Special bullet-proof door to hand the employees packages. WoW......

Whatever you do. DO NOT STOP HERE. I stopped here on my way to downtown DC and wished I never did. Wasted almost 30min to mail a simple priority mail package. This is truly the worst post office I've ever seen in my lifetime. Upon entering your not greeted or anything but shaken down for change from the homeless person in the lobby with a trash bag begging for change. You can tell there is no ventilation going on inside. Feels very damp and nasty even. There is also spider webs clearly hanging from the ceiling. The line was moving very very slow. The two employees kept leaving their post and going to the back I could see one of them was checking their phone in the back. Upon getting to the counter. I encountered the most low class employee in the world. Talking almost complete slang and was almost hard to even hear her thru the 4in thick bullet-proof glass. After finally mailing the package I wanted to mail which was just a simple letter I left. The overall customer base here is NOWHERE near middle-class and the employees are actually worse then the customer base. The general crowd is mainly adults. About 1/3 of them while I was in-line was arguing with the postal employees behind the glass. Also the place needed a seriously power washing with Lysol or something. Also due to the fact we're in a pandemic and this place has almost 99.9% no ventilation inside is truly amazing they have not been closed by the health dept. Also upon leaving. I was shaken down for change in the parking lot by two bums not wearing masks and had to tell both of them to stand back in a very assertive tone. Truly WoW...... NEVER AGAIN...... USPS. This location is a disgrace to the federal government. I mean really.

Employees always have a bad attitude. And every time I come to send mail they never have any of the supplies in stock.

I can't speak for all of the staff but clearly USPS is not worried about customer service when hiring individuals at all!!!!

I had to return and fortunately the gentleman was a sheer delight to deal with. He was professional, knowledgeable, kind and just plain nice. He was the type of person that I expect to see when I need assistance.

Luckily, I looked around enough and found a way to enter the building to notify the employees of my appointment (although I would argue they should have a sign with some sort of instruction for this situation). Another man was with me doing the same thing. A woman, whose name I don't know, treated me with such aggression and hostility that I have never experienced before. I opted for a passport appointment rather than a drop off location so that I could double check that all of my materials looked good-- to no avail. She ordered me around, barely reviewed my documents, rolled her eyes and scolded me for anything I said or did, and got me out of there as quickly as possible. Most frustratingly, I just recieved notice from the state department that there was an error on one of my materials-- one she could've easily helped me out with if she just gave me an ounce of her attention and did her job. Incredibly disappointing. This is also my first Yelp review ever unfortunuately-- I've never had such a bad experience.
