Package gets lost, nobody cares. Lombard USPS blames Carol Stream USPS, Carol Stream never responds to anything. The tracking clearly shows the package never got delivered, that it's either in Carol Stream or Lombard. When I filed a report, I got a reference number, then I got an email that said the issues is resolved and Ref # is closed, followed by a "How did we do" survey! I re-opened the claim and USPS final response was "try and get your money back from whoever you ordered the product from. There's nothing we can do". This location is the worst! Business moved from Hanover Park Il to Lombard in July 2021. Lombard will not deliver or pick up mail for days! yes days! 12/08/21 12/09/21 12/10/21 12/13/21 delivered some mail on Saturday 12/11/21 but no pick up of mail! I just do not understand when I call and email daily without a care! Response is the same "covid" lack of personel, doing our best! WELL your best is sub par at best! read more

Our Lombard USPS has done a 180 wrt their customer service. I've been sending a number of packages (mostly ebay stuff) since late last year and the staff at the service counter have been nothing short of great. They have been very friendly, courteous and helpful when I am sending packages. They advise me on the cheapest way to send things and always offer a smiling face. This is not the way it always was, but they are really trying. Sure sometimes there's a line of folks waiting for service, but they do move quickly. I've asked a few times if there's not any other staff and they have told me that its been very hard to hire staff - but the folks they do have are great. Keep up the good work! read more

I sent a a package Priority mail from Lombard to So. California on 1/29/24 it never left the post office until late 1/30/24. Sent to Chicago for rerouting sat their for 1 day. Now it is in transit to next location for 2 days. Package cost for shipping $18.40 No updates since. It was promised for delivery for wednesday. It's now going into Friday and nothing. The package will sit in an out door locker at a professional bulding all weekend if it even makes it. I shipped 4 pounds homemade fudge. Screw this post office. I will ship FED X FROM NOW ON. The post office should sell out to Amazon. They get it done. read more

I don't live in Lombard, I was out there from Chicago looking to pick up a chair I wanted to purchase on Facebook marketplace. The address I was looking for was on the 1N Argyle block and MapQuest sent me to the 2N side of where I needed to go. Your delivery person was out delivering mail and I flagged him down and he so graciously & immediately jumped out of his truck and helped me find where i needed to go. While this isn't a mail delivery review it is a review of what a great employee you have. I did not catch his name but he was on the 2N argyle st area, blue eyes amazing smile and super kind And I wanted him to know how grateful I am because I hadn't had a clue where I was and MapQuest was no help as well ! so if you can forward this to him please do I thank you for saving this damsel in distress kind Prince. With all the people complaining about the USPS their service is on time 6 days a week. I rarely get someone else's mail, perhaps the next door neighbor's. I rarely, if ever, have my mail lost by the USPS. The federal government won't supply them with enough money so they lose money. But the proof that they're inexpensive is that NO ONE has even tried to compete with them. I would think the federal government would love to turn over the responsibility of the USPS to a private firm, but no one is interested. No private business could make money doing what the USPS does. Worst postal service in this state! Cancelled a PO Box after buying my home. They screwed up all my mail, still missing important mail like my kids last paystub from job. Never got. First Credit card for my 19 year old - never got. Cards with gift cards inside from friends and family congratulating us on home purchase - never got. Hope the Lombard postal service workers are enjoying all my gift cards. Get your head out your arses and do your job right!! Major headache trying to get my mail. Ridiculous. They tell you - it will get return to sender, don't worry. Funny - none of the cards got returned to sender. Everything is missing. I somehow forgot to include a unit number on a package I ordered, so I called the post office fully expecting a careless "That's not our problem " response but was so pleasantly surprised to find the customer service at the Lombard office was extremely friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They found my package quickly (considering they were also low on staff around Black Friday). They updated the address and even reached out personally to let me know when I could expect my package. Store Review: Wow a post-office inside the mall. I still can't believe it. I thought my GPS was broken when it brought me to this location. The service was slow, but friendly. Another Lombard Post Office adventure this week. Shipped a Priority Mail package to an eBay buyer of mine. She was only 3 miles away from my house, in Elmhurst (crazy small world!) and I considered just dropping the package on her porch but felt like that'd be super creepy of me. So I went the traditional route and just mailed it. Big mistake. Two days later the package shows up... BACK AT MY HOUSE. I immediately hop in the car and go back to the post office. I show the package to them and they say "Oh, we must have accidentally sent it to the From." Uhhh....yeah...but WHY? I don't understand these people. The best part is, in the extra two days it took to get the package back out and to her house, the eBay buyer opened a claim against me, since the tracking showed the package was delivered and she never received it. This froze up my PayPal, re-deducted the funds from my bank account, and caused a mega-hassle for me. Thanks yet again, guys. read more

When your average review is 1 star, you know you're in trouble. 1. I consistently get other people's mail. People who live nowhere near me. People who haven't lived at my address for over 2 years. 2. I have had numerous reports of family members not getting things I've sent them. WEDDING INVITATIONS AND THANK YOU NOTES. Nope, not embarrassing at all. Who knows what else hasn't gotten to or from me? 3. The letter carriers walk through my flower beds and have broken branches on the bushes countless times. Totally unacceptable. This is my 'home' US post office location that I've visited at least weekly for the last 17 years. My overall rating is 3 stars, but 4 stars for the self-service features and 2 stars for the human-manned positions... I like that this PO location has a unit that allows me to send packages without waiting in long lines. And, yes there are often lines here. The thing is that the self serve machine only takes packages that fit into the metal storage unit attached to the machine. 4 stars for this feature. Now on to the human-manned staffers -- the word 'entitlement' comes to mind when I think of most USPS workers. Because while they are always polite, they are not actually friendly in any genuine sense of the word. I also DO NOT TRUST their package prices without first either using the self-service unit to get a price, or using an online calculator. CASE IN POINT: I wanted to ship a used 3/4 guitar to Arizona this week. I measured the package myself and then used an online cost calculator by USPS for the price. I knew the ground rate would be approx $20, and when the "human worker" gave me the price it was that amount but then she said the final price was closed to $48 once she keyed in the measurements. HUH? WHAT? I knew this was WRONG. I said I'd go elsewhere because I had used an online calculator and got the $20 rate... Hence, I went to Office Depot on Roosevelt and sure enough they matched my self-calculated rate. I then opted to spend a few more dollars and shipped the guitar via UPS because I was pissed at the "human" oat the PO.. My suggestion - try using the self service machine to ship. It's easy to use and at least you'll get an accurate price. Overall, USPS as a whole does a poor job in that they try to upsell you CONSTANTLY on services and features that you don't need, while also not being entirely helpful in providing even the most basic necessities such as generic package labels without having to buy them. read more

This USPS location services my new neighborhood. After having issues with the previous homeowners who didn't know the mailbox number associated with the unit, despite living in it for 5+ years, I went to this location to get help. Both young ladies at the counter were helpful and had good attitudes. I explained the problem. After they confirmed my identity they took my information and said they'd follow up with the mailman on my route to help identify my box. They did just that. The mailman left a note on the box for me and I was able to finally get 2 weeks worth of mail and a couple of packages that were delivered. USPS employees get a bad rap, so I felt it especially important to share this service experience. Thank you, folks! I appreciate you. read more

We've all heard (& told) stories about grumpy, unenthusiastic, and maybe even rude federal employees. Well, you won't find them here. The clerks at the Yorktown branch of the US Post Office are pleasant, polite, and patient. I'm not saying they're chatty -- they're too busy ( and I think too reserved) -- but they do smile and they're very helpful. Remarkably, their pleasant demeanor does not change at Christmastime when the lines snake out into the mall and the people in those lines are not so patient. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Be aware there is one, reserved, 10-minute parking space in the mall lot for the post office. It's located on the west side of Yorktown Center near Carson Pirie Scott & Famous Dave's barbecue. When the space is available, it's very handy for dropping off a package or picking up stamps. But with the exception of the holidays or a big sale at Carson Pirie Scott, it is not too difficult to find a parking space on that side of the mall. Business hours are usually extended during the winter holidays. read more

Terrible customer service, they constantly do livery the wrong nail to the wrong address, "loose" packages, have mail that is "undeliverable", have inconsistent staff and are overall awful. I purposely go out of my way not to bring anything to or from there. AWFUL. read more

Our mail delivery is erractic. Often we don't get what is shown on the "informed delivery" dashboard for several days. Right now I have one package and 8 pieces of mail pending delivery and have not had mail going on three days. There was even a day some months ago, when I had a special delivery, time sensitive letter that was suppose to arrive on a Monday. When it didn't come on Monday or in Tuesday's mail, I stood by the mail truck and waited for the carrier to return from their route. I questioned where the letter was. The person got in the truck and pulled the letter out of a bin and handed it to me. Had I not asked I would not have gotten it that day either. The sender had paid $10 to get the letter to me fast. Also, we get all our medicines through the mail, many of which are critical and cannot relay on their delivery! Interesting that we pay more now for the postal services than ever before only to have these services be the worst I can ever recall. read more

This is the worst location to do business with. You'll need lots of time, the patience of Job, and very low expectations. read more

This is by far my favorite USPS in America. Having traveled all over the place for school, I've had my share of USPS's. This little old PO, in Lombard, has the best of everything packed in one USPS. They are the only PO that has a full line of supplies - that means, every prepaid box size is available, as is tape, cards, stamps of every kind imaginable. Most of all, the most KIND, SWEET, FRIENDLY workers, which make the difference. There's a DIY machine right outside the actual PO to mail packages + inside for full service. What I like best is the FULL SERVICE, and that's what I get when I'm sending packages. This is the only USPS where I feel I'm getting the right price, my package is safe and it's going to arrive when I'm told it'll be there. Nice to have a venue where trust is #1! read more

Apparently some of the employees here do not understand the responsibility required to do the job. At some point they failed to train their people how to match the address on the label with the address on the house. I don't know where my package is and neither do they. It was delivered, somewhere. Small business beware! Staff at the post office no longer scan items in at the dock, meaning that tracking information will not be available for several days later, if at all. Recently, I left several packages at the dock over 2 days, and they didn't show up in the tracking system for 12 days. 12 days! What did they do with my packages? I have many upset customers and my reputation will be hurt. Do not use this post office until they get this sorted out. read more

By far the worst P.O. in the western Suburbs! I deal with shipping and receiving from the Lombard Post Office for my business 4 or 5 days a week. Every time I go in there, it's a 20 min. wait for service if there is more than 3 people in line. They usually only have 1 person working the front desk and when that person rings the bell to get more help, no one comes up. I have seen the front desk person ring that bell four separate times and no one came up to help. This is by far the worst post office, for walk in service, that I have been to. read more

Received all of the wrong mail today. When I called the Post Office to let them know they told me that I have a new carrier and there was nothing they can do. The new carriers are let go on their own and mistakes do happen. I understand mistakes happen but this is my mail we're talking about here. This is the service that delivers my bills!! I asked to speak to the Post Master and she claimed that she was busy and I could call back tomorrow after 11. I asked when the PM left and she said call back tomorrow. After asking the same question 6 times she finally said she left already. I asked the woman her name (Felicia) and her employee number so she could be identified when I called the next day to file a complaint for her ignorance and attitude along with my unhappiness that my mail was incorrectly delivered and she told me that the PM would know who I was talking about, hopefully she's right. If this was a service I could change, I'd be switching to a different company.... To bad.... BYE FELICIA!!! read more

Went in today because I called to see if my package had arrived, the girl on the phone said yes but it wouldnt be delivered until the following day but she offered to let me come and pick it up. I said ok. went in and omg what a joke she lied and said she never told me that they were rude and completely nasty! I snapped hated to even lose my cool but I heard them talking terribly about me in the back area as the girl looked for my package! How disrespectful and Unprofessional!
