"Best Nail Salon in Prescott for 9 Years In Row" yet the worst rated on YELP. Hmmmm... I guess I can understand that. My experience here was just OK, but then again, I only require the most basic service, and I'm prolly not their typical customer. The manicure part was just OK. The color was not expertly applied. (Yes, it was BLACK. And no, I'm going to a costume party.) There was no clear top coat, and the finish was bubbly. (Cheap product?) I was left at the drying station for a hour, yet I was the only person in the salon. The price was cheap, the location close, and they got the job done, "good enough for Rock 'n' Roll" anyway. They tried to upsell me to gel claiming the color would start flaking in 2 days (LOL! How dumb is that... to diss your own quality!) but I'd have none if that. The color was OK for about a week, and I did my own touch-ups a top coat to make it last longer. I'm sure that most ladies would have been dissatisfied with what I received. I feel like I couldn't get through to the nail tech about the shape I wanted (square oval) and then today the worker got a little snippy when I asked her to make it more oval. So, I'm giving it 3 stars because the young guy who did my pedicure did a great job. I also got a full set of acrylic pink and white ombre. 3 stars is halfway between 0, the rating my manicure deserved and 5, the rating my pedicure deserved. I guess it should be 2.5, but I'll give them a half a point. Firstly I noticed that the did not push back cuticles or remove dust. I asked him about it but he said it didn't matter. Then I had to ask him to fix the shape before he airbrushed the ombre because they were lumpy and crooked. I still ended up with duck nails. Unsurprising they began lifting by the next morning. When I called, they did offer to fix them, but added that removing dust wasn't included ( there is the other half of a star for thier rating) so I elected to fix them myself. For the record, I often do my own nails, and removing dust is imperative to avoid lifting, but this was for a special event and I wanted ombre. In the end I spent the evening of the event, the next day, hiding my hands because they looked so bad. read more

I have been going to V and B for almost 15 years. They use to be the best place in town. I now live in Phoenix but my bridal shower was hosted in Prescott. I decided to wait and get my nails done up at V and B the morning of my shower. My mom warned me that they have been declining with quality work but I went anyway. I couldn't have been more disappointed. I asked for a pedicure and a polish change on my nails. They convinced me that I should just do a manicure because it's only $8 more. Well the polish change was already a pretty steep price to what I'm use to in Phoenix and I figured if that's what they charge for just a polish change them for $8 more I might as well just do the manicure. It was hands down the worst "manicure" I've ever had. So bad that I thought for sure they must have ended up just doing the polish change for me. He barely touched a file to my nails and took about 30 seconds to clip off a few stray cuticles. I was done in less than 10 minutes and I got gels! Then I got put into the chair for my pedicure. All in all my pedicure was pretty good. The part that really bothered me was when they went to do my polish. The guy told me I'm going to leave now and take care of another customer but she is going to paint your toes for you. Which I was perfectly fine with it doesn't make a difference to me... That is until she started painting them. I want you to picture your 5 year old painting your toes... She kept getting it all over my toes and then having to break out the nail polish remover to clean it up. She put on like 6 coats of polish so it looked all thick and uneven. And the best part is my toes chipped like crazy by the third day! Save your money and go somewhere that cares about the quality of work they provide. I won't be returning again. read more

My mom wanted me to leave a review for this great place for her. She has been coming here for 10 years and absolutely loves it here! Wendy and Ron have been so great to both my parents! They usually come in monthly for manicures and pedicures, but a recent hospital stay for my mom kept her away for about 3 months. None of her nails were lifted or falling off. That's pretty amazing! She is in a wheelchair now and they are very considerate of her bad knee and leg and are so gentle with her. Her nails always are beautiful and fun! Bad bad experience.... no soaking and removing dead cuticle. no cleaning under the nail. Gel is already pealing and the nails weren't completely covered with top coat. RUDE EMPLOYEES BAD NAILS If I could give it 0 stars right now I would, I went in about a week ago, got a fill there for the first time. The nails barely lasted a week but, I decided to go back for a full set anyways. Today I got a HORRIBLE set of nails. The nails are WAVEY AND CROOKED and the shape is not what I asked for. I came to V&B nails to get a full gel set. When I walked in, the place was packed, and I offered to make an appointment for a later date if they were too busy. They assured me that no, they were not too busy, and sat me down at a station. The woman that started working on my nails started brushing on gel polish instead. I objected, and she got extremely agitated (did not speak any English) and yelled across the room to Wendy, who also got upset and said that next time I came in, I had to specifically say a full gel set, which I did. Apparently, Wendy had an appointment, and so rushed through doing my nails (some of them were crooked, just clearly looked like a rush job). Her appointment never even showed up, and when I pointed out the errors in my nails, she said that's "how they're supposed to look." Still charged me full price. I've been going here on and off for a little over a year now. It's not good. The people are nice enough but they definitely just want to rush you in and out. They don't have many gel color selections. I've asked them repeatedly to soak my gel/ shellac before sanding my nails down with the dremel tool but they won't. They say it takes too long. Really? It's painful and strips my nails down paper thin and I'm paying for it. Manicures are supposed to be fun and relaxing. Not at this place. My pedicure was great. I had my eyebrows waxed and they got hot wax in my eye. Super painful and still tried to charge me for the wax. Also, they beyond double dip their wax "spatula" (popsicle stick). I watched her use the same one on 4 different people. Unfortunately this was after mine were done. GROSS! They use a tub liner at all times, what they don't do is sterilize the instruments that they use. They use the same instruments from one person to the next. The last time I was there which was 8 days go I started to develop a change in the colorization of my big toe nails. I was informed that I was getting fungus on both toes. My daughter and I have been coming here monthly for the last two years and have been very pleased, but they are a little pricey. Yesterday, 5/4 was my birthday and we went in for our pedicures. No one else was there or waiting, so we expected a leisurely pedicure. We were in and out really fast. Neither of us are pleased with the results. Last month, I had Celine do my waxing and pedicure. I asked for her, but she wasn't there. Celine is exceptional! I would go back if assured I could get Celine again, but not for any other provider. I went here with my mom. We called ahead and made an appointment. I got a shellac manicure and pedicure, and my mom just got a normal mani/pedi. I was taken to get my nails done right away and my mom was taken for her pedicure. My mom sat in the chair for an hour before anyone even started working on her. I however was given the most unpleasant man to work on my nails. He didn't cut my cuticles, and he was getting the nail polish all over my skin. If you have ever got shellac before, if they get the nail polish on your skin or cuticles the manicure starts to peal off really quickly. When I noticed he was doing this I asked him if he could fix it and he asked me to "please let him do his job." He also got up in the middle of my manicure to work on someone else. He didn't tell me where he was going and left me sitting there for 15 minutes. My shellac manicure only lasted 5 days, and it usually lasts me 3 weeks when I go somewhere else. I have been here before and have gotten one of the ladies, and they where nice but do not get the guys if you go here. I however, will not be back! read more
