. She doesn't use a cookie cutter design and does a great job tailoring her input to the client's personality and style. She was responsive to our needs, but provided ideas of her own as well, almost all of which we ultimately incorporated into the final design. Eric was equally motivated to deliver and was also responsive to our questions and requests. Richard and his crew were absolutely outstanding and were the stars of the project. They are amazingly hard workers, skilled at their craft, take pride in their work, clean up after themselves every single day, and are respectful of your home. Our kitchen remodel was a complete gut and involved modifying the overall footprint. From start to finish, it took a mere 3 1/2 weeks and the finished product was perfection. My wife and I were shopping around for kitchen cabinets and found ourselves in the USA Cabinets showroom on a Sunday. We met with Patrick and he kindly walked us around the store explaining the differences in both quality and pricing for the cabinets in the showroom. We were looking for something that was semi-custom and had a very strict "do not exceed" budget in mind. After some managing of expectations vs. budget and multiple price quotes from Patrick showing us our options my wife and I decided on a beautiful white cabinet that was actually RTA but with Patricks help we were able to achieve a high-end/customer look. It had all soft close doors, was a solid wood box and had a classic style at a great price point. The delivery and installation was quick and easy. They showed up on time and cleaned up well when they were done. I worked with the foreman on the punch list and the word "no" or any indication of pushback never came out of his mouth. They replaced a door because of a scratch in the face, after it was replaced I sent a picture of the handle that didn't exactly look centered, they quickly came out and replaced it again....no haggle type questions asked. The service was great, the pricing was very competitive and my wife couldn't be happier with her new kitchen! If we move, there is no question that I'll end up here again if our kitchen needs to be remodeled. read more

My husband and I bought a house in March 2020, and after a lot of research and estimates from multiple companies, we went with USA Cabinet Store in Chantilly for our kitchen remodel. The design (done by Miyuki) was great for the small space, the materials were beautiful, and the workmanship (when it was finally finished several months later) was well done, all of which is why this rating is not lower. Our main issue was with the extremely poor communication and lack of professionalism by the people in charge of executing the design (Tarik and Bryan), which would put this rating into the negative stars, if possible. Throughout the entire process, we had to initiate communication to find out how long it would take for certain items to arrive, find out when the workers were coming (back), and determine how long it would take to finish the project. Because this all took place during the start of the quarantine, we definitely did our best to be patient and give the team grace...however, we drew the line at Bryan (whom we actually had not met until this particular day) casually walking into our house without any notice or introduction - and without a mask! - and having to be called out about doing so, about which he apologized, and was appropriately covered thereafter. We also took umbrage to the workers showing up one day without any notice! Thankfully, my husband was working from home and was able to let them in during a break in his phone calls. These were the worst offenses, but there were plenty more that result in this low score, and in our decision to not use this company for our bathroom remodel. As I said, the design team is talented, and the men who did the work did a great job. But poor professionalism in the business office makes me say "go elsewhere." read more

OK - so we'd been to all sorts of cabinet stores during our re-do our Master Bath and Closet journey. It wasn't until we ran into Patrick at USA Cabinet Store that our design really came together. We were having trouble visualize exactly what anything we selected would look like in the space... and Patrick in a couple of minutes was able to put the cabinets we were interested in up on a big screen in a 3D visualization. We were sold - - - and when we saw the price we couldn't believe how reasonable it was for the quality of the cabinetry. The cabinets look amazing in the bath - we went with Merlot Fabuwood. Is it possible to give 0 stars? Nope! Our experience at USACabinet was painstakingly miserable - mistake after mistake. We really liked the sample cabinet - Wolf Designer (Hickory + glaze) and placed the order. What a regret! The misery started as they missed the delivery date by several days causing scheduling issues with both the granite counter top measuring (separate company) and the contractors installing them - STRIKE 1. Unfortunately, when the order was delivered the cabinets were literally 2-tone - NOTHING like what the sample looked like! Posted pics to a Twitter account - https://twitter.com/RT_Leesburg. They got the manufacturer involved and after nearly 2.5 weeks basically said - tough luck that's how hickory is. We were offered a 1-time cabinet re-make but with absolutely no guarantee they would be any different or paying for a whole new cabinet. Wow - not blown away by their customer service - STRIKE 2. We decided to order new cabinets because we were not willing to chance the 1-time re-make. However, looking at the paperwork and discovered they sat on the order for 2 weeks before placing the order even after me chasing them for nearly a week and stopping by the store twice - STRIKE 3. Another oversight on their part?! Given their track record it wouldn't surprise me but more likely a petty attempt at retribution. So from original order to final delivery took - 3 months! Hopefully our experience was the anomaly but when it rains...it pours. Brace for impact if your order starts to go sideways!! And if nothing else from this post - lesson learned that Hickory is 2-tune unless painted!! read more
