my experience at this USPS was excellent! This was the 1st time I had a good experience at one of these. I was not looking forward to going to the post office. I rather go to the dentist. All the ones I have been to have been unsatisfactory. Make me feel Like the people working in there are there against their will. But not this time. The front USPS rep (Queza) was kind and patient and she was even smiling. Never have I seen an USPS worker smiling before. This is THEE worst location to go and conduct any postal business. The "manager" or Post Master is unqualified to deal with the public, due to her bad character behavior. I have used this location because of two home purchases in Brandywine, and am unsatisfied that inspite of consistent complaints, by multiple customers, she is still there! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE is UNACCEPTABLE, LONG LINES WHILE A MANAGER WATCHES IS UNACCEPTABLE, RUDE TEETH SUCKING AND EYE ROLLING IS UNACCEPTABLE. BOISTEROUSLY ENGAGING STAFF IN YOUR OFFICE WHILE CUSTOMERS ARE FORCED TO DEAL WITH A STRUGGLING STAFFER is UNACCEPTABLE. If I could give this post office location negative stars, I wouldn't even hesitate to do so. Me and my family moved to Brandywine in early Feb 2017 from Anne arundel county. In the 6.5 months we have been at this address we have literally had approximately 10-12 package delivery issues with them. They scan a package as being delivered, yet it's nowhere to be found. Not in the mailbox, parcel locker or on the porch. Or they do deliver it yet give the wrong key or no key to get it out of the parcel locker. Most recent example this week: had a package that they scanned as DELIVERED on Wed 8/23 @ 4:19pm. We check the mail when we get home at 7:15pm, a key is in the mailbox to a parcel locker, open locker no package. So the next day we call them and after waiting on hold 10 minutes, they say they will send someone out to find it and make sure we get it. Wait all day no one ever shows up still no package. Fast forward to the next day (today), call first thing when they open at 9am. Explain what's going on to some stoned sounding dude who takes our info and puts us on hold 15 min only to come back and say "you'll need to call back at 10 and talk to a supervisor". Wtf. Ok so we call back at 10. Call one busy, call two busy, call three busy, call four finally same dude answers we ask for the supervisor, he says hold on and goes quiet for ten seconds and comes back and says "she's in a meeting" and hangs up on us. So we say screw this and actually wrote a note explaining things and asking the mail person to search for it and put the note in the mail box. Haven't been able to check mail since doing so today, so not sure if it's been out in there but I highly doubt it. They are the most rude, lazy, and ignorant workers I've ever seen. Always an attitude, never answer phones, never know what they are doing. It's ridiculous bs. Under no circumstances should a package EVER be scanned as delivered unless it actually is. Yet they do it all the time. I so wish there was a way to ask for our mail to be sent to a different post office. I don't trust these fools one bit. I'll update this shortly with whether it was finally delivered or not. Won't hold my breath. Update: even after leaving the mail person a note, guess what?!! No package still!! Will be headed to the post office tomorrow morning and they won't like me afterwards. Update #2: today marks TWO WEEKS since this issue started and our package was supposedly delivered, and guess what STILL no package. After 10 days of nonstop getting brushed off/lied to I said screw it and had to message the company i bought the item from and explain the entire situation and thankfully they sent me out a replacement free of charge to a friends address. It went through the Waldorf post office and hey guess what it actually got delivered on time imagine that. Brandywine Post Office is a pathetic joke. I now have had to change the shipping addresses for packages I order or receiver monthly to a friends home just so I can make sure I get my packages. And that is just sad and ridiculous!! read more

They are always friendly and helpful. Clean facility with appropriate parking. Typically I get in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

The delivery personal are very friendly and try to help. The actual post office staff are horrible. You can never get through on the phone and when you go in, they are very unfriendly. I constantly have package delivery issues. They say it was delivered, but it never is. Only after I call the 800 number and complain do they miraculously find my package and have it delivered. People are paying good money to have a package delivered in a timely manner, and the post office is marking them delivered to make it look like they meet their commitment, when in fact they are not. It is very frustrating to have to chase after them to get them to do their job. read more

It's pretty bad when a PO gets a yelp rating, but this office deserves every negative rating it. In the first few months of living in Brandywine, I think I had maybe 6 issues with deliveries by the post office. Once it was a garment, it would have easily fit in the mailbox, but no, too easy to write a little yellow pick up slip, go to the PO the next day and the package is not there. Can't say UPS or FEDEx is much better down here. Some UPS drivers are good, some don't care at all. I just get packages delivered to work downtown now! read more

The post office @ Brandywine, MD. mail delivery employees does not know how to read, for the past 10 years they keep putting my neighbors mails in my mail box, when I write on the envelopes & complain about this on going problem, I personally went into the post office and complain, I was told not to write on the envelopes but to take the mails to my neighbors, they are very unprofessional. About a week ago a package of my son was delivered to my neighbor, my son had called the post office to enquire about his package, he was told that they put the little package in my garage. We NEVER leave our garage door open, yesterday my neighbor gave the package to my son, yes the mail man/woman dunno how to read!!!! read more

Same as with all the other reviews here. This post office is horrible. I've actually witnessed the cashier walk out not once, but twice just for how someone looked at her. I purchased a gift card and wasn't aware you could only purchase a gift card from USPS using a debit card. I did not have sufficient funds in my checking account to purchase said gift card so I told the cashier to cancel the transaction. She said she couldn't. I then asked if she could lower the amount so I could actually afford it. She said she couldn't do that either. So I needed to completely drain my checking and then return to pay the remaining amount in cash the following day. When I came back I asked to speak to the manager and ask if they could put a sign up that says you must pay with debt and I asked why it was they couldn't cancel the transactions. The manager then proceeded to tell me I never said to cancel the transaction very rudely. I informed her I did in fact ask them to cancel it. The cashier then also said I never said to cancel the transaction and raised her voice so much so that the manager even told her to lower her voice. I am a patient person and I did in fact pay for the gift card which after buying left my checking account with 7 cents in it, but don't start shouting at patrons telling them they didn't say something which they in fact did say. Check the security cameras if it's that serious. Regardless they said they wouldn't have been able to cancel the transaction anyways. So USPS is essentially forcing you to purchase something you don't want or have the funds to purchase? That's horrible. I definitely won't be returning to this post office again. read more

I've been waiting on a package for 3 days and when I look at the history of my package, it has been going around in circles from DC to Richmond back to Brandywine. I don't understand what the problem is!! My mail has been delivered to the wrong address and vice versa. The mail is delivered later and later everyday. Sometimes we dont get our mail until 7:00 at night and that is ridiculous!! Come on people... If you don't like your job find another one. Someone would be glad to have your jobs. read more

I get more of my mail delivered to me from my neighbors than from the mail carrier. I just went out to get my mail to find the box contained my neighbors mail and not mine. Our local post office is the worst one ever. Since I've lived here our mailbox gets taken down by MDOT when they clean the road of snow (Another story for later). And we didn't have a mailbox so we went to the post office for them to hold our mail. After a week of holding it they started sending our mail back without even trying to put it in our mailbox when it was finally up, I go to the post office and every time it's a young female that when you speak with her it's like speaking to a rock. She has given me wrong mail before and when I look through it there's credit card company mail, and it's tax season and there's W-2s and more important mail from someone else in my hands. And when I give it back to her since it's not mine she just throws it on the counter and says bye. I honestly am having thoughts of buying a PO Box in the next town down just so I don't have to deal with these incompetent people at this Post office. This is bad reputation for the USPS and all these people working here should get either retrained or if that doesn't work fired. Mail is an important part of our lives. They are the BANE of my existence. broke my storm door. Several years ago,I sent notification to the Post master General and he bounced me back to the local office. complained to them and they said they would check it out. NADA ZIP. Now they have left my storm door open 3 times in the past 2 months. One letter they delivered- after leaving the door open, ended up in the yard on a very windy day. And they have the nerve to say they need to reduce down to 5 days delivery schedule. Go figure !!! read more

The latest(01/10/2019) - We have a large mailbox. They stuffed a box in so hard, that, with the help of family, we still couldn't get the box out. I waited until morning(it was dark when we tried to get the box out), and used a box cutter and a large screwdriver to get the box out. Now, the mailbox door and the whole box are loose. Two days before, they dropped off a package and dug up the yard and our driveway when they spun the wheels on the carrier vehicle. Not getting any better folks. read more

This is the worst post office that I have ever had to deal with. I've called several times for a package that was delivered to facility 2 months prior that they can't seem to find. They've put me on hold for over 30 minutes. They've hung up the phone on me whenever I've called to speak to Management. This is seriously the worst post office ever. Brandywine post office has disappointed again! I've yet to receive my medical supplies and it says online that it had been delivered to an individual. That individual is at another address, if it was delivered at all!! I need my supplies! No one EVER came to deliver. No one rang my doorbell or even appeared on my security camera. I'm so pissed-off to think, in these hard covid times, that they will just say "oh well it says delivered." You almost cannot reach the office by phone. As many times that they've put other people's mail in my mailbox, I am certain that they've put it in the hand if someone else; if at all. Can they even remember whose house they brought it to? Did that person open and keep my health supplies? If they retrieve it, will the package be open and missing some items? I dont have any money for another supply and the incompetence on their part is infuriating at the LEAST and I could not sleep at all and I'm getting chest pains and anxiety from anticipating them giving me horrible attitude or telling me that they can't do anything about their mishandling of my mail! The employees here are extremely lazy and unfriendly. Have fun waiting up to 10 minutes just to get someone to come up to the counter, even after ringing their little bell countless times. read more

Brandywine USPS is the WORST. I have been living in the Brandywine area for over 5yrs now. On a monthly basis I have delivery issues. I get more of my mail delivered to me from my neighbors than from the mail carrier. They scan packages as being delivered, yet it is nowhere to be found. You contact them and they act like you're bothering them, or respond with "smart" remarks like, "did you check your mail box and or parcel box?' REALLY...no, I just assumed that considering your track record, it was not delivered and felt like calling or taking time out of my busy schedule to pay you a visit. Excuse after excuse, after excuse is all that I am greeted with when trying to get to the bottom of this horrible service. I have spoken with countless supervisors and to date I am still dealing with the same repeated offenses. If only they had someone in a supervisory role that not only held them accountable, implemented/enforced additional remedial training and ensured customer satisfaction, things would be different.
