I flew into SLC, UT for a business conference on Monday and stayed in Park City. Some plans were cancelled last minute, so I decided to go fishing instead. I called Utah Pro Fly Fishing around 3PM and was able to schedule a full day the next morning. The customer service was awesome and timely. Immediately received an email following purchase with all the necessary information. Met the following morning with my guide Aaron; it was just the two of us all day long fishing the Provo River. We fished a dropper rig in the AM and hammered several browns and a white fish. I lost as many as I landed. In the afternoon, we caught several more on dry flies which was super fun in a different area of the river. Aaron was super awesome, very knowledgeable and put me on the fish. The Provo River is amazing and absolutely gorgeous. Saw very few people all day long, didn't answer my phone or emails. It was the perfect ending to a business trip. I will fish with these guys again and would recommend them to anyone. read more

My outing was scheduled from 8-12 am on September 17th from Park City. My guide Kyson I believe. The day started as he was almost 40 minutes late. He stated the power had gone out at his home in Odgen due to the rain storm. I asked him if he brought my had that I had paid $25 for. He was not even aware that I had ordered a hat. By the time we got our waders and boots and down to the river it was already 9:10 am. Kyson was very polite and showed me a couple casting and mending technics. At that time it was raining lightly off and on. Around 10:15 am it started raining heavily and quite windy so I decided just to cut the trip at that point. Kyson stated he would make a call to see if I could get some type of refund for all of the chaos. I truly feel if everyone was on point I could have at least gotten another hour of fishing in. So that was on the 17th and today is the 26th and still not even a hat. Lesson learned form this as I pre-paid a 25% tip top the guide. I have quite a bit of family in Utah and you can be sure I have notified them all about my experience. read more

He received a fly rod for Christmas, so I wanted to get him out a with guide, with someone who is an expert to show him the ropes. Our guide was Tim. He was excellent. He was an expert and just as important, he was very kind and friendly and a great teacher. You never know how good a company is or how bad they are until they are faced with the challenge. Our day started off with achallenge. We were notified that our original a signed guide couldn't make it. So Allie scrambled and found us a replacement guide which only delayed us an hour and a half. Picked Utahpro fly fishing to go in a 4hr trip yesterday while in town for a work conference and had a really great time. Justin called and e mailed ahead of time to answer all of our questions. They even picked us up at the hotel and drove us to location. He supplies EVERYTHING so you don't have to worry about a thing. Each of us caught at least 4 fish. Justin is patient when teaching you the fly fishing techniques and taught us 3 different ways to fly fish. I should also add there were 4 of us and nobody had ever fly fished before. If you're looking to fly fish in Utah, Justin is your guy! After lots of googling/yelping around, we decided to go with Utah Pro Fly Fishing instead of a few other (and cheaper) alternatives ... best decision we could have ever made! We were able to schedule only two days before our 1/2 day trip. My boyfriend fly fishes often and I am a beginner, but we both had the best day possible with Justin. I was a little skeptical going just because it was new to me, but now I can't wait to go again. Not only did we catch 9 fish, we caught nice sized ones and had a blast doing so. Was kind of a busy day on the river but Caleb found us a couple of good spots and we got our share for the day. My wife and I selected Utah Pro Fly Fishing for our first fly fishing experience based on all its five-star Yelp reviews, and we are very pleased to add another. Our guide, Dave, set us up with waders, boots and fishing gear that were in excellent condition (my waders were new), and we were off to the Provo River. Dave gave us clear instruction and supportive coaching, first with strike indicators and then with dry flies. We were casting (doubtless not very well, but casting) in no time, and it wasn't long before we were catching fish. Dave even helped my wife overcome a bit of squeamishness about holding a slimy, wriggling fish so that he could grab a photo of her prized catch (a rainbow trout, rare in our stretch of the river) before she gently released it back into the water. During our morning together, in between repairing our lines when they caught in the rocks and helping us net our catches, Dave explained why we needed to understand the ecosystem of a river, what the fish eat, and even what day it is, so that the flies on the line match the insects that are "in season" at the time.
