Rented a couple side by sides for the 2026 Off Road Games. As always, this is my yearly therapy worth every dime. Truly, the smiles per miles are unmatched. The team from start to finish are all amazing and kind people. The folks who book are knowledgeable, patient, and thankfully not some call center. The team at the event are equally kind, especially considering the massive amount of customers they are helping for three days straight. Only downside, we had several issues with the machines including needing to switch both out. Once again, the team was professional and kind during the whole process. They are brand new machines, it's just a tough hot environment with people beating the hell out of these rentals all day. My only critique at the event would be setting up a better system after you have checked in at the computer. You are sent into the trailer to get a helmet/goggles and sometimes someone is in there to help you and sometimes not. So, it already starts off a little confusing for beginners. Once you navigate out of the trailer, you go outside to total chaos. There is no desk/line or someone that stands out to ask for help to get your machine. You sort of just have to flag someone down which often times there's confusion. Perhaps consider setting up one more desk or kiosk when leaving the trailer and getting your machine assigned. Lastly, perhaps a big sign for the helmet return as this is a confusing when you get back. I almost put my dirty helmet back on the clean helmet shelves because there is no person out sign saying to put them on the black table out side. Unfortunately, our experience with Mad Moose was very disappointing. Our group had more than 20 vehicle rentals reserved. We had communicated ahead of time that we would be arriving when they opened so we could get our vehicles quickly and start our day. Despite that, there were only three employees working, making the check-in and rental process extremely slow and causing significant delays for our entire group. The bigger issue came once we were in Zion National Park. Our vehicle broke down and left us stranded. It took nearly two hours for assistance to arrive, and when they did, they were unable to fix the problem. We were then charged to have the vehicle towed, even though the breakdown was due to the rental vehicle itself. To make matters worse, we were never offered any type of insurance or protection plan before renting, so we weren't even given the opportunity to consider additional coverage. We also witnessed several other vehicles in our group get flat tires. In those cases, help again took around two hours to arrive, and the employees showed up with the wrong size replacement tires and without a tire jack, creating even more delays and frustration. Mechanical issues can happen, but the lack of preparation, poor customer service, slow response times, and inadequate support made what should have been a fun adventure incredibly stressful. What a great add-on to our trip to Utah. We booked the stargazing tour, and booked one car for our group of 4. The outing lasts a total of 2 hours, give or take, and you are obviously driving at night. We did begin before sunset, so it was beautiful to be riding around and see the beautiful colors of the sky play out across our view as we rumbled through the desert. I loved how safety-conscious the guide was and how attentive he was to our group. We did get to see the beautiful night sky and identified a lot of constellations with the help of an application that the guide had. The vehicle was also in great condition and overall, was a really fun activity, not for the faint of heart, though, as you are whipping around in the dark, and pushing though some interesting terrain. read more

There are a ton of rental places in Southern Utah. The machines are the same/similar and the landscape is perfect for this no matter who you choose, but what set my experience apart was my guide and the great customer service. Everyone from booking to the office staff and especially my Guide Cassie. I had a great experience and would never go anywhere else. I was so hooked I came back 3 days in a row and they answered a TON of my questions along the way! You can see from my video (which Cassie took) how awesome and supportive she was. I really appreciated having a female guide too. I am sure the male guides are great, but being a solo female traveler it was fun to have a female guide. Cassie clearly enjoys this and it felt more like hanging with a safe and knowledgeable friend vs. just being another customer. The machines themselves are in perfect working order and were ready well ahead of my appointment time. They also offer rentals without a guide and a variety of tours. I tailored my tours to what I wanted to learn and see since I had never done it before but prefer rock crawling. The worst part about the whole thing was that I couldn't stay forever and keep exploring with Cassie. Their shop also had little bibs and bobs to buy if you want gloves or face wipes or whatever. read more

Great company! Brian, our guide, was awesome. He made sure everyone was comfortable with the process of driving and what we would be doing. The UTVs were in great conditions and had plenty of power to get the job done. We were issued full helmets and goggles. Brian even swapped out our tinted goggles for clear ones as the day wound down. There were three of us in ours and all the passengers had grab handles. The ride included rocky areas and lots of sliding around in the sand dunes. There is a bathroom stop about halfway through the trip and several stops for photos. Again, Brian made sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. I've seen that some reviews complained about vehicle damage. Brian took pics of each vehicle from all sides and the dash gauges before and after the trip to ensure everything was documented. We consider this excursion to be one of the highlights of our trip to Utah. Mad Moose did a great job! read more

My experience with Mad Moose rentals was terrible. I rented a RZR for 2 days. I used it for one half of the first day when it ended breaking. There was an absolute failure of maintenance of this rig. On very light/easy terrain, and at very slow speeds the ball joint had failed, causing damage to the lower control arm and wheel. Can you imagine if I was going at higher speeds, it could have been my life! Additionally, they did not continue my rental for the rest of the first day and second day. A service was provided to take me back to my campsite, but after that, I was left with no rig. Mad Moose Rentals stated that if I wanted another rig, I would have to pay for a whole new service! Basically doubling what I paid already. Mad Moose Rentals stated that "...damage occurred due to the way the machine was driven..." How is this possible to pinpoint me as the direct cause when it is a Rental vehicle that multiple people use. Also, the shop manger wasn't even on the clock/on facility grounds when he decided that it was due to my driving. he made this conclusion without even getting eyes on the vehicle. His conclusion was based off of one picture. I ended up disputing the charge for the rental and it went in my favor. Mad Moose Rentals decided to charge me again for the rental after the dispute had gone through in my favor!! They wish to illegally reverse the bank's decision on their own! We reserved an ATV well in advance for the Matt's Off-Road event and were literally driving in from out of town with our family of five when they canceled our reservation. No real solution, no effort to help--just canceled and left us stranded. Because of their last-minute cancellation, every other rental company in the area was completely booked. Now we're attending an off-road event without an off-road vehicle, which completely defeats the purpose of the trip and was a huge disappointment for our kids. We built our whole vacation around an event that required us to book a rental. We needed a 5 seater with air conditioning due to the extreme temperatures expected. Went on a Friday. Paperwork was fast and easy. Both the watercraft and the life jackets were in really good shape. Gas was included which was a nice surprise. Overall a reasonable price. They waited for the police to leave and said they wouldn't be towing us back while laughing and left us out in the desert 3 miles away from the event to figure it out for ourselves. read more

NOT TO BE MISSED! My work arranged an 2 hour ATV tour for about 20 people but Mad Moose Rental was equipped to handle up to a group of 40. Mad Moose Rentals was organized and ready with the 4 seater Polaris vehicles. I highly recommend doing a guided tour on the ATV if you never been on the trails in the area for a better and safer experience. Blake Schroeder was our main guide. Our group saw a lot in 2 hours! Got to see some incredible views and rock formations. We went on the West Rim trail, the points of interests we went to are doable by foot but it is a very long hike so it's best to get there by ATV. I was impressed at how the vehicle could get around climbing on bumpy rock formations, it felt like going on a ride at Disney, very fun. The weather was perfect and in awe in what I saw. Thank you Mad Moose for the awesome experience. It was a great adventure and stunning outdoor tour. I rented a 4 seater RZR for 3 days. The initial interaction was great, picked-up the Razor and handled paperwork fairly quickly with no problem. Staff was helpful. On the 2nd day the RZR leaned against a rock, causing some minor scratches to the paint on the passenger side, no other problems since I was not moving forward at the time. When I returned the RZR on the 3rd day, she took pictures of the 4 sides (as they did when I picked it up) but didn't say anything. Over a week later I noted that my $1,500 deposit was not returned, and no message as to why not. I contacted them and they said they would look into it. The next day I received an email with a work order attached in excess of $1,600 to repair the scratches, with my insurance deductible being $1,500, they just kept the deposit. Seems the work had already been done. While I expected there would be some request to pay for repairs, I was never notified, never got a call describing the repairs, no approval ever requested - they simply kept my deposit. I messaged customer service twice requesting clarification regarding the repairs and process, but after 2 weeks I still have not received a call. Bottom line, add $1,500 to your cost to rent from Mad Moose. read more

This was a last-minute effort to try to find a sunset tour for ATVs in Zion Park. They accommodated us literally two hours before our trip. We tried several other vendors as well and no one could make this happen like these guys! I would highly recommend this company and, in particular, Brent! He went out of his way to make sure that our family of five had the experience we were looking for! He was patient with the young adults and had a lot of humor with us along the way. He could read the confidence levels of each of the children and accommodated each of them with their driving technique! It did help that all of my kids were over the age of 18 so we were able to do several different trails with confidence. He was good at taking pictures along way and making sure everyone had a fair amount of time. My kids thought Brent had good humor. The views of this sunset were breath taking. SCAM SCAM SCAM these people have no shame either. I wish I would have read the hundred of reviews about how they scam people for "damages". Other mention it briefly on yelp but if you want more confirmation check out their Google reviews. These people sure did get us on this claim of damages. Charged hundreds of dollars to a random credit card in our party for a crack in a machine that did not exist. I've never been so flabbergasted by a fraudster in my life. While I was politely decking the managers repeated demands for me to sign a piece of paper saying I agree to the damages she told me to fuck off and several other profanities. Another Damage Deposit Poor Review The folks working there are awesome. The owner, however, is a no-show when trying to get answers. He is quick to reply when you're asking questions before making a purchase. However, you will be ignored after he gets your money. I fully understand losing my $1,500 deposit due to my nephew being involved in an accident. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. If you are in a wreck, you will pay no matter who is at fault. The accident doesn't get investigated by a third party. They just take your $1,500 deposit. Losing the $1,500 deposit is better than paying the total cost, but a $16,000+ in damages is also crazy. DO NOT BOOK WITH MAD MOOSE. Decided to stop by Utah for a short trip and wanted to check out this rental since it was right by our hotel. I am so angry that they are a scamming company. We were charged for technical issues and it was OUR fault that we didn't check before we drove.. but the funny thing is that they did the "inspection".. it was literally a minute and they didn't check the issues that they claimed we broke. We went at the speed limit and came back and said there was a broken belt and several other faults. They blamed us and said we could ask to make sure the inspection was done properly before we left, but it's our first time so we had no idea what their inspection is supposed to look like. Long story short... our vehicle got stuck for pretty much the whole duration of the time we rented it for. We had to get towed by another rider out there in the dunes on several occasions. We came back... nicely put in our complaint and asked as a courtesy if they would be nice enough to apply a discount due to the mishaps... we received no apologies, got blank stares, asked to speak to a manager when I spoke to Bailey, and received a "manager is not available at the moment" response. We did the western trim tour for 4 hours which included several different types of adventures. We also had the upgraded utv which was super fast and had tons of horse power. I booked the tour and then read reviews on Yelp which made us nervous. Because of the reviews of being charged for broken items etc etc we had that in the back of our minds thru out the tour. I wish I could give this company 5 stars which I rarely ever do so I'll let you know the reasons why we marked down the rating 1) they texted you an address to meet but they are in the middle of moving so it's not the right address but super close, 2 mins away Felt they could text you this ahead of time 2) again because they are in the middle of moving their office has no bathroom but there is one a couple mins down the road That's it ! This company was amazing to deal with ! We had Rob as our guide and Jason tagged along. This was Robs backyard and it was the absolute highlight of our trip. Rob gauged our comfort level and let it rip! My husband felt a little sick from the heat mid tour and Rob gave him his personal cooling towel, which worked. I ended up taking over the driving at this point, Rob was a great instructor. I had no problems with any of the rock climbing, Rob would explain where the tires needed to be etc etc The utv had Bluetooth too ! They pack up a cooler with tons of water for you too. I would recommend bringing a guard of some type to our over your face keep the dust from flying in and light gloves ? The bars you hold on too or steering wheel after 4 hours hurt the hands a little. So much fun!!! The machine we rented are expensive so I get them wanting to protect their equipment, we didn't get charged anything extra. Nothing broke or got scratched. The bigger machine probably has more room for error thou because it does sit higher. If your looking for a rush .... This is it. Have fun don't be wreck less and you should be fine. After communicating with Polaris Adventures and my credit card dispute via USAA, I just received a full refund on the tire charge. Not sure what finally did it, but I'm extremely grateful. If we had not had the photos, we would not have had a chance. But instead we have a $385 refund. I did also receive an emailed apology. They explained the situation was not handled appropriately and they have taken actions to ensure this doesn't happen again. I guess others will see. They did finally make things right. Miles was our guide and he listened to what we wanted and gave it to us and then some! Like all employees Miles is super friendly and by far the best. I've been on a lot of thrilling adventures but this is the BEST! We did a 4 hrs sunset tour with a 2 seater, zip thru the sand, up and down dunes, and across dunes and rock crawling! Warning, if your going for thrills you might end up side down. This cost me $50 for insurance and $1500 for out of pocket cost. Along with the $499 4hr tour cost. Total $2049 ouch! read more
