****This consumer experience was had during the COVID19 pandemic.****…read more Important to note: This Social Security Administration federal office is currently open to the public HOWEVER please note, assistance is by appointment only. You can obtain an appointment in a few ways: Call their toll free number or attempt online. I made my appointment for today; Thursday over the phone earlier in the week because I phoned them to discuss a letter I had received from them recently. I learned that I had to present in person in order to conclude my business. Interesting was that the person who answered the call was also the person I met with today. I liked this because I felt more comfortable when meeting her as she was already familiar with my needs. Name changes are currently being processed here and by appointment only. You must present with your actual DMV drivers license and "original" stamped signed and dated by the court "seal" for some services like the name change. I'd phone them to get the actual list before presenting in person for an appointment. There was a line outside the front doors when I arrived but it soon vanished because everyone but one person wanted to see an employee for assistance. Once they were informed that was not the procedure they left. The environment was so peaceful. Security is on-site and I felt way more comfortable seeing and experiencing this as I was thoroughly screened for weapons. Made me feel super safe. Lastly, it can get costly to work on your Social Security paperwork by mail and today I learned they have over-sized postage paid, self addressed manila envelopes for the public available here. Good to see our tax dollars at work.

Honestly laughable. I went in to see if they still do same day appts. Looked like my odds were up. After 20-30 mins they called me back! I was so excited ; to find out they had me wait to 'help me' book an appointment. This review is more for entertainment. Have a Laugh with me ??. MAKING YOUR APPOINTMENT ONLINE IS YOUR ONLY OPTION. Modesto is booked out usually WEEKS/months. They told me Stockton is 1-2 DAYS out. & Manteca or Tracy is only a week or so out. best of luck for anyone ever trying to change their name before they gotta renew their license ...

We really try so hard around here don't we?…read more For a town known for American graffiti... Not really sure why we shied away from the whole Cruise thing. I get it can cause issue, but to move American graffiti to where it's such an odd time of year, it really deters from tourism and showing off the best of what we can be. I think bringing downtown to life is a good idea, as well as free things and graceada Park, and other events around town. I was born and raised here, I fondly remember the 4th of July parade, free fireworks at multiple places around town, concerts at graceada park, and events all the time. I get we've been going through covid, and there's a financial crisis going on in this country.. but some of the best of what Modesto can be doesn't really cost much. It's just getting people to come out, show off their cars, and everybody just get along like we used to. I think we should take advantage of beautiful places like McHenry village, the downtown plaza, the shopping center at briggsmore and sisk, and other areas that could provide places for people to just be do and see. Maybe have two types of American graffiti? One with the classic cars and then one with cars that have been completely tricked out like lowriders, the racers, and maybe even people getting froggy with electric cars? Our city is a car town, and I don't think we should shy away from that... Modesto has always had its problems, but there's a lot good about this town. I genuinely Believe in us. Next big event, let's all go enjoy!

The reason for so many callers in queue is because the online system SUCKS. Very very poor service . It is no different for any other departments. Not sure what the Mayor does???

I am beyond frustrated with Valley Mountain Regional Center. I have been waiting since October just…read moreto get services started for my daughter, and nothing has moved forward. Every time I call, I am met with the same response, that they are busy and have not gotten to our case yet. Meanwhile, families like mine are left struggling without support. This is not a small inconvenience, this is real life, daily impact, and it feels like we are being overlooked. Communication has been minimal, timelines are unclear, and there is no sense of urgency for families who actually need help. Waiting months without progress is unacceptable, especially when dealing with developmental services that are supposed to support children and families in real time. At this point, it feels like the system is overwhelmed and not equipped to handle the demand, and families are the ones paying the price. I hope they take accountability and improve both communication and response times, because what is happening right now is not okay.
