I read the reviews before I ran inside to purchase a book of postcard stamps. It sounded like a nightmare. I went inside anyway. I didn't get the ugly treatment that many have complained about here. The young lady at the window was polite. She asked me if I needed anything else. She smiled. She told me to take a survey at the bottom of the receipt. I have no complaints. Tashi is extremely rude to customers. If you're at the post office for a service that you are paying for and you need to ask questions, that's what the employees are there for. But NOT Tashi, she'll yell at you while you're asking a question about a service you're paying for and then tell you to your face that she doesn't have to be nice. This specific employe at this USPS is completely rude for no reason! Her name is Shari, a very bitter woman off interactions with her and unfortunately she seems to be working the counter all the time. She cuts you off, over talks you, and makes rude remarks. Always popping her gum and making hacking noises from her mouth! I've seen customers go up to the counter and ask her how she was doing and she just looks at them, ignores them, and ask what they need with an "I don't care" attitude. Always has a mean scowl on her face. Just not friendly or welcoming. She seems to hate her job or just life period. I would avoid her and wait to be helped by another employee if possible. read more

If zero stars would have been available I would have put zero. I tried to put my mail on hold over three months ago. The lady in the Kannapolis USPS branch was very rude every time I went in to get my mail. She took my mail off hold without my permission. Now I go to get my mail this morning from the mail box and the mail lady that delivers my mail just told me this morning that my mail was put on hold and at the Kannapolis post office. I did not re fill out anything giving them permission to put my mail on hold this time. I have a very important package and some mail for my medical disability and it has a date to have returned on it which means if I don't get that letter and fill it out and mail back before the deadline my medical disability will be cancelled and I will not have my health insurance because of the Kannapolis post office without consent or my permission is keeping my mail. I do believe this is fraud and something needs to be addressed before this matter is taken to a judge for mail fraud and for a lady there being extremely rude to a woman who was just held against her will and was treated very rude by a Kannapolis employee from the Kannapolis post office. Who can put my mail on hold? Myself and myself ONLY. Therefore someone needs to fix this and have my mail sent to me at my door step as soon as possible or the matter will be handled by a judge for fraud and for the mean lady who not only yelled at me but majorly disrespectful to me right in front of everyone in the post office. I will contact the corporate office Monday to discuss the matter with them and file a complaint with them and the Better Business Bureau. read more

Megan, who says she is the Postmaster in Kannapolis, is horrible. Such rudeness and attitude and unwillingness to help. My delivery driver backed into my Suburban.....then just left. My husband happened to be outside and saw it all. We always liked him but this wasn't right. We had his cell number so we called him and he admitted he hit our car. He did come by and paid for the ramp he messed up (we never filed a complaint against him since he fixed what he hit) he then proceeded to tell us we had to move our mailbox or we wouldnt get anymore mail.. This mailbox has been in the same spot for over 30 years... he has been walking to and driving to for many years. Why now do we have to move it..... we wnt to see Megan...she never once apologize to us for this whole situation even being started. She has been just plain ugly to us saying our driveway wasn't safe for her driver. But the only thing unsafe is his backing up skills. If you have issues...skip going to her. I've never had more negative perception of a business than this USPS. Previously I've witnessed lines going to the other side of the building due to only one man working when there were three other people ultimately in the back chatting. Employees talking openly and loudly inappropriate in front of customers, making people feel uncomfortable. However, I put up with it since it was the closest to my house. Then had an incident where I was treated rudely immediately. All USPS locations I have been to previously have a drop counter for prepaid packages and they encourage you to drop them there to avoid creating long lines. My mistake, I had thought this location would be no different. I asked if I just drop prepaid on the counter and a lady was off the bat rude saying I still have to wait in lines. Then my prepaid Priority Mail was refused since the date did not match the date on the label. I regularly sell on Poshmark ect, and the label does not expire until 7 days after the item sells, and I have never not been able to ship a package with a label dating between 1-7 days of the printed date. This time it was 6 days and I had printed the label that day, while the employees kept telling me they could not ship a week after the date. Again, it was 6 days not a week. They were not helpful or understanding of what I was trying to explain. So, I left went to the post office 5 mins down the road and had no issue sending my package out, and was treated with friendliness. Their policies do not work to accommodate customers, and their rudeness makes it even more difficult to do business with them. Apparently and unfortunately all post offices don't run in a standardized manner as I assumed they would (ass of me). I frequent this post office and this time I went in to simply mail a pkg. Simple, right? Well at the counter I told the clerk what I wanted, she repeated the package's destination, gave me my tracking Info and that should have been the end. Instead the following day the package arrived at my home. When I took the package back and pointed out that I had clearly written TO & FROM w/the addresses I was told that I should not have written the TO address in that place on the box. 1st of all, the clerk who assisted me in mailing it out shld have informed me of that if tat were the case. Secondly, TO was clearly written beside the address of the packages destination. Third, she repeated back to me where the package was going. I mean why the hell would I want the package back to my house?! So after being passed around to 3 people I was finally told that they would send the package back out without any additional cost to me. However they did not issue a new tracking number. I inquired about this and was told they would use the same tracking info (how though when status of current tracking # indicated delivered). So I took the supervisor's name (expecting add'l BS) and left. Later that day I received a new tracking number in the mail and thankfully the package was delivered without me having to go back and show my true colors. Another thing is the staff at this location are oftentimes unprofessional. Once I went in on Saturday, I believe, and someone's child was wandering around in the back. Like why would this be permitted?! Staff also oftentimes hold up the lines while they have irrelevant chatter with customers who are apparently acquaintances. Also, of course, I got "attitude" from 2 of the 3 people I approached about the package situation. This post office is good buy stamps out of, but that's about it. I'm done with them, I'll make the drive elsewhere. read more

Do not use the FBI electronic fingerprinting service at the Kannapolis post office! The employees are not trained and do not know what they are doing. They will keep taking the $50 fee and don't care if the prints are readable or not. As long as they get their fee, they don't care about the customer. The supervisor Ms Davis told us we could get a refund from the FBI but that's not true. Very poor customer service. read more

My 20 year old daughter went to this location today to get her passport for a trip to Mexico. Absolutely the worst experience ever of any type of service. Tashi treated my daughter so bad she was shaking when she came out to the car. They are so incompetent it is actually mind boggling that they keep the doors open. This was by far the worst post office experience of my life. The two ladies working there had a ton of attitude right out the gate. I simply asked a question about paying, and they just gave me immediate sass. I proceeded with one more question, and it only got worse from there. They led me to believe one thing knowing it was wrong just to keeping me from carrying out my package being mailed out before 5pm. Then one of the ladies proceeded to give me a bold faced lie about the computers so that I could not send out my package. These ladies were absolutely immature at best. Do NOT go to this location. My wife now won't be able to go on a trip because they wouldn't accept her passport application filled out in blue pen and wouldn't give her another application to fill out in black ink. Absolutely the worst post office I've ever been to. I've been to many many post offices because I have an online store and ship lots of items. This one is awful, they are all rude except 1 man that's always nice but rarely there. Everyone is hateful and rude, they hate their jobs and don't want to work. They will over charge you! If you have a lot to drop off they make excuses as to why you can't leave them there and make you go to another post office simply because they don't want to work. If you have questions don't ask them because they will not give you the answer you are looking for. They will roll their eyes at you. This is getting old and it's not just to me they treat everyone the same. I dealt with this bs for 3 years and finally made a complaint yesterday. We'll see what happens. I called to tell them that I accidentally put the incorrect digits on the address portion of my package I ordered (I just moved). I said that the other post office, where I used to live, would hold a package so I can pick it up since it was incorrect and I asked if that was a possibility here. Having had a P.O. box with the Kannapolis post office for 30 years I have been familiar with several employees here. The current Postmaster is the rudiest person I have ever had the displeasure to meet. Being retired military I have had the opportunity to visit several post offices across the United States, Korea and Thailand, this is the dirtiest I have ever been to. According to several employees the Postmaster will not hire people to clean the building,mow the lawn, trim the bushes or empty the trash because she wants her superiors to see that she is saving the government money even though it is at the customers expense. I have heard from several people that she has several greivances against her at this time. I can see why. Every time I go to the facility trash is falling out of the garbage can at the front door and to me seems very sanitary. The side door has been blocked for over a year and still is even with the ease of COVID restrictions. The last time I went to the Post Office the grass was past my knees. I am more afraid of catching germs at this facility than getting COVID in a public function read more

I have had several issues with my mail carrier from this branch, mail getting delivered to wrong house on wrong street , items left on my steps with out any protection from the weather. Here's my latest issue , I was expecting a package, it was 'out for delivery' , when I arrived home from work(4:28 pm) I did not see my package , went to my mailbox to get the mail that had been delivered, called the Kannapolis PO to inquire about my package , told her my mail had been delivered but no package, she informed me that the package was being delivered by a different carrier and that they were still out making deliveries, I accept this answer and get off the phone(4:32pm) Around 7:00 pm I check the tracking for my package, it has been updated to show that at 5:07 the carrier "ATTEMPTED delivery but could not ACCESS my address" . That's amazing , considering I was at home when this attempted delivery happened. No wonder the post office is in financial trouble , supposedly sending 2 different carriers to deliver to the same address? It doesn't seem to take much to affect the delivery of mail these days read more
