I can't begin to say how great the monument night tour was. Ryan knew the city like the back of his hand and I loved the facts/stories he provided about each monument and other parts of the city. No doubt that Ryan enjoys what he does. Another plus is that he gave us facts, not his opinion, which is rare these days. Everyone wants to inject their opinions into everything. Ryan didn't attempt that at all and I found that very refreshing. Spent 5 days in DC and this was absolutely the highlight of our trip. I didn't want the tour to end. We got lucky, our tour group was small, 4 people plus the guide. Steve, the owner, was our tour guide and he was great! We visited all the major monuments; Lincoln memorial, Korean War memorial, Vietnam memorial, WW II memorial, Jefferson memorial, White House, Capital, Pentagon memorial, FDR memorial, Martin Luther King memorial. There are more that I'm forgetting too. We would never have been able to cover this much ground w/o using a tour. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Steve had a lot of interesting stories, so we were not bored. Our tour was at least 7 hours long which included 45 minutes to grab lunch (our expense). I had visited Washington DC at the end of June, and was free to explore on my own! While researching "what to do in this great city", I came across this "small" group tour with high ratings. I had visited the area before, but never saw all of the many monuments, or knew too much of the history behind them. I booked a few month's in advance, and Brian from BiPartisan Tour Company contacted me a few days out, as the original tour date needed to be changed to the next day, or two. No problem! Brian met me right on time and then we spent the next five+ hours, or so, going from monument to memorial, one after the other. I never could have covered so much ground on my own! My family wanted to do an evening monument tour in Washington DC and after first looking at those huge bus tours, we decided to book with Bi-Partisan, which wasn't substantially more expensive, was twice as long (and went to A LOT more monuments), and was a much smaller tour group. Brian picked us up right on time (ok, a little early, even!) at the meeting point and then we spent the next four hours or so going from monument to memorial, one after the other. We never would have covered so much ground on our own! We made it to the Capitol, Vietnam Memorial, World War II Memorial, Air Force Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and the White House. I'm sure I'm even forgetting a memorial or two there! We would come to a memorial and then Brian would give us time to walk around and take photos, with a time and location to meet back at the van at each site. He was great with pointing out restrooms, including the very clean ones maintained by the Air Force! Brian was a great tour guide - you could tell he was a former teacher, in the best possible way. We appreciated what he had to tell us about the different sites we went and he had my parents impressed with my trip planning skills, as most of his recommendations beyond the tour were accounted for in my planning. At the end of the night, he dropped us off at our hotel, which was much appreciated as it was around 11:30pm by then and we were all exhausted. If you have limited time in DC and want to visit as many monuments and memorials as you can, this is absolutely the tour to book. Hands down one of the best activities we have done in DC, if not one of the best activities ever! Brian was fantastic, helpful, and very accommodating. He took the tour group to so many locations in the city and his knowledge of history really brought all the buildings and monuments to life. I don't think we will look at DC the same way again. I'm in DC for a couple of weeks, so I decided to go on a tour with family during one of my free days to see the major attractions in the city. There are numerous tour companies with great reviews, and out of all of them, I opted for BiPartisan Tours since it caters to small groups and offers a morning tour (4-hour DC tour from 9AM to a little past 1PM). Our tour was this past Tuesday (3/15/17), and we rode in a blue and red Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van (I believe) that seats 11 to 14 people. Brian, the tour guide and owner of BiPartisan, was great! You can tell from from the beginning of the tour how enthusiastic and knowledgeable he is of DC and history in general. He doesn't just point at a historical building, statue, or monument then tell you "brochure-like" information--nope. Not only does he cover information while driving you from place to place, but before he lets you out of the van, he'll tell you interesting stories about the attractions to give you more context and history of the place you're taking a picture of/at. He's great at engaging everyone on the tour, so you're aren't just riding along quietly. Combined with his knowledge of the city, his humor and hospitality makes the tour enjoyable. At each stop, he gives you 10 to 20 minutes to walk around and take some pictures. He could help with photos if needed, but for the most part, he'll wait for you wherever he drops you off--giving everyone an opportunity to explore on their own. The official itinerary included the following places: Capitol Hill, the WWII Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Veterans' Memorial, Abraham Lincoln Memorial (with the iconic beautiful view of the Washington Memorial), Air Force Memorial, Marine Corps Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the White House, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial, and the Martin Luther King Memorial. We also stopped by the National Building Museum and strolled through the gift shop. While those are the places we officially went to, we also saw numerous other memorials, monuments, historical buildings, and government buildings along the way. He picked up my family and I at the Stephenson Grand Army of the Republic Memorial on 7th and Indiana, but he could also pick you up (and drop you off) if you are staying at "select hotels" if you choose that option while making your reservation. Outside of limited communication leading up to the day of the tour, everything went well. If you're interested, Brian also does a popular, "epic" night tour and a full day tour; he could also accommodate groups wanting a private showing, as well. Wow. I am going to try to do justice to how much we enjoyed our tour with this outfit. Brian, a former teacher, was our extremely knowledgeable guide. There was an issue with my tour time, and he was so flexible and accommodating that I was just completely floored by his kindness, and so grateful for his generous spirit!! My daughters and I were in the area for 2 days and I wanted them to see everything they could since it was their first time in DC. We ended up on the full-day tour, and that was the best thing that could have happened. We saw almost everything there is to see, and many of the stops were things I hadn't made it to in 3 previous trips to the area. We were given ample time to walk through the monuments, and Brian even gave tips on where to get the best photo opportunities. He gave great in-depth info about each monument or person before we set out to view them. He told the kids to look for small details at each place, so it was a little scavenger hunt for them. He then explained the significance of the details when we re-boarded the van. I appreciated the cleanliness of the van and the AIR CONDITIONING! It was in the 90s when we toured, and by the end of all that walking we were so hot and sweaty. It was a nice touch that Brian carried cold water in the back of the van for his customers. Just another example of his concern for his customers' experience and well being. During the ride between stops, he was a wealth of information, and shared many touching stories from encounters with veterans groups, etc. that he had taken around. He took us to a nice restaurant in Georgetown for lunch. It was reasonably priced and had a very good menu using locally sourced ingredients. Everything about the tour showed his desire to provide a top-notch experience for his clients. I highly recommend Bi-Partisan Tours to anyone who wants to see the highlights of DC. While waiting at Gallery Place for a seemingly mythical westbound X2 bus to show up, I saw the most peculiar thing: A couple of tourists were getting dropped off by a tiny, brightly colored electric car. Adorned with flags and streamers, a sign on it read "Free Tours." I approached with more hope than I knew would be rational. "Could you give me a tour of H St NE" I asked? The happy driver shrugged and said "I've never been there, but hop on!" Lyz grabbed the front seat. I hopped in the back. We strapped ourselves in and off we went, waving at the now scowling (crazy?) old woman who had recently informed us that gimpy pigeons were the sole cause of Hurricane Katrina. Some thing about harbingers and gangrene... Anyway, we merrily continued down H St, pointing at all the sights like quizzical pedestrians and grumpy drivers. The back seat faces backwards and the car is open air so you get a really great view of people trying to figure out what the hell you're riding in and why you aren't going any faster (the tour cars seem to max out a bit under the speed limit). It's a goofy thrill and oddly entertaining. the cars only seat 3+ a driver, so it's a very private public tour. You become the center of attention. I waved. Sometimes like the queen, sometimes like a rock star. It was good. Lyz and I had a great time. The driver works for tips alone, so we gave him $10 for the tour back to our neighborhood. We looked up the website at home and found out that they also let you rent the cars!!!! I want one. I really do. If you happen to see one of these out and about, I highly recommend taking a ride... even if only for a few blocks. They do give real tours, but the novelty of riding around on one of the silly cars is worth a good tip by itself. read more

So after my initial review, Bi-Partisan finally reached out to me and refunded my tickets in full along with an apology. With that said, I have revised my rating in the middle to be fair and then revise it again should I decide to do the tour depending on my timeframe. I have not experienced the tour yet but I am writing this in hopes to get Bi-Partisan to return all of my emails, phone message and text as nobody from their office is willing to fulfill my request to reschedule / cancel my paid for upcoming tour. If you book online PayPal is their preferred method of payment because you will end up paying a hefty surcharge using credit cards. That said it makes it more difficult to cancel or get a refund through PayPal as they want you to resolve the matter with the company first which apparently I cannot. I have petitioned and disputed my case to PayPal so hopefully they will have better luck getting in touch with them. And to think I was going to book the night tour with them as well...I don't think so. Bi-partisan if you read this please contact me asap to help resolve the situation and I would be glad to revise my review. I do not want my family's to be ruined before it even starts. read more

My wife and I are new to the DMV, so we booked a trip with this tour company through Viator. As advertised Brian, the owner and one of the tour guides, contacted me via text message the morning of the tour to confirm the location and timing of our pickup. He arrived without issue, picking us up from a hotel in Rosslyn, which was generous, considering that the other guests on the trip (totaling about a dozen people) were all in downtown D.C. The van Brian uses is spacious and comfortable, outfitted with a P.A. system so that Brian can talk to us about the various spots we are en route to visit, or personal and historical anecdotes he has about the city. Be aware that this is very much a guided tour through the major memorials throughout the city, so Brian talks more or less nonstop throughout the trip. He's eminently knowledgeable and chooses interesting stories to relate about American history; he clearly has done his research and strives to find new stories to tell to his guests, rewarding return visits. But if you're more interested in having a chauffeur to silently shepherd you throughout D.C. to the memorials, you may want to look elsewhere. Brian is enthusiastic about what he knows and loves to share it (being a former teacher, albeit in math), so be prepared to listen. Brian will answer questions you may have, but the conversation is mostly one-sided--fittingly, as he's the tour guide. We got picked up at around 6:20 p.m., and by the time we had picked up the rest of the other guests, we set out at 7 p.m., also as advertised. Brian dropped us off at our apartment in Rosslyn at close to 11:30 p.m., so this tour is lengthy one. It was a rather chilly night in early April, so we could have dressed more warmly, but do know that Brian stops at almost all of the major sites in D.C. to allow you to walk around and have a look. This is great, but don't go into the tour thinking you'll be nestled inside a warm vehicle the entire time. Bring walking shoes and dress in layers. We visited, not necessarily in this order, the Capitol, White House, Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Air Force Memorial, and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. At the end of the night, when my wife and I were the only ones left in the van, Brian kindly offered to take us to the FDR Memorial, which we declined since we were tired and we live in the area. We had seen most of these memorials before, but not with Brian's wealth of knowledge, which adds a considerable amount to the experience. For example, it's one thing to look at the Vietnam War Memorial, but to have someone explain to you its design, you feel the awe you're supposed to when faced with such a work of art. Overall, a great trip, one that you shouldn't shy away from even if you live in the area. Don't think that because the memorials are accessible that you've seen and know everything about them. P.S. Our original purpose was to show my Connecticut-based mom the memorials with this tour, but she was too sick to visit. Brian generously volunteered to refund her ticket, which we took him up on. He didn't press me to write this review; I asked where I could do so myself. read more

So make sure you are ready for any weather We opted for a shorter tour which was this one ( 4 hours). It was great. This tour has small groups, 14 people. The amount of monuments we stopped at was great. It was a stop & go tour, so you would go to a site and get off for an amount of time. Dustin our guide was VERY knowledgeable in his history. Wow. After buying the tickets, we received a text with coordination information. We were picked up at our hotel (we were in the zone), and the dozen of us on the van received an informative, fun tour of the city. Bryan got to know everyone. He provided historical and current information and stories about the sites and city. The time flew by. His intelligent commentary was also humorous and his style was conversational (which is very different different from tour companies we saw with guides yelling out facts at a huge crowd trudging behind). I visited DC for the first time Spring Break 2016. I visited with my kids 7 and 17 and booked the Moonlight Tour. When we arrived I had a hard time getting a hold of Brian but after we spoke Brian was great. He picked us up early at our Capitol Hill hotel in a beautiful, new van. We felt like VIPs. The tour was fun, informative and a lot longer than 3 hours. The EPIC evening tour was absolutely one of my favorite experiences in DC! The tour takes you to soo many monuments over 3+ hours. The van only holds 12ish people so it's very small and the guide (Brain)was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and not hokey like some guides can be.
