Even though the building has "POST OFFICE" in large, capitalized font on the front of the building, you can only send 'out of town' mail that's already PRE-PAID. It took me 10 minutes to find this out since the employees were busy doing their own thing BUT customer service. It's not a surprise since Chicago's mail has been notorious for being among the worst in the nation. The only reason you'd come here is if you have an undeliverable or missing package/letter...and best of luck with that! Otherwise, the building seems to be used for sorting mail and delivery truck parking.

USPS employees park in the customer parking lot.

In addition, while she was off looking into it, two other staff asked if I needed assistance - could not have been nicer.

I've never had a major issue with this location. It's not the closest to where I live, but I come…read morehere due in part to the convenient parking lot and overall, I feel that the staff is competent, cordial, and the queue (depending on peak times of course) moves at a steady enough pace. People should start entering USPS's with a more positive frame of mind. If you barge in already expecting to have a crappy experience, then you definitely will. Post Offices don't have to be horrible places. Just be a little patient with the employees and with yourself. Stop being so sensitive if they don't smile and laugh and tell you what an amazing person you are. I've definitely been to worse locations in Chicago.

As she finishes with the customer, she looks at me and informs me that the line starts at the other side of the store. I am the only one in the store. I apologize, and approach the counter. She says "no, walk around"... so I do, and then she shouts "next!", and I then walk to the counter. I state I am here to purchase some stamps. Her response is "cant you read the sign, we dont sell stamps here". Next to her is a piece of paper written in sharpie that says "no stamps". I say oh no! Where can i get some stamps? Her response is "go somewhere else, theres a store on sheffield but theyre closed today". So I asked where I could buy some stamps, to which she replied "not my problem. Next!" As a customer had arrived with a return. As she told this customer she cant ship the package because they have the wrong box, I stood to the side googling where else I could buy stamps. I left after a couple minutes, and did not see the woman working the counter meaningfully contribute to society while I was there. I appreciate that usps allows people like this to remain employed somewhere, but as other reviews show, this is a consistent issue that has been present for years and will likely not be addressed. Do not come here, I'd expect this location to be closed in the near future due to lack of care by its staff and the company that "supports" its staff.

The second and last time I came to this location was for a passport appointment at 1:45. The clerk said that the agent was already clocking out for some reason, even though there was another family in line there for their appointment as well. As well as I can understand being shortstaffed, I wish they could be a bit more sympathetic. I would not rely on this location for passport apps, I'd rather suggest making a trip Downtown for that.

Well, I was home and nobody rang my buzzer. In fact the USPS worker just signed for it themselves and picked 'left with individual' and dropped it on the ground. What a joke. Month or two before that I had a package sit in sorting for over a month. 2 months total for the international package to arrive. It was a $90 postage fee shipment from the Netherlands. Things I order for $3 from Ali Express arrive sooner. Now I'm waiting for another signature required delivery and filled out the information online to have it redelivered. The redelivery day has passed. So has the day after that. Nothing. No new notice, nothing. They just did not bother attempting a redelivery. Insulting. Very sad to see how far USPS has fallen. Really nothing we can even do apparently. Just pay your taxes and be happy with terrible service.
