Was recommended the shop by two other mechanic shops I normally go to. I came by a month and a half ago with pictures of my AC compressor with hoses and asked for a price for a rebuild and they quoted me anywhere from 150 to 250.... I bring in the same AC clutch of hoses today and he now quoted me $550-$600...... literally three times the price he originally quoted. To be fair it wasn't the original Guy spoke to so I asked him. Why was I quoted differently and he said that I was lying about the original quote.... So do yourself a favor record them (if you still trust him to rebuild your stuff and not over price you) I drove about 40 minutes one way to come to this place.... I would not recommend the shop. I called the two shops who recommended this place and asked them if $600 for a rebuild sounds right and both shops told me that is absolutely outrageous pricing, that they get their parts fixed there for about $250-$300... I don't know what scam the shop is conducting, but be careful you guys. I have an update. I found a brand new AC compressor from Amazon for $232, and I found the hose lines for $80. So basically $330 compared to $600 for a remanufactured AC compressor..... I can provide receipts in photographs to show my proof of purchases. This shop is officially a rip off. read more

I came here September 2023 to get my compressor replaced and I have had bone chilling ac since. Now in December 2024 I brought my car in to have the heater fixed, they gave me the option to replace the radiator completely and its clogged pipes or flush it out and save some money. We went with save some money and it ended up being at least 3 or more flushes and a lot of work for them but now the heater is as hot as an oven. My ac stopped working after I got it back from the heater repair but they were able to take it back in the next day and solved the issue for free no questions asked. Drive up, zero parking, trying to communicate with head guy at counter, had zero people skills, attitude to start off, really set me off, shut my mouth, how much, he says 75 to test, which don't get counted into price & if you use them it's a extra charge of 145.00 plus. I returned to AC Exchange for an inspection because the new AC compressor they installed was not working. They informed me the compressor was defective and suggested I pay for another repair. Manager J~ claimed that they replaced it with a new unit; however, after verifying with the supplier, I learned there is no record of this part being sold to AC Exchange in the past two years. I strongly suspect that a used part was installed instead of a new one, so I filed a complaint demanding documented proof. So far, I have received no response. If AC Exchange intends to replace the AC compressor, be sure to personally confirm that a new compressor is actually being installed in your vehicle. read more

Fast diagnosis and repair. We were looking for a place where auto air conditioning is their specialty. Fixed our air for a reasonable fee. Our compressor had quit. As you know here in CA we need air conditioning for many days...even during the winter months. José was helpful and friendly. This repair came with a 6 month warranty. If you have any auth A/C related issues, go to this spot right here. Jose is the man when it comes to these repairs. He's humble and knows how to run a business. It only took about 30-40 min to run a diagnosis. When I went to Honda dealership for my Honda Fit, it took them about 2 hours just figure what was going with my A/C. Once they had the diagnosis, estimate cost of repairs and to get a new condenser would have been almost $1000. They still had to order the part. When I went to Jose at AC Exchange Auto Air Conditioning, it was less than $600 and he already had the condenser. I learned my lesson for sure to check out local mechanics and not just rely on the dealership's shops. They do a good job as well, but they cost more. I think it has to do with the type of business they run. They employ more employees, they have front desk and a bigger shop. I'm sure those things are accounted for in costs. Whereas AC Exchange Auto Air Conditioning is smaller, local business, it has one front desk person and most of the time you speak to the mechanic. I recommend this place 100%. read more

My AC hasn't worked in almost 2 years. My mechanic pretty much advised to the purchase all new oem parts that included a new compressor, condenser and high pressure valve for almost $1200. I decided to browse through yelp and took a risk to call AC Exchange. Quang answered and welcomed my business by first having me sign some paperwork to diagnose my issue for $45. Jose said that the radiator fan and service valve needs to be changed along with a freon re-charge for $395! I gladly agreed and the process took about 3 hours. One thing I learned from this is to always get a second opinion especially if its not their specialty. My AC blows ice cold now thanks to AC exchange. There is a 6,000 mile guarantee included. If you are willing to pay $125 for car examination, this is the place to go. They charged me &125 to examine my AC and although they rebuild it last year, they want to charge $600 again for rebuild. When I brought this up they of course denied everything and don't take any responsibilities and try to blame me for it.
