The customer service here is horrible, they seem to be miserable every shift they come into, I've seen them disrespect an elderly lady and multiple people with their obnoxious and obvious eye rolls. Even if you greet them with respect they seem to have something up their behind and don't seem to greet you. I used the Northlake post office for passport services We were able to get an appt but failed to bring a picture that would work They helped on the spot and told us go back to Walgreens and get a refund ! I didn't think they would but Walgreens did! Great advice! Clerk #22 has the worst attitude. She is not customer friendly and if you speak at her, she does not speak back. It seems like if you aren't the same race as her, she demeans/belittles you and is very intimidating. At no point should any customer feel this way spending money and supporting her job. Maybe she needs to be put in the mail room and sort mail instead of making paying customers feel like this. read more

This is one of the few post offices that remain open until 7:00PM, which is very convenient for those who cannot stop by earlier but the customer service provided by the staff is horrible. read more

IN THE WAITING LINE Take a deep breath (and consider popping a Xanax) if you're heading to this USPS office in Northlake. In preparation for an upcoming honeymoon to Cozumel, I needed to renew my passport and came here to make sure everything was filled out correctly before mailing it. This post office is on North Ave, just west of Wolf Rd, and is only accessible to eastbound traffic. Westbound cars will have to hang a U-turn. The parking lot is kind of a mess, honestly. They changed the parking spaces from straight to angled but made no effort to cover up the old lines or repaint new ones. Consequently, there's crisscrossing lines everywhere and no one knows where (or how) to park their car. There's also a healthy number of potholes to look out for. Inside, the post office has all the standard envelopes, bubble mailers and shipping supplies that one would expect. Staff behind the counter were helping customers when I stopped in on 1/30/20, but only one of them could assist with passports, so I had to wait specifically for him. Apparently the lady in front of me tried to pay with healing crystals or some sh*t, and I waited some more. Once I finally made it to the front, the guy who processed my passport was half asleep. He didn't smile, mumbled when he spoke, and made no effort to be friendly. I felt like I was in a scene from Shaun of the Dead. * TL;DR * Along with the DMV, post offices are among the places I most dread going to. Understaffing, woeful attitudes, and long wait times (even when the line is short) make for a compelling case to do things online next time. You can add 'nightmare parking lot' to the list of offences for the Northlake location. As hard as this place sucks, it does bring to mind one of my favorite Catch-22's: The beatings will continue until morale improves. read more

I dont know if it is because of Covid but I walked in and out! No lines I was all alone. Clerk though on the crabby side didn't appreciate it! Made a joke she gave me the death look. I came here with 30 or so packages to send off to customers for my company. This is the first time I have ever sent out packages, so I didn't have any stamps on them or anything. I walked in, and it was empty. Not a single person in there, which was great for 5pm. I proceeded to the counter, and there was a lady and man working. When I told the lady that I needed to send all of these packages out (all they needed was postage) she told me that she would, but she would have to stop if there was a line forming of people. I could not believe what I heard! I am a paying customer, why would she push me aside when others started coming in? Especially if there is another employee at the counter. I could see if I had 100+ packages send out but I didn't. It took her MAYBE 8 minutes to get all the packages with the proper labels. I am going to be handling my business at another post office from now on, to me this wasn't a display of good customer service. read more

I went to get my kids passports renewed at 12:30 pm on a Saturday. Their website says they close at 1:30pm. They had a few people in line and an employee by the name of Juan said it was going to take them until 3pm to finish those customers and I should have came earlier. Overall, this place has bad customer service. People look so unhappy working there. read more

I just witnessed a descrimination against a Hispanic woman from both of the attendees of this post office , this particular woman had a appointment for a passport at 9 am on 8/17/19 I saw how this woman was ignored from the time she got there which was a bit before 9 until 11:48 am no one in line wasn't busy or lack of help when this younger boy about 11 yrs old goes up to The attendent asking are you guys going to help us ??? Then is when obviously she couldn't be ignored any longer so they made sure the process was as difficult as possible when it's a simple quick process to apply for such , why would they do this when all this person wanted was to be taken care off , I will take this a bit higher in to the chain because it's becoming an every day thing against Hispanics being discriminated against , this division it's become apparent since that situation in NC when our president sited with the White supremacy group now they feel that it's ok to turn back time and live the Jim Crow era , Sad times read more

One positive about the Northlake USPS - out of state packages go directly to O'Hare airport and save 1 day in shipping time. DuPage USPS (including Elmhurst) all travel to Carol Stream first before heading to O'Hare - what a waste of time!!! So the couple extra miles down IL Rte 64 is definitely worth the trip if you want your 2-3 day Priority Mail to actually be 2-3 days, or your out of state birthday / Christmas cards to get there ASAP. read more
