Quite possibly the best show I've ever seen in Vegas. This man is older than me and he has moves like we still in our 20s. I mean, come on! Rollerskating while dipping and swerving and singing and swooning the whole building?! SHEESH. The theater is really nice, I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Sound and acoustics were excellent. Views were amazing. Visuals were on ten. Staff was really helpful. Singing along to his songs was cathartic and fun, the whole crowd was vibing. He looked hot and had outfit changes, I mean dayum! This man is a born performer and engages the audience through it all. USHER IS A KINGGGGGGGG tho!!! The Usher Residency experience in Las Vegas is top tier. I'm a day one Usher fanatic and the entire event, beginning with the greatest warmup dj to the moment he took his final bow, was a blast. The comfortable, smartly constructed theater inside of Park MGM is where Usher performed and boy did Usher perform! For nearly two full hours, the crowd, which reached to the rafters, was treated to hit after hit from every Usher album ever made. We received Usher singing and grooving in all of his 45 year old fineness on four wheel skates, in a silk robe, rocking cool shades, busting out a handstand, in a glittery leather, being a flirt, a playboy, a lover and a cheater. There are so many sides to this legendary singer and we were blessed with them all. At one point during the VERY SEXY show, Usher stepped off of the stage, walked into the middle of the super adoring crowd and stayed there serenading us for a good while. The acoustics were superb as were his XXX dancers and his band. There were giant screens on each side of the stage so that nobody missed one moment of Usher's singing, dancing greatness, no matter how far they were from the stage. The Usher Residency in Las Vegas is the first concert that I say in all seriousness that I would be happy to go to again. Loved his show last year and heard he was doing another residency and it was going to be different so I had to see him again!!!! I was blown away yet again! He is such a damn good performer, puts on the best shows!!!! He had some of the same stuff but a lot of it was different. He was way more interactive with the audience and he had better outfits this time around too. There were even celebrities that he mentioned at the end of his show that were there including Kim Kardashian. The only complaint I have is that there was an MC before the show and he went on for 45 min!!!! That's a long time to get the audience warmed up for Usher. By the time we left, it was midnight. I think it should've been about 20 min. After 20 min I was getting more anxious and almost annoyed about it. But Usher made up for all that. This was again the best concert I have ever seen in Vegas. Now let's be fair - this show is not for everyone. It is absolutely not family friendly in its current iteration. Explaining exotic dancers to small children is not something any parent wants to do. The way that the stage is set up can be very distracting - there are not enough places where there are height variations on the stage. The lack of dimension in the staging can make it difficult to see the artist. Usher is incredibly interactive with the audience in this show - he goes out into the audience and performs from there. If you are short and you are seated in the middle of a section, you might end up feeling as though you've missed a lot of the show. People also have their phones out a lot during the show, as can be seen on TikTok and other platforms. That means that many of the concertgoers are standing. People came to this show to party, and most people in the audience have spent at least $400 for upper level seats to be there. Many of the audience members came to Las Vegas just for this show. They know what they came for -- and Usher is going to give that to them. They're going to party like the rock stars they're feeling themselves to be in that moment; and after spending plane fares, accommodations, tickets, and outfit money? That is to be understood. Usher understands this assignment quite well, and he fulfills all of the requirements in the rubric. The show is very indulgent. The exotic dancers could benefit from a really good "house mother" to help them with securing their costumes in place. I don't want anyone to be "over-exposed." The show is very physical - especially the pole dancing segments. Keeping those outfits in place is challenging under the best of conditions. I would have loved to have seen more artistic costuming - more of a nod to Vegas' showgirl history. But this show is inspired by the "Dirty South" aesthetic, and that's what we've got here.... One of the pole dancers was a body double for a main character in P-Valley, I am told. If you want to know what you're in for? Watch an episode, and make your decision. If you find that kind of dancing to be too graphic for your taste, avert your eyes as she does leg work on the pole. I went on a Wednesday night. Usher played his heart out for his fans - he was 100% engaged, notwithstanding the mid-week performance. He was in tune. His mic was on. His energy is elite; watching his skate routines was fascinating! Now that you're fully aware of what you're going to see, it is up to you to decide if you want to go. If it's your kind of thing, you'll have a night for the ages. If it's not? Maybe sit this one out, and let the seat go to someone who would be a true enthusiast. I have seen a lot of shows in my life; I have worked on a lot of shows, as well. Yes, there are areas where some minor changes would be highly beneficial. But Usher knows his audience. This Residency is called "My Way," and not for nothing.... A very special shout-out goes to the DJ who keeps this party moving along beautifully from opening until conclusion. This show is AMAZING! I traveled to Vegas just to see this and I'd do it again - well worth it. Usher is a true performer and he gave it his all with straight hits for a full 2.5 hours. There's so many different elements to the show and it gives a dope storyline as he transitions through different parts. There's a little something for everyone because he performs such a variety of different songs from his career. His dancers and band are all great and really elevate the show that much more. So how was it... Well.... The concert was magnificent! All the feels, all the excitement, all the memories. All the moments...it was amazing. It is absolutely one to not miss if you are a huge Usher fan. There is nothing like a Vegas show, hands down! MY FAVES parts included: - The song catalog is fire! -The visuals on the screen! Many use the screens to just show the back row the best of the concert, Usher uses his to basically turn your concert experience into an HBO special! You could be front row and center and still catch yourself watching the screens! - His interaction with the audience felt genuine - The fact that he did this every day! Multiples times a day and is over 40! -There is a part within the show where he gives an opportunity for a proposal to happen! Take advantage of this once in lifetime opportunity if you want to put a ring on it! NOT SO GREAT parts included: - The drink prices were a little ridiculous. I mean they had wine for $20/glass and cocktails for $35/glass! (but that's the venue not Usher) - There is no ideal time to leave for a bathroom break! lol. So go early or you will miss a great part of the concert. - If the person in front of you is standing, you will have to stand also (and the domino effect begins) because they will block entire show if you do not. Terrible show!! Usher sang to his songs being played on track and mix machine and he would sing a few words but 90percent of the song being played was just a track recording. Given the cost and the reputation of Usher, his dancers and performers were not A-quality. His top songs were mixed to provide more of a dance club vibe than a concert. And the sound and band completely drowned out any vocals that actually happened. Love Usher, but one of the worst show we ever attended in Las Vegas. The DJ before the show was the best part of the show. Usher is a performer and a dancer but didn't not deliver during his show on Oct 14, 2023. There we're so many other people on stage with him I kept losing him. The pole dancing woman were raunchy and unpleasant to watch. The first hour were all songs no one knew. He played his hits at the end but he had lost the crowd's attention by then. This is my favorite residency I've seen to date! Usher has the same energy that he had 20 years ago. The show is well planned and entertaining. He takes you down memory lane by singing his hit singles and breaking it down on the dance floor. I saw him on Christmas Eve so he even spoiled us with some Christmas music! I also recommend going on Wednesdays instead of the weekends because it's cheaper and less crowds. I do not mind the strippers , but between the camera man zooming in on the spread eagle ladies with lip slippage , the dancers dry humping on stage , Usher putting his hands down his pants and "feeling himself ", to the explicit "private dance" the dancers were giving Usher at times while he sang . I'm a Usher fan so this is no dig on Usher's talent or legacy but you'd be better off watching a recording of the show because the crowd is rude and everyone stands and blocks views all night. I had to remind the girl sitting next to me not to stand in front of me dancing to every song. Very unprofessional setup for what the event cost.
