You should pay more, let me tell you why..... My husband and I went to our local Wal Mart and signed up for US Cellular service. Shortly after signing up our phone was destroyed. Teenagers!!! We tried to go back to the Wal Mart in Ankeny to purchase a new phone and was told that the only phones that were compatible with our service contract were the REALLY expensive ones that I don't think many people could affort straight out of pocket and due to the fact that our plan was a plan through Wal Mart we could not obtain a phone on payments. The only choice we had was a "camping phone". Apparently Wal Mart was no longer going to be doing that kind of service contract through US Cellular. We went to both of our local US Cellular stores and was just given the national number for customer service. Upon calling I got a very uncooperative man who advised me I could not shut off our service without paying a early termination fee (even though we had just paid our bill and had a $0.00 balance on our account). I tried to ask him if we could purchase a phone through them that we could use with our service contract or something. He advised me that no, I could not. They had NO phones that would be appropriate for our contract. At this time I told him we would no longer be doing business with US Cellular, he advised me that they would not shut off service and would continue to charge us a montly plan fee until me paid off the contract and early termination fee to get it to stop. Now, according to the last correspondence I received owe more than $200.00 for service we have NOT used due to not being able to purchase a new phone and to get them to stop we have to still pay the early termination fee. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this ratchet company. I am considering contaction the Polk County Attorney. This has got to be illegal on some level. read more

We are new customers to US Cellular. We were with Verizon for 15 years, but coverage at our house was continually getting worse. We have friends who have US Cellular and they have no issues when they are at our house so we decided to make the switch. After we got our new phones, they were slow in transferring over from iCloud, so I went to the store to see why that was. I got help right away. He answered all my questions and was super helpful! He got all our phones restored back in no time at all. I wish I could remember his name! He was great. Over the weekend, my phone 'forgot' a lot of my recent contacts. It was very odd and annoying. I called the Ankeny US Cellular store and right away talked to a person! I wasn't transferred to their call center somewhere else. I talked to someone at the Ankeny store which was very nice. Nick answered the phone and he knew exactly what the problem was. He explained it to me over the phone and within minutes my phone was back to normal. All that to say, I am super impressed with the customer service at our local US Cellular store. They know how to treat their customers and it is very much appreciated! read more

We switched from Sprint and the salesgirl was SUPER helpful. Would have been GREAT to know how to submit for the rebate so they pay off our early termination. I referred a coworker and the guy who helped her didn't tell her ANYTHING nor did he code her new account for the rebate. If you switch, make sure you ask about the early termination fee rebate and how to go about getting it because they WILL NOT tell you. The service is great (no dropped calls or slow internet) so they've got that going for them. read more

Terrible customer service. One of their agents ordered the wrong accessory which was shipped to my house. I went to return it for the correct one and they would not exchange it because it had been over 15 days. The store manager, Austin would not make an exception. I called the 1 800 customer service number and they are correcting the mistake and sending me the correct part - no charge. Now that's how you treat a customer who has been with you for over 19 years! Save yourself the trouble and do not visit store #3111 in Ankeny. read more

My phone was not charging correctly, so I stopped in to the south Ankeny store over my lunch hour to see what options I had. Jason was wonderful at helping me see what I could do to either replace my phone or upgrade. We decided to upgrade, but when Jason was attempting to process this, the computer repeatedly gave him an error saying I was ineligible for early upgrade, which was not accurate. I had gone to a premier location when I got the phone that was not operating well back in 2016 and believe that someone there marked my account as ineligible for early upgrades by mistake. Regardless, Jason spent hours of his time working to work through the problem and made multiple calls to their customer service hotline trying to get things corrected so that I could get a working phone. After customer service had "fixed" my account Jason went in again to start the new phone transition and again the computer was giving an error message saying I was ineligible. At this time, I had to go back to work as I had gone over my lunch hour. Jason then continued speaking with customer service after I left and got everything resolved, with the help of his manager Nick. He had everything ready for me to go when I stopped back in after work and was quick at getting me in and out the second time, knowing I had already spent nearly 2 hours there earlier in the day. Both Jason and Nick provided excellent customer service and advocated well for me when on the phone with the customer service hotline. Nick even said at one point, "Call customer service again. 'We don't know' is not an acceptable answer. The customer has done nothing wrong, and is eligible for the phone, so should be able to upgrade." That is not something you hear a lot from supervisors. Jason was exceedingly friendly and polite and continually thanked me for my patience and apologized for the issue, which was not even a fault of his. Thanks to Jason and Nick for going above and beyond and taking the time to get this sorted out for me in order to get me a new working phone! Highly recommend this location! read more
