Called in to get a quote for an oil change for my car. I let Duc know I needed full synthetic oil - he quoted me $30. Wow, that's quite a deal! I walk in, he confirms I was the one who called for the oil change. He gets started right away and estimates 20 min. Well, he wasn't wrong. It was 15 min so yeah they work fast. I tell him I'll be paying card since I see the Visa and MasterCard signs on the door. He tells me $22 and... cash only. Alarms in my head. I ask him if he used synthetic oil - no, and says I was supposed to tell him. Though it was discussed, I should have double checked before he got started, so I'm feeling the regret of coming here. I run over to 7/11 to get some cash. When I get back, he tells me "okay, $25." Way to make a bad situation worse by trying to swindle me out of $3. I call him out directly on the misquote and he laughs it off saying $22 is fine. Excellent service. I now have crappy oil in my car. Bad service and customer skills. I really hate that he changed the price to take advantage of me. The hardest of passes for any of your car needs unless you only care about cheap prices and subpar quality work. I love this place and have been going here for years. People are honest there and don't try to cheat you. I usually go here for oil changes and brake replacements. They use OEM. The only down side is that the workers eat together and so the shop closes for like an hour or so, but you never know when they will have their lunch. I always go before 11am so can get in and out. read more

This place is located on Harbor and Kent ( between McFadden and Edinger). I always go here now for my oil changes. They are very reasonable with their prices! I drive a 2010 Honda Civic and he only charges me $20 to change the oil for me using authentic Honda factory synthetic oil. They do it extremely fast and I'd only have to wait around 20 minutes before my car is done. I usually just sit on one of the chairs while either observing my car or watch the Vietnamese dramas they usually have on. haha The only problem that may occur is there is a language barrier and they don't speak much English, but the prices are very reasonable and I'd recommend it to anyone. read more

Duc and his staff are real down to earth guys. He won't beat around the bush when it comes to doing his auto repairs. My truck was having some engine cylinder misfire problems; and he also discovered some other things. He suggested a major tune up, plus the timing belt replacement. Please don't waste your precious time and hard earned money at VD "Rip-Off" and Repair Nothing Shop! You have been warned. (June 2015) As a first time customer, took my Honda Oddyssey van in for some work. They kept my van there for a week to replace the engine mount (bought my own parts), timing belt, oil change, and oil pan. He charged me close to $900.00 (cash only). The next day, the engine light lit-up again. The van started to shake when it got up to 45 miles. That did not happen before I brought it in. I did not have time to bring the van in again, or wanting to have it kept there for another week. (August 2015) Found some time to take the van back in to have him check on his previous work. He kept the van there for three days, saying he will find out what's wrong and will call. No call. I finally called him. He said that it will cost at least another $800.00 to fix xyz. I have enough of this nonsense, so I came back to take my van to another repairshop. The guy make me pay $50 in order to give me back my key, saying that he has been fixing my van and changed the oil, etc... whatever. I paid and got my van out...for good. Duc is the man over there. Took my 98 civic out of death row and now runs like a champ. I did whole mess of shiet on the car since I never cared or bothered to take good care of it. Timing belt, (replace ALL the belts), replaced cracked exhaust manifold, transmission flush, oil change, water pump, rear brake shoe, fuel and air filter, thermostat, alignment, fuel filter and air filter, cam seal, crank seal, new valve cover. all for $1,000. To top it off, he knocked it out in 2 DAYS man. I mean he checked everything out for you and made sure your ride is good to go. Any other place will straight jack you im sure of it. I live 40 mi away and thanks to a good homie he recommended me to him and took 5 of his family members cars I might add. Now I am recommending all of you. One stop shop! read more

Duke is VERY REASONABLE WITH HIS PRICES. I would even say his prices are lower than the surrounding shops. I've shopped around the Santa Ana area and he's seems to be one of the best around. I've taken both mine and my wife's Lexus' here for the several years we had it. Never had a problem with the repairs. Never had to take anything back again. Tucked away behind a taqueria, a donut shop, & a liquor store. V&D auto repair is there to service your vehicle. Whether it be an oil change or changing the brake pads/rotors. They are very economical compared to other places! I use to take my car to Jiffy Lube for oil changes, but all that changed when I found out about this place here! Why pay $30+ for an oil change at JL when you can pay $20 flat here! Let's not forget about the wait times at JF either! At V&D you're out in 25 minutes or less! Duc is the name of the owner & is very friendly/funny. Not pushy like other mechanics who at times insist for you to get other services done. If he finds anything wrong with your vehicle he let's you know & gives you a quote. Trust me you won't pay an arm & a leg here! Due to neglect my brake pads were well worn out & I needed to replace the rotors as well. I called around & was quoted $300-350 for only the parts & not including labor! After reading previous reviews, I took my truck here to replace the radiator and hoses. Duk performed the service. I came in the morning to ask about pricing, he had availability, and I picked my truck up that afternoon. He saved me $400 from what the dealership wanted for the same work. Worst customer service ever!!! I had called yesterday to let them know that I'll be stopping by the next day during lunch to get my oil change. So the next day I drove there during my lunch and the guy Tien was soo rude. I ask if he has time to do my oil change, he ignore me and talk to some other guys. After standing there for a while I ask him again if he has time than he finally said no with a rude look. You lost a customer and I would not refer anyone to come to this place. read more
