Tour guide Mr. Dion showing his new training how it's done
    Loraine D.

Rating: 5.0 03/2025 Booked the Discover DC tours online via third-party. It was discounted and it was very easy. In no time I received an email with my tickets and I printed them and downloaded the E ticket on my phone. The day of the excursion we made sure we were early on the meeting site . There was a line for check-in for they give you different color wristbands based on the type of tour you paid. We were fortunate enough to be with Mr. Dion as our tour guide and Mr. Calvin (he would "come on down" as if we were in a game show )as our driver. The bus was comfortable, very squeaky, but they provided us with water throughout the day. Mr. Dion was knowledgeable and funny and very thorough. He took attendance with each and every stop and inside the bus. He used a microphone inside the bus and who was learning clear outside. We saw so many things and so many places in six hours . I am grateful for the water and the bathroom breaks. The tour allowed us to get from one place to another without the hassle of driving or taking an Uber or finding parking. I definitely recommend!

So informative. Derrick was nice and knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend to others!

We went on the USA VIP Tour + U.S. Capitol & National Archives Entry, and it was absolutely fantastic, especially because of our guide, Sam! From the start, Sam made the day so much fun. He stopped with us at all the major monuments around Washington, D.C. and shared great stories and fun facts that really brought everything to life. His knowledge and energy made each stop memorable. One of the highlights was our visit to the United States Capitol and the National Archives Building ....such an incredible experience! What truly stood out, though, was how far Sam went above and beyond. I accidentally lost my phone, and while we continued on our Capitol tour, he went back in the pouring rain to retrieve it for me. That level of care and dedication meant so much and turned what could have been a stressful situation into a story I'll never forget. Sam truly made the day unforgettable. If you're considering this tour, I highly recommend it.... and definitely ask for Sam if you can, he's a great photographer too!

Wonderful tour! Sylvia and Dion 13 were great guides. I highly recommend this tour! Dion is super knowledgeable and engaging. You get to see so much in 3 hours.

We had the best day ever on our DC tour thanks to Evan and John! Evan is truly an exceptional guide...incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and so patient with our family. He brought every monument and story to life in a way that made the day unforgettable. You can tell he loves what he does, and it made all the difference. And a huge thank you to John, our driver, who was professional, attentive, and kept everything running smoothly. His driving was safe, calm, and perfectly timed, making the whole experience seamless. This tour was the highlight of our trip. We left with amazing memories, learned so much, and had nonstop fun. We can't recommend Evan and John enough!

Me and my Friend went to the DMV for her birthday and we took THE BOX THE BUS TOUR and our guide was Raphael he was the best!!! Very informative, Patient and Detailed! The tour lasted 4 hours and I enjoyed every bit of it! The tour consisted of a tour of the capital, The White House, MLK Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and a tour of the best spots in DC and it is some special treats that are provided during the middle of the tour! You will not be disappointed!!

Great tour Reid our guide and Leonard our driver were great. Even with the security around the state of the union we got to all the stops.

He literally commented on everything we drove past. He presented well with interesting facts and just the right touch of humor to keep us all engaged. It was HOT all week, but the weather that evening was perfect. What a beautiful way to see the sights. The trolley was stadium seating and everyone had a great view. I sat on the driver's side and felt I had a great viewpoint to see most everything without obstruction. There were three stops. MJ gave clear instructions on when to be back on the trolley. The timeframe for the stops was short (the total tour was about 2 hours) but just long enough to see the attractions at each stop. What a great tour!

With the amount of secret service activities, I'm sure the company understands the amount of time and brain power required to maneuver families around the city. We booked Arlington with the old town trolley tour. We combined the old trolley and Arlington tour. However, the website allows you to book separate dates for the 2 tours. Before you go on the tour, use the map trolley tracker to plan and track trolley live. It acts like a map and will guide you to the various stops. If you're driving, make sure to choose a stop and find the public parking closest to that area in order to return to your car after the tour. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. The old time trolley will not drive you into Arlington. It will drop you at A1 spot to catch the Arlington trolley. Check the map consistently due to road closures. Other than that, I highly recommend you do this tour with the Arlington tour if you're tight on time in DC. Get off at strategic spot, see what you need to see, and move onto the next. From my observation, the trolley is not really wheelchair accessible. Person should be able to hop on and off without much assistance. There are other tour companies out there that might be better accommodating

We were lucky enough to be in a smaller van while others were in large busses, so our experience was more personalized. Dwayne knocked our socks off. He also knew his way round the current blockages/construction and was able to avoid politics while discussing the current construction which takes mad skills. He thoroughly answered any random questions we threw at him and had deep knowledge of subjects like the Red Cross and Clara Barton, I've volunteered with them for years and didn't know his fun facts. It was nice being a tourist in my own city, getting cute and girly with friends, and doing something different for the experience. The bus was on time, which I appreciated. The food, however, tasted a bit stale, and the entertainment on the bus was honestly kind of boring. I think the mic wasn't working well the afternoon we went because instead of sounding like singing, it came across more like screeching. The tea was cold, almost like iced tea, but I actually didn't mind because we were going over so many potholes. Hot tea spilling on me would've been a whole situation. Was it overpriced for the experience? Yes. But I got some good Instagram pics, had a cute day with my friends, and checked it off my list.

I did enjoy that parts of this tour. Didn't enjoy the "stories" so much. Would have liked more history. We got the bus the next morning and went to Arlington. When we finished we went to the stop, not such great bus timing. Their brochure said buses come every 15 minutes. After an hour of waiting we tried to contact BB to see what was going on? We did get another email telling us there are delays due to events. This is not okay we when have paid for a 24 hour pass that is not usable. All in all, our 24 hour pass was good for 3 hours. Reason for this? Maybe because only two buses run on Sunday. So unless you have the time to wait two hours for your next bus, it's not worth it! Do not use this service!
