My daughter had the company install carpet it her house and reported a positive experience, so I called Boyd whom she dealt with. After been a week I didn't hear back from them, so my wife and I stopped by the showroom. Boyd was at his office and showed us several carpet samples. He sent us an estimate four or five days later. I called him to make the purchase. The next step involved rather "businesslike" employee who came out to measure the two rooms. Boyd told me he would let me know when the carpet arrived to their warehouse. After about a week and 1/2 of not hearing anything, I called Boyd. Lo and behold, the carpet was there and had been. This was the second example of the lack of communication from the company. My wife suggested that I call Boyd to confirm that the scheduled installation would indeed happen. It didn't occur to me to do that, because I guess I''m trusting. Boyd was was out of the office. The receptionist said that she would contact the warehouse manager, who was also away from the office, and that she would call me back with confirmation. She never called me back either! I called the company the second time that day and was able to reach, I believe, Tina who confirmed that the carpet would be installed on the scheduled day. No explanation as to why no one had called me back. A couple brought the carpet out on Thursday and spent much of the day installing it. They worked steadily. They were fine to deal with other than their lack of English which was a bit of a problem. It appeared that they did a good job installing the carpet and cleaning up. I wish I had checked more closely how they replaced the furniture once the new carpet was in. Three large pieces of furniture were not put back like they originally which makes it difficult or impossible for me to use a large drawer and watch television at the right angle. As you can gather, my main problem in dealing with the company was their lack of communication. No one from the company called me back on three occasions! Nor have I heard from them with any sort of follow-up. In addition to being frustrating, this obviously makes it difficult to do business with them.

So, I called Roberta the owner about my problem and he told me he would get someone on it and that it would be about $200 or $300 when he had a chance. 2 or 3 weeks go by with phone tag and no one showing up. I took off for a 4 day stay in the mountains to help someone out from hurricane Helene. When I got back more promises and still no one showed up. So, I called around and got a hold of Maurice a guy that did floor repairs for other businesses that put floors in. Maurice stated that his standard price for repairs was $300, he took longer than expected and the pieces that had saved for this issue had swollen so they did not fit and Maurice had to modify and return to repair it. Maurice mentioned that Roberta's crew did a good job on the floor installation, but that I paid too much for my floor. Going prices was $7 a square ft. in 2018 not $11. a square ft. I tend to barter with car sellers and roofers, now I will barter with everyone. So, in short if you have a problem with your flooring, Roberta owner of Tri Point Flooring will have you hanging. If I live here long enough to refinish the flooring guess who I will not call?

We will need to refinish the entire 1st floor all over again!!! *Caution: After the problems became evident, I asked Mr. R. for a copy of the 1-year warranty. We paid for it and yet he REFUSED to provide it! Then came a disturbing e-mail from Mr. R in which he asked me to remove my online reviews of his company in exchange for providing the warranty info. He said, "...remove all online reviews" in exchange for "giv[ing] [me] detailed warranty info, ...". I wonder if this warranty even exists. In the future I'll always ask for the warranty UPFRONT. ALERT- Tri Point's Approach to Summarizing Google Reviews Tri Point just unveiled a new "corrected" summary of their Google Reviews after my "1 Star" posting in which I noted they reported NONE of the 9 "1 Star" reviews (see attached screen shot). What's new? 1) Overall score adjusted downward from 4.9 to 4.8 Stars and 2) "1 Star" reviews have magically appeared while "3 Star" reviews have now disappeared from their bar graph. Interestingly, their summary of detailed reviews excludes all but 1 of 9 "1 Star" and all reviews below "5 Star", i.e., 14 "4" and 2 "3" Star. I would NEVER have hired Tri Point had I known of this deceptive practice. I'm smarter now and won't so easily in the future allow the wool to be pulled over my eyes. I ask Mr. R. to reach out and correct mistakes I may have inadvertently made in this Alert. 1. Tri Point Failed to Keep Their Promise to Refinish in 4 Days. Crew's negligence caused weird staining on floors. Mr. Rivera said floors need to be fully refinished again. But we expected the first refinishing would provide a " .flawless execution that meets & exceeds [our] expectations" as stated on Tri Point's website. 2. Mr. Rivera's Opinion of Quality of His Crew's Work His on-line reply to this review states "...the floor did not represent our usual quality of work". During his visit (see photos) he said: "All very weird"; "Very, very embarrassed"; "Something happened during application"; "...applicator was a bad applicator"; "The applicator in the van got contaminated...cross contamination"; "These are lap marks"; "...A huge inconvenience [for] you"; "I know this is overwhelming"; "I couldn't accept this". Mr. R did not perform a final inspection of the refinishing, and it seems neither did a crew member. 3. Mr. R's "solution" Refinish the entire 1st floor for a 2nd time. 4. Impact of a 2nd Refinishing on Homeowners We work from our home offices and cannot close our business for 2 consecutive weeks. Moreover, a 2nd refinishing would require a repeat of the entire process, e.g., close business for a week, pack up 1st floor belongings, place all furniture in storage, disconnect washer/driver/refrigerator, move to temporary housing for a week, clean dust (e.g., walls, windows, cabinet doors and drawers, floors), and move back in. 5. Mr. R's Refusal to Engage in Direct Communication Following my Yelp review Mr. R. posted it's important to have direct dialogue with folks. Yet, he has refused all my requests for such a dialogue & conveyed this by e-mail- "...No further communication is needed." 6. Failure to Disclose All Costs for Refinishing We were not told that following replacement of shoe molding (aka 1/4 round) there would be a visible unpainted gap along all 1st floor baseboards. Mr. R. later acknowledged he knew this problem would arise and we had to sort this out for ourselves. 7. BBB Rating Had I checked I would have discovered a B- rating and that would have been a deal breaker for me. Current rating has dipped to D+ as a result of my complaint that BBB describes as "Not Resolved". 8. Is Mr. Rivera In Unilateral Breach of Contract? I'm not an attorney so I can't answer this question. But Final Invoice balance = $0 and is marked "Paid". While we've met our obligation, Mr. R refuses to provide a copy of the 1 Year Warranty so that we may understand options for mitigating floor failures during this period.

The estimate he provided was far more detailed and thorough than any of the others we got. They were very fair as far as price, too- there were a lot of people charging a lot more for less detailed estimates. He explained what we could expect from day one through completion of the project, which made it really easy to manage our expectations about when we would be able to use our (only!) shower again. We went to their showroom and Heath guided us through the tile picking process, which initially seemed overwhelming but he made enjoyable. He coordinated with our plumber, and handled the painting crew. We are thrilled that the process was so smooth! We would hire Flooring by Design again in a heartbeat.

I was slammed at work and they offered to have their Flooring Specialist with their Mobile Showroom Division meet me at the property! Drew met me on time (when does that ever happen!) with a great selection of samples! He was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very quickly narrowed down what would be the best for durability and in my budget! We set up the whole project in a few short taps on his iPad and it went flawlessly!!! Drew was awesome to work with! He was pleasant, knew his products extremely well, didn't waste anytime and was very responsive with follow up questions etc! Uploaded photos. We had a Karastan LVT flooring installed on our second floor; the total cost for…read morematerials and labor was over $17,000. Since then, we've run into multiple problems, and honestly, it's been incredibly frustrating. Problem 1: Promised One Thing, Got Another We chose a more expensive floor than we originally planned because we were told it had a flush stair cap trim piece. That was important to us because we wanted a seamless, flush transition at the top of the stairs -- no overlap. The flush pieces were on our order and we paid for them. But when the installers showed up, they used an L-shaped piece that created a noticeable lip. When we asked about it, they told us a flush piece didn't actually exist for that floor. So basically, we paid more based on bad information, and there's nothing they could (or would) do to fix it once the floor was already being installed. Problem 2: Boards With Permanent Marker Some of the boards that were installed have purple marker lines under the clear coating. We were told it happened during manufacturing and couldn't be cleaned. The installers admitted they should have caught it and not used those planks. They offered us a few hundred dollars off or said they could replace them, but doing so would require ripping up a large section of flooring, which could cause more damage. They planned to reuse the removed boards, even if they were damaged in the process. Since there wasn't enough extra material to replace them all we'd have to pay for additional boards ourselves if we didn't want them to reuse what they ripped out. We decided not to risk it, covered those boards with furniture and rugs, and took the discount. Problem 3: Gaps in the Hallway In the hallway, 4 boards were cut too short. So now, when the humidity changes, they shift, leaving a 1/2" gap between the floor and the shoe molding, exposing the subfloor. That's about two feet of wall with subfloor showing for half the year. They tried to fix it by gluing and nailing the boards down, but that only worked temporarily. Again, the solution offered was to tear up a big section of the floor, but with the usual warning that it might cause more damage. So once again, we left it alone. Looking back, we probably should have taken the risk of further damage and let them replace those 4 boards. It looks awful. Problem 4: Boards Separating in the Bonus Room In our large bonus room, about 20'x24', some of the boards have started separating, leaving visible gaps. At this point, I haven't even contacted them about this issue, based on how the other problems were handled, I'm not optimistic that anything helpful will come from it. So this one is on me. This year, when we replaced the floor on the main level, we went with a completely different company. When we showed them photos of the upstairs install, they were shocked and told us we should have filed formal complaints and probably could have taken it even further. Honestly, the whole process took so much time, stress, and energy that we just didn't have it in us to keep pushing. If you're considering working with them, be careful, make sure you can actually get what they promise, and keep a close eye on the installation. After reading other reviews, I'm really hoping this was just a bad install crew and that they're no longer around.

We contracted with Molina Carpets, Inc of Garner NC mid January 2026 to install carpet upstairs and…read moreMarmoleum Cinch Loc Plank n the kitchen and downstairs. The company was great working with us by phone, email, and coming to the house to assess things for the project! After installation and payment, though, communications were slow and things weren't addressed to correct problems. Carpet has unlevel ragged seams, gouges, puckers, and missing padding. Downstairs planks squeak, snap, and sound hollow with ridges and cracks appearing right away and getting worse. Pictures and measurements shared with the manufacturer and Molina (who talked with them) determined that the sub floor is the reason for the floor failure. Manufacturer required guidelines stated on the store contract were not followed. The solution is to pull up the planks, flatten the concrete sub floor, and install new planks. Unfortunately, Molina wouldn't do that. Our 25 year manufacturer wear warranty is voided. We're upset asbestos tiles (tested positive) and vinyl sheet flooring to remain were pulled up - putting our health at risk. After four months of asking for things to be made right, we asked for a refund. A conditional refund offered would let Molina take the defective flooring and have us promise to not speak of our experience (see the CRFA at the FTC site about this). We feel that people should know about our experience. We can't stand walking on the floor and seeing it get worse and worse. We will have to go to a different company to get replacement flooring at our expense. We would not recommend Molina.

The job was completed professionally and efficiently. The second time service is to replace a worn down carpet in a small room. Tom came out three times to get the best match of the color based on my request. He is very patient, professional and pays a lot of attention to details. The price is also very reasonable. I really appreciate when the business is getting the job done correctly no matter how big or how small it is!

After getting…read morea quote from a local competitor, we decided on Floor Masters because they were cheaper after including a Duke 10% discount that Marcus alerted us to. We appreciated the promptness of measuring our kitchen and providing a quote. Unfortunately, after paying the first half as a down payment, there were delays in the shipment of materials that pushed the installment back 11 days. We felt that Marcus' communication during this time could have been better, particularly since it left us without a stove for over 2 weeks. The final product (pictured below) looked good overall, but we were disappointed in a couple of the decisions with quarter rounds that looked funky. Marcus did get someone out to fix it within 24 hours. The final charge wasn't what he initially quoted, but that was remedied with a few emails. Overall, Marcus' communication was not what we were hoping for, and we likely won't be going back to Floor Masters.
