I wish I could give ZERO stars. The staff at USPS in Glen Ellyn does not know their roles. They couldn't give a simple solution for Priority Mail. They made me buy the wrong envelopes (and USPS has no return policy). When I went to the Addison USPS location, the staff there said that prepaid postage stickers only work with Priority Mail. I was in the Glen Ellyn area the next day and wanted to drop off the envelopes I had purchased the previous day from Addison. The staff member said to her colleague, "I don't know how to do this prepaid-sticker thing," and the manager said, "These prepaid stamps aren't allowed anymore." I took the envelopes to Addison and described what the manager of Glen Ellyn said. She said, "Whaaat," laughed, then took the envelopes from me and gave me the receipt with the same stickers. Take me word, save your trip and your frustration and go the other nearest USPS. read more

I had an eBay package arrive quickly to the GE post office location. they sat on it for FIVE days before finally releasing after an in depth search was initiated. I stopped going to this location during covid because of the horrendous service. Go to downtown Wheaton! Best, nicest people! read more

I have never written a review for any business ever, this is my first. Horrible service. The first time I came it was great, there was one employee that assisted me in dropping off prepaid mail. I came back and was greeted with three different employees that refused to take in my mail, and sent me to another USPS office where I learned that was not allowed. They made excuses rather than doing their job. I was not making them carry boxes, I offered to take all my packages in myself and put them in the delivery drop off tote; they refused service. My package got sent back to the post office after an attempted delivery to my house, however there was no adult home to sign it. When we called, the lady said to come back at 7:00, because the lady with my package didn't get back until 6:30. It was weird because they close at 6:30. However I still went with it. We called another time making sure they would still be open. Again, they said yes. We got there and I went in. The front door was unlocked, however the second door to actually get IN to the post office was locked. I knocked a few times and no one came until a lady saw me after 5 minutes and said "were closed" She kept trying to say that she had to take out the trash. So she left and told a lady in the back to help me through a small door. She said they were closed and when I told her what the lady said on the phone and showed her my package note that was left, she said it was weird someone told me to come back at 7:00. And yes, we did call the right post office. She told me to go have my mom sign it, and when my mom did, I got my package after they were closed! What a nice lady!! read more

The Glen Ellyn post office has absolutely horrible delivery service. They send you an email with a picture of the mail that is to be delivered that day and it doesn't come then or any time soon. I sent a package with 3 gifts to my brother in California last week for his birthday. I wrote a detailed explanation to him about the gifts, and brought the small package to the Glen Ellen post office. Today my brother called me confused because two of the three gifts- the ones that had monetary value-were not in the package. Had I not explained them in my note to him he would never know. I looked through these Yelp reviews and it wasn't long before I saw someone else whose package was robbed. I didn't think the gifts were so valuable that I needed to insure them- I was wrong. It just really angers me that quire likely someone from USPS, perhaps even in Glen Ellen, opened my package and helped themselves. Lesson learned read more

I've never understood why people who do not like their jobs continue to stay there. Why not find something they actually like. I'm not sure what to call the cashier attendant because they don't wear a badge. I walked in on 11/4/2024 around 530pm This woman had a face of misery and her tone and demeanor confirms it. I really hope that the post office checks their videos because her colleagues that were lingering around eating donuts chewing with their mouth open talking about other employees was definitely not professional. I felt she was rude she took forever because she constantly stopped to turn around and gossip when she would turn back around to help me she was yelling not speaking in a hostile manner very frightful. People like this don't value their jobs. Mind you this is a federal building. I think they need to go work at a zoo or a barn the way they were acting and talking about others. Very embarrassing. This continues to be a source of complete frustration for me. I now have proof that someone there stole an item out of an envelope that was sent to me. I've reported it and received zero interest in looking into this. Zero. There are thieves who work at this USPS facility and although we pay them a healthy wage, they aren't held accountable and now we need to find other means of getting our mail so that it isn't stolen before we receive it. In the first picture, you can see the scan of the envelope with some wrinkling because there's a bracelet in it. In the second one, the envelope is flat because the bracelet was removed. The slit envelope is conveniently off to the left of the picture. Both scans were taken the same day. It's such a violation to have federal workers who are supposed to be delivering our mail, going through our mail and keeping things for themselves instead. read more

I've been to many, many local Post Offices in the area over the past 15+ years. Thousands of times. Most are pretty good and the one I go to just across the border in Cook County is exceptional. I would give the location out, but I don't want to attract more foot traffic because the most I spend in line there, if there is a line, is maybe at most 3 - 4 minutes. Anyway, if you want to feel like a 3rd class citizen, or that you are sitting in the first grade chewing gum when the Sister teaching you turns around and slaps you silly - well, this is the place for you!! Most places, I'd refer to the people as "workers" - well, NOT this place. If they get BONUS PAY for being rude, then these folk must be rich. They protest when you don't use the "kiosk" but want to have your prepaid package scanned, or any package at all scanned. The make you feel like a pauper and they are the King/Queen and how dare you come in and bother them. They really don't want to do ANYTHING. Their goal is to NOT work - but yet, somehow, there they are - at an establishment in which they have a job and are SUPPOSED to work. They act like you are messing up their spa day if you want service. In particular, it occurs especially with the younger gal there in her early 20s. I'm guessing she has a job because it's impossible to fire her, as she is a federal worker and maybe having minority status makes the PostMaster skiddish to even talk to her. Who knows? Anyway, if you are having a GREAT DAY but want to finish as a car crash victim, do stop on by. Hope to read your story here soon! By the way, the Post Master here seemed sharp, efficient and helpful. I use this location often and find the staff helpful and courteous. Today they were out of the supplies I needed and so she went in back to see if they had more. She could not find what it was looking for but she did find an alternative that worked great. I think this location takes a lot of hits that they do not deserve. Keep up the great work! read more

Worst post office ever. The "girl" who works the front counter w her fake eyelashes and her horrible attitude is a poor reflection on the post office. Not sure why they would continue to let her deal w customers. Prior to my turn at the counter she was overly rude and disrespectful to this elderly white lady. She is there to collect her small paycheck and not for customer service. Maybe the supervisor should reconsider who they have upfront. read more

HORRIBLE!!! Some days I don't get any mail. Some days I get my mail and other peoples mail. Today my neighbor got four other peoples mail including a check I've been waiting for. I called the postmaster of the station and told her of many issues and she said they're having problems because some of the postal carriers can't find babysitters.I have friends that have mailed gift cards and packages from this post office to people who never received them. Boy lots of changes to this location and seems to be much more efficient with all the newer staff. Yes the passports slow the line down but the ladies that work there are speedy and always pleasant. Maybe that's just what they needed was some younger not so burned out employees. A few days ago, several packages from Amazon went astray. Although the email message said, "Your package has been delivered. It was handed to a resident," it hadn't been and wasn't. There was no way of knowing what had happened. And Amazon's robot just told me to wait and see if it showed up. Late morning the next day the doorbell rang. Our postman had found the packages in the clubhouse of the apartment complex next door to our condo association! (Both are on his route.) He says that happens a lot, and he makes it his job to retrieve and deliver them to the right customers, not just to those on his route, but wherever they go. Talk about going above and beyond. We had an awesome experience at this Glen Ellyn Post Office! Was expecting the worst on a weekend before Christmas, although it was crowded, the 2 women working the counters were on top of it all. They were very observant on what customers were there for and facilitated movement in the line! Best experience that I've ever seen at a Post Office! See previous review and I need to add that Mail was sent to my PO Box that required a signature. When this happens, I should be notified with a little yellow slip of paper. When I showed the employee a photo of the "return to sender" and let her know I was never notified, she agreed that I should have had that slip in my box but then said "they shouldn't have sent that to a PO BOX". Employees are so rude and don't wear masks. Not helpful at all. All of them have horrible attitudes.

I usually wouldn't critique a post office, but the organization and lack of employees is unbearable. Simple things would speed up their lines and eliminate some stress of their customers. I unfortunately have to visit the post office almost daily to overnight papers for work. Their self service kiosk has been a blessing but about three weeks ago it malfunctioned and I informed a manager of this. Three weeks later... it is still unavailable which then creates the enormous lines with ONE worker behind the counter. The usual wait time has now created every visit since then an average of 20-45 minute wait. Please, I don't think it's that difficult to address some of these issues! read more

I'm going to start conservatively with my review for this post office, since I've just been here once. I had a quick prepaid-shipping item to drop off 13 days before Christmas. The post office was extra busy because of the holiday season, but this is the first office that I've seen that went ahead and staffed it appropriately! They had 4 desk workers filtering people through. My wait wasn't more than 5 minutes. Of all the post offices in the area (comparing this one with Villa Park, Lombard, and Wheaton), I find that this one is the most consistently reliable with ability to actually send out a package. I am an eBay and Amazon seller, so I do a lot of my business over the weekend. I'd say at least 50% of the time, when visiting other locations in the area, the 24 hour kiosk is out of mailing labels, or the credit card reader isn't working, or they are out of Priority Mail packaging materials, or the bin is full so you can't add any more packages. This means that on many weekends, I end up driving from town to town trying to locate a post office where I can actually mail my packages. And I usually eventually end up here, since only a few times have they had any issue in my memory. So, long story short, if you too are a victim of the terrible service of the DuPage County post offices, play it safe and just drive out here. Average/3 stars is actually a pretty glowing review for a post office, in my book! read more

This is a very poorly run post office. They keep packages for days before delivering them. The staff is rude and not friendly - I am sure they are not overworked during this pandemic! Half the time no one is at a counter to help and then they make you feel like you are infringing on their time. The outdoor mail boxes get so full that you can't even get another letter in and therefore is very open for people to steal mail. If I want a letter or package to get to the destination, I drive to the Carol Stream sorting station. All the great employees have been fired - and for no reason. Wish the Postmaster General would look at things other than the bottom line (employee salaries). Sometimes a good employee is worth more $$$. read more

Because of everything that is going the post office at Yorktown mall is closed, and I am very sad because Chris is amazing. The young lady at the counter did not ask if I wanted to check to see if the address is correct or go over the shipping. When I asked to check the address she snap and said; well you were back there. We supposed to be practicing social distancing, I wasn't that far back to see if the address was correct. I really dislike going to this post office. Every single week we get someone else's mail. We have complained and left notes about this but it doesn't seem to matter. For two years now this has been happening. If I screwed up at my job nearly every week, I would not have a job anymore.
