I brought an older New Home machine to this shop for repair. They said that the bobbin case was broken(which it was) and they told me they replaced it with a new one. Machine worked for a few times and then was doing the same thing again. It took it to another shop and found out the bobbin case was not only the wrong one for my machine but it wasn't a new one ( very worn). I belong to a sewing group. No one has had anything good to say about this business. One lady had to call the police to get out of the store. My sister had her machine there and it never worked afterward. The owner moved in to location of previous owner who had a very good reputation for 25 years or more. Stay from this business they don't know how to run a business. I should have read all the reviews before going there. I took my 1950s singer for some oil and cleaning. This people charge me over 230 dollars in things that the machine didn't need and for work that was not done. When I first dropped off the machine I asked him for an estimate he kept deflecting saying he needed to look at it. He took a 40 dollar deposit, next he calls me and tells me that it is done and that the bill is over 240 dollars. He didn't even call me to get my consent to perform the work or tell me what he was going to do. This machine has no electric boards parts and if you look at the bill he charged for electric adjustments. I look at the bill and check the sewing machine when I got home and noticed he charged for cleaning, greasing and oiling but on the motor the old black hard grease is still there. I took apart the pedal (foot control) and noticed that there is no adjustment other that cleaning it and oiling it. I wish I would have done the work myself. I honestly thing he overcharged for the work he did. It should had never been over 120 bucks in my opinion. This old singer machines are purely mechanical other than the electric motor he charged me like if the machine was a modern marvel. He even charged me for a bobbin which was already in the machine when I gave it to him. He also charged for a sewing test which makes no sense to me since if he has to do a repair or adjustment then he has to do a simple stich. I am not sure why that is even extra. Do yourself a favor and take your business some where else. If you read all the reviews here you will see that what I am talking about some other people have already gone through the same experience. read more

He didn't give me an opportunity to test it in the shop before leaving! He just told me it would work and brushed me off! Called and took it back, now he doesn't have time to talk to me! I have my grandmother's Singer Featherweight sewing machine. She was extremely proud of this machine that she purchased in the 50s. I took it to USA Sewing Machine for repair, cleaning and adjustment. I was in a hurry when I picked it up and did not look at the detail on the receipt until I got home. One of the charges listed in the detail was $29.50 to "Check Electronic Boards". What???? The machine is 60+ years old. Electronic boards did not even exist then. I called and inquired about the charge but they would not discuss it with me over the phone. The gentleman I spoke with said I would have to take the machine and the receipt back in and discuss it with them. This is very simple.....my 60 year old sewing machine dose not have any electronics. You charged me $29.50 to check out something that doesn't exist. Why would I need to go back there to discuss that? read more
