They carry a full line of boxes and packing supplies, which is handy. Conveniently located near the Eastern Market Metro and Trader Joe's. DC had issues with mail delivery reliability early in the pandemic, but this post office and the mail carriers are back on their game now. The little table to write and wrap packages is in front of the cashier so people naturally flock to the box area to wrap and the woman behind the counter yells at them not to wrap there constantly ... is that easier than just fixing the dumb layout? They were rude and unprofessional complete with attitude, eyeball rolling, and neck bobbing, I thought I was on a set for "Fridays - In the Hood"! I was trying to pick up a package that was not delivered yesterday, I found out from Amazon that the delivery person for some odd reason did not deliver it but sent an update to Amazon that the package was being held at the Post Office "at the customer's request". That would be an odd request since she got it while out on her deliveries and the only one that could make a request like that would be me. One of them laughed and said she (package carrier) does that sometimes where I told her that was a lie. Her response was "I know" while still laughing. This is crazy!!! The Longworth House Office Building Post Office is quite simply the best US Post Office I have…read moreencountered anywhere. The lines move quickly, the staff is friendly and they always have an abundance of stamps and mailing supplies. Mail is dispatched in the morning and after 4:00 p,m, in the afternoon. Staff will provide a special manual cancellation if you ask for it. The post office is located in the basement of the Longworth Building, but is open to the public. You will have to go through security upon entering the Capitol complex. It is easily reached by tunnel from the Cannon and Rayburn buildings.

Went here for my passport appointment and was treated like an absolute nuisance from the start. Luckily, I looked around enough and found a way to enter the building to notify the employees of my appointment (although I would argue they should have a sign with some sort of instruction for this situation). Another man was with me doing the same thing. A woman, whose name I don't know, treated me with such aggression and hostility that I have never experienced before. I opted for a passport appointment rather than a drop off location so that I could double check that all of my materials looked good-- to no avail. She ordered me around, barely reviewed my documents, rolled her eyes and scolded me for anything I said or did, and got me out of there as quickly as possible. Most frustratingly, I just recieved notice from the state department that there was an error on one of my materials-- one she could've easily helped me out with if she just gave me an ounce of her attention and did her job. Incredibly disappointing. This is also my first Yelp review ever unfortunuately-- I've never had such a bad experience.
