How do you Yelp / review your post office? Keep in mind that a post office is a government facility. Unless you're a politician, government isn't glamorous. With that said, I've been in much nicer post office buildings, so I can't give 5 stars here. Another thing is customer service. These are government employees. They don't really have to be nice to you.....and I guess they aren't here. There was only 1 employee working here that I could see. This person wasn't being rude, but there really wasn't any customer service either. It's whoever is next in line, come on up. Not sure I would expect any better from a post office, but I'm giving 3 stars as I've been to much better post offices. read more

Absolutely, positively the worst. I have "informed delivery" and have had several very important documents show scanned and then never delivered ... ever - just lost. I've also received delivery attempts failed notices for very important medication that says the delivery attempt was made while I was sitting on the couch 5' from the door ... nobody ever attempted to deliver my medication. Additionally they said they left a call tag on my door needed to pick up my medication ... there was no call tag. Sorry if you work there, but service sucks. read more

We are in the industrial park, many days we get no mail, sometimes they try to deliver at 7pm, to a business, ridiculous, many, many items have been lost in the mail, we have often times received other businesses mail, had to go to direct deposit for our checks since so many were being lost, items that I have mailed to the same address for years suddenly come back as undeliverable, if possible I would give 0 stars read more

I ordered a Shein package that arrived there on 09/27 and it's 10/01 and no update has been seen since. I contacted USPS and they said they should have been received my items that's suppose to be here by 10/02. I just read the reviews and it's sad nothing is being done. Maybe a class action suit should be filed. For packages to arrive and not leave for weeks and months or even leave and some of us spend hundreds of dollars is sickening. Us writing these reviews seem pointless since nothing have been done for years. A friend of mine sent me a package using priority mail, 3-4 days. For some reason, the good folks at USPS Elk Grove have decided to keep it, so far, for four days. It's already been seven days total and I don't think I'll be holding my breath waiting for it. I always try to avoid going to this post office when I can. Today was the last straw and I will never come here again. The staff are just plain rude. I have heard them in the past talking down to people including the elderly. They have no manners or sense of decency and treat everyone badly. Today, I was dropping off two packages and putting them on top of the counter like I have done in the past 10 years. Other people have done the same since that is how they told us to do in the past. A young man (with dark hair), possibly new hire since I have never seen him here before very rudely stopped me and with additional uncalled-for negative comments directed to me, loudly to make sure everyone heard him. I live in the same town and the City is wonderful; however this post office is the worst I have even been when it comes to customer service. Someone higher up at USPS please make an un-announced visit or audit and you will find out that all these negative reviews and comments are legitimate. This post office is so bad I can't even begin to describe. We have an ETSY business and all of our international orders go through Elk Grove Village post office for some reason. Orders are typically delayed for weeks or (in some cases) up to three months (and this is not at Christmas). Customers are furious and demand refunds. Orders are misdelivered. Some just never arrive. While the USPS generally has a good record when we don't use this post office, we have lost hundreds of dollars worth of orders when we DO use this one. Our business suffers. It's appalling that we spend thousands of dollars trying to provide a great ETSY product and great customer service, but at the very end of the line - the delivery- the ball is dropped through no fault of our own, our customer is upset, and our investment and reputation takes a huge hit. But I guess the people there at the Elk Grove Village post office don't have to care. read more

This is the second time a package I've ordered has gone through Elk Village distribution center. The first time, my order went completely missing never to be seen again (tracking number said it was being held there but never updated) & I had to get a replacement from the seller months later. Now my current package is stuck there too when the estimated delivery date already passed. I live decently far from Illinois and am bracing myself for the worst, especially since the contents of my package is more valuable. Yes, the negative reviews here are true. I have lived in EGV for years now and refuse to go to this location; I only ever come here as a last resort. The staff at this location aren't the friendliest and it looks like a mail truck threw up inside. I have had quite a few packages arrive late and also ones that were sent here and sat here for days to a week. Thankfully, I send packages through another PO in a nearby town.
