Our family of 7 did this over our grandkids Spring Break. The age range was 10 to 79. Reed was our guide and he was awesome! He has a great personality. HORRIFIC AND TRAUMATIC - UTV Adventure Tours is a Death Trap This was an absolute nightmare. They forced us to drive a UTV with known mechanical failures, which repeatedly lost power--three times before the inevitable happened. On the fourth failure, the UTV lost speed, flipped three times, and left me with a severe facial injury, a concussion, and mounting medical bills. Losing speed on dunes is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I was rushed to the ER, I couldn't work for a month because of the concussion. Did the company care? Not at all. They showed zero concern, offered no apology, and instead demanded payment for their broken vehicle, slapped us with a mandatory tip for this nightmare, and bombarded us with threats of daily fines. We took our first ever utv tour today, and it was a great experience. Our group included 2 adults, 2 kids age 4 and 7. Some parts were challenging however overall I feel its a very kid friendly tour aided by the wonderful kindness of Casidy, and her husband the "radical" James. Totally Unsafe, Negligent, and Greedy - Avoid UTV Adventure Tours at All Costs Our experience with UTV Adventure Tours (UTVAT) in Washington, Utah, was nothing short of terrifying. What was supposed to be a safe adventure turned into a near-death experience, hospital emergency room, surgery, and long recovery, all due to the company's gross negligence, complete disregard for customer safety, and blatant greed. What happened: Our tour consisted of four UTVs, all traveling in single-file formation. The group consisted of eleven people from four families. The first vehicle was driven by a guide with one passenger. The rest of us followed in the one-line formation, maintaining the same speed and path as the lead vehicle. Complete disregard for the safety of customers: * Within the first hour, one of the UTVs experienced the same recurring serious drivetrain failure, leading to sudden loss of power. This happened three times in a row. Each time, the guide attempted the same "fix" and insisted we continue using the vehicle. * After the second failure, it was clear that the fix didn't work. * After the third failure, the guide called the head office, as the vehicle was clearly unsafe and could break down at any moment. * Yet, demonstrating complete disregard for customer safety and gross negligence, the customers were told to continue driving machine with known severe mechanical failure! Moreover, the repeatedly failing vehicle was put at the end of the convoy, where it could not be observed and helped if needed. * The breakdowns were not caused by excessive speed (all vehicles traveled in one-lane formation with the same speed). Nor were they caused by poor driving. The failures persisted no matter which driver was behind the wheel. Every next driver was more cautious than the previous, yet the vehicle would still break down). Final breakdown of the UTV: * The fourth time the same UTV lost power, it locked up and rolled over. A young woman, PhD student, was sitting in the passenger seat and sustained severe injury just half an inch from her eye. She suffered a concussion, extensive bleeding, emergency surgery, CT scans, and facial scars. * After being released from the hospital and returning home, her condition worsened, resulting in another ER visit. She continued to experience headaches for weeks and missed a month of school under doctor's orders. Her medical bills have already reached $6,830 (and more are still pending). * Other passengers received minor injuries but were lucky to avoid emergency room. Absence of Emergency Protocols: * Since the malfunctioning UTV was put at the rear of the formation, the guide was unaware of the accident for a long time. After arriving at the next stop, noticing the missing vehicle, and receiving no replies from the walkie-talkie, the guide waited another 10 minutes before finally initiating a search. * Meanwhile, the wounded passengers struggled to escape the rolled UTV. * Luckily, our group included three doctors who administered first aid and called for an ambulance, while the guide seemed clueless about what to do and had no emergency protocol in place. Absence of Safety Protocols: * Company did not know how handle malfunctioning vehicles: despite the vehicle having repeated serious mechanical problem, company insisted on customers to keep driving it, willingly and knowingly risking their lives. * Company did not know what to do in case of accident, delaying search party, and failing to call ambulance immediately. * To make matters worse, the guide was observed chain-vaping and jittery while driving! We can only wonder whether the company had any drug testing protocols. * We were discouraged from wearing helmets, and the guide himself did not wear one either. Shockingly Greedy: * From the start, the guide reminded us about tipping, even though a 20% tip had already been included in our reservation bill--before the tour even started! * The tour, sold as a 3-hour adventure, actually lasted 1 hour 40 minutes, due to delayed start (none of the four UTVs were filled with gas), repeating break downs and repairs, and eventual accident cutting it short. Despite this, the company charged our credit cards the full amount, including the 20% tip for this disastrous experience. * Instead of showing any concern for the injured passenger or her mounting medical bills, the company immediately attempted to charge our credit cards for repairs to the malfunctioning UTV. * When we refused to pay, they began intimidating us with daily (!) fines for the repair. Conclusion: The company knowingly made us to ride in a malfunctioning UTV, until it finally caused a severe accident. This company prioritizes profits over safety. Stay away if you value your life and your health. read more

Came to Zion to run my half marathon and wanted to go on a fun thrilling adventure and found this company! We were able to get a booked slot the same day even with the run in town (2500 runners). Randall was very informative and enjoys talking about what he loves. He was patient and explained everything we needed to know to have an adrenaline safe good time. Our tour guides James and Casidy were quite the fun duo. They were very welcoming and genuine. We had fun hauling sand our own utv following behind them. The rock crawl was the most intense, fun and stomach twirling experience worth every second of fear and excitement. The views were unreal. They took us to a few stops to take in the most amazing views you can see and snag a picture if you want one. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want something out of the bustle of Zion itself and If you want to see the beauty that Hurricane, UT has to show. The red sand was vibrant and the rock formations looked almost fake but they are VERY MUCH real. There are also some cute doggos that were just as welcoming! We were visiting the area from Southern California and we're so happy that we added this adventure to our itinerary. When we were heading to their shop we actually went into the wrong driveway initially - but their neighbors were so kind to point us in the right direction and even added that we'd have fun and the folks are nice - this already set the tone for our visit. Our family had reserved two UTVs for 4 adults and 3 children. The check in process was easy and the husband and wife team that were our guides for the day were helpful and gave us great tips for the kiddos in our group. For our tour there was only one other car with a couple with us and it was great because it felt almost like a private tour. No one in our group had driven a UTV before whereas it seemed that the other couple on our tour did - regardless it seemed that our guides were able to accommodate both of us and offered the perfect amount of guidance and leeway. They stopped at some great lookouts and were happy to help with photos and were terrific about offering water and snacks for the kids. Our guides had a great knowledge of the area and were very approachable. Upon our return they even offered to use their compressed air hose to help us and our carseat get a bit cleaned up. [we used our own carseat for a better fit, however they did provide a couple of booster seats for the kiddos that needed them]. As for Covid concerns - I appreciated that they sanitized their vehicles right in front of us, it was a great comfort. In addition you only have to share the vehicle with people in your reservation. I'd definitely recommend this to any of my friends who are planning to visit the area - it was a highlight of our trip and an experience everyone in our group haven't stopped talking about. read more

A must do experience in Southern Utah! Worth every penny. Did the 3 hour tour with wife and (3 yo) son. He's kinda small, but we put his car seat in the front passenger seat and he had a blast! Cars have headsets with intercoms and we were able to talk to our son throughout the trip. You really get to see it all as far as terrain goes. Great trails, some rock crawls, sand dunes, and down by the lake. I've done a fair amount of riding, but this was a great way to introduce the family with a guided tour. It's very unfortunate that I have to leave a 1 star review but the customer service here is awful. Specifically Randall, the owner, which is even more disappointing. We drove down for an adventurous birthday weekend trip and were very much looking forward to riding some UTV's. So you can imagine the excitement when we were able book 3 of the 4 seater UTV's for our group of 9 a few days before our trip. The day of our scheduled tour we went for a hike at Zion earlier in the day and had a shuttle booked to take us up and bring us back from our hike. Unfortunately the shuttle ran into some problems and arrived late picking us up. Part of our group had skipped out on the hike and arrived early for our scheduled UTV tour time. They then informed the owner the rest of the group was coming soon but we were running a bit behind (20 min) due to unforeseen circumstances. The owner told our group we would not be able to do the tour. I asked to speak with the owner, knowing we were at fault for our late arrival but wanting to figure out what the best thing to do would be and how they would be able to accommodate us. The owner immediately came off rude and told us we could not do the tour that we would not make it. Completely understand, okay, so what next? Are we able to be refunded or even partially refunded? The owner with the same demeanor stated "No. Absolutely not." (I am a little upset at this point at his manner of speaking) Okay, then possibly we can reschedule or be fit in to another time slot for a different day? His reply "Sure we can fit you in for another day, you guys will need to pay full price again for that day." -- Surely you would think there would be some way to be accommodated for a 20 minute late arrival after spending ~$930. Especially when there is no policies anywhere on their website in regards to late arrival. I have to share, I am still very appalled at some of things the owner said to me (I'm also not the type of person to complain or raise my voice). He in no way wanted to accommodate or help us. The way he saw it was he already had our money and there was nothing we could do about it so he didn't need to act/speak politely. At one point even stating " we are going to keep every penny we get." Ultimately, I am not upset that we didn't get to ride the UTV's. What I am most upset about is how a business owner can be so arrogant and ill-mannered and cannot accommodate what should be the most important thing to a business, and that is us, the customer. To those looking to book UTV's, spend your money on a good hearted business. There are plenty out there. :) In response to Randall: I fully understand, so then policies need to be listed on your website regarding late arrivals to let your customers know this. If you are referring to us not being 30 minutes "early" for our 5pm scheduled tour time, you are right we were not early, we were 20 minutes late and arrived at 5:20pm. After how disrespectfully you spoke to me, I don't understand how any person would stay for your tour and that is why the 2 members of my group left. Please learn how to better accommodate your customers in these situations, at a very minimum be polite and a update your policies. Wishing you the very best, but people need to know this. read more

The Can-Am was well maintained and had plenty of power to tackle all trails and obstacles. James and Cassidy led us through trails, sand dunes, and took us to locations with breathtaking views. The experience exceeded all expectations and was worth every penny. I did not expect such a thrilling ride with so many beautiful views. James and Casidy knew the trails extremely well and there would be no way we could have found all of the great views and exciting trails on our own. Got super lucky and wound up on a private tour since nobody else was signed up for our time slot. It was awesome because our guide was able to customize the tour just for us since we were the only ones there. We did the 4 hour tour, and the time just FLEW by! Don't hesitate to go for the longer tours, the shorter ones will leave you wanting more. The UTV was a blast to drive, and they even had us do a rock climb up an 80 degree slope. My wife screamed her head off, which me and the kids enjoyed immensely! UTV Adventure tours also provided plenty of water, and snacks including Rice Krispy treats and trail mix. Such a great tour. Sand Hollow is such an amazing place. It is basically a mountain / plateau covered with sand dunes and rocky outcrops. It also has a reservoir in one area. I had never seen anything like it. Brad was a good tour guide. I have been UTVing before and the guides usually drive so slow. Brad drove a fast pace and made it fun. I especially enjoyed the rock crawls and going over the bigger sand dunes. The scenic lookout points that you go to are pretty amazing. I was also really impressed by the capabilities of the UTV that we drove....a CanAm Maverick I think. It did things that I did not think were possible. The only thing I don't like about the UTV industry is the whole selling of insurance. We bought some, but it is a money maker for them. Basically, if a belt or tire fails on your tour, you have to pay huge fees unless you buy insurance. We bought the insurance, but this annoys me a bit since the belts and tires may have endured most of their abuse at the hands of other renters. The rental is already $400+ as it is. Still, this was so fun that it got me thinking about getting my own UTV. I liked it that much. read more

Our tour was incredible! The machine they gave us to drive was awesome and well maintained. The briefing to drive the vehicle was very thorough and easy to understand. You drive out from the garage following your tour guide giving you a little time to get used to driving the vehicle before turning off road and going on the ride of your life. Our guide was fabulous and took us through the off roading excursion making sure we saw all the incredible sites of the park. He always made sure we were comfortable with every part of the tour and checked on us at every challenging part of the drive to make sure our vehicle was in the right gears, give us a brief on how to drive the more challenging obstacles and making sure we were comfortable taking the challenge. We couldn't be happier with our tour. We made several stops and took incredible pictures at the cliffs, down at the beach, out to the Flintstone house and so many more places. We rented a 4 seater for a 3-hr guided tour. There is no rental option available so we had to settle for this. We get there 2 mins before the appointment and let them know such via phone 1 hr early. The owner tells us that there is a big group and we must get there before the appointment time. We make it on time but the owner still makes it apparent that he is not happy we didn't get there earlier. Well, the "big group" consisted of 4 others. We had our paperwork filled out and were rdy to go in 5 mins. They were still dusting the UTV and the other group wasn't even teed up to go. Orientation took another 10mins for THEM and we were sitting in our UTV waiting to go. The owner says even if we leave late, we will still get back on time. Sure. We take off thru the paved road leading to back country trail. I have rented and driven UTVs before and I will say the guide goes VERY slow. Another thing that I have thought about was how dusty it is to follow other UTV. What made it more annoying was that how much they baby's their vehicles. They make you sign the waiver that you are basically responsible for the vehicle but they don't even let you drive! They make FREQUENT stops and very lengthy stops. I would stay I probably spent close to an hour out of our 2hr 30 min total time. The guide is nice but he will tell you the vehicle needs to "cooled". I'm not sure how my other rented UTVs endured 4-5 hours of non-stop running in hot weather. Bottom line : - these guys care nothing but their bottom line. I always didn't like the "insurance" for tires and belt. I mean these are part of running the business ! I never understand why this industry as a whole places these burdens on customers. In addition, I certainly did not like the owner's demeanor especially when he didn't have his ducks in a row. - they drive slow and stop VERY frequently. If you are at all experienced and want some sort of adventure, look elsewhere. read more

The entire experience was so positive and fun from the time we arrived through tour the tour and back. The equipment is top of the line and very safe. I found this tour on TripAdvisor while searching for a UTV tour for our group of 6. We were coming from all around the country (East Coast and Midwest) and had never been in UTVs before!
