Picked me up at 10PM after I had popped my sidewall running over an island in the rain. I had them drop me off at the nearest tire shop and the driver was extremely helpful in providing me direction and handling my vehicle. He was careful getting my car on the flatbed in the rain up to unloading it and parking it for me on the lot. His prices were competitive and I was actually expecting to pay more compared to the other tow companies I've worked with in the past. Maybe it's San Jose prices but even then, at 10PM the price I paid was low! Definitely deserves more than 5 stars as he was quick, careful especially in the pouring rain, and he offered to give me a ride if I were going near his destination. My husband's 1973 Chevy Nova needed to be towed from San Jose to Hollister. The tow truck driver from AAA made a bs excuse that he couldn't tow it because the exhaust system was rusted and that if he loaded it on a flatbed it didn't have enough clearance and would snap the system off, and basically weaseled his lazy self out of towing the car. I called V&B and he was at my car in 10 minutes. Loaded the car up without a single problem or mention of any issue with the "rusted exhaust system" and hauled a** to Hollister in an hour. If we ever need a tow again this is the only company I will use. I'm sorry I didn't get the driver's name but his expertise and work ethic did not go unnoticed. Its a great towing service. There is a reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5. I took help from them to tow my car 1.6 miles from my home to an auto repair shop. They charge you less if you tow the car within San Jose and if you move even 0.1 mile into another city they will charge you more. This is what happened with me. Believe me or not, I wasn't even aware that the auto repair shop was 0.3 miles inside Milpitas from San Jose. Charging me more just because of the reason that it was 0.3 miles inside Milpitas, doesn't sound fair to me. I did not try to trick them and neither did they. But, I think they should consider such edge cases. Rest everything was great, the person who came was polite & helpful. Problem: Long sitting 1999 Mercedes, battery dead, doors locked (electronic locks dead due to battery) and no way in, and I needed it towed to my mechanic. If I could give no stars I would. He was very rude and didn't know how to properly strap a older car. He thought I didn't speak Spanish and was talking shit about the person I was with in Spanish for no reason. We were very friendly until the end. The owner of the car literally got on the floor to strap his own vehicle and when he was just checking the rear to make sure it was secure as it was an expensive vehicle the tow guy became upset for him checking and said I'd rather not tow and took the car off, we waited nearly 40 mins for him to immediately just remove the car and we were just trying to make sure the car was hooked good. Great transaction! Called Vince on Friday and got a quote to move a 1951 Chevy Pickup from Mount Hamilton Road to 10th Street in San Jose. Called and confirmed Saturday's pickup. Having a classic car means you need to have the car towed on occasion. My car had been in storage at a friend's house and Vicent knew exactly what to do and how to move a car that is tough to move.
