My previous gel polish was grinded off using the drill and it burned my nails when she did it and my nails are so thin now. i usually have very thick nails. I even spoke up and said something saying "I usually have had my polish taken off just with a tool". Every time I spoke about something with my nails I was looked at with judgement and sighs and 3 workers came over making it a big deal about it. I am most upset about my nails because the polish is see through and my nails at the ends are chipping away so due to the the technician grinding down my nails. When filling my nails she was filling my fingers and not my nails. Not a good experience with no help from her team around her. V&T nails came highly recommended by a friend after I had a bad experience at a different salon. I went in looking to get gel polish removed from my toenails & a regular pedicure (not gel). The location is very convenient if you like Trader Joe's, but parking can be tough. The atmosphere of the salon is truly tranquil and lovely; they always have very relaxing videos playing of traditional Vietnamese cooking, almost like ASMR but with nature and cooking sounds. Everyone I interacted with was very professional and polite. The only bummer is that my pedicure looked a bit amateur; the polish wasn't applied evenly & I could see a line near the base of the nail where the top layer of polish wasn't applied all the way to the base. I was bummed; a typical polish pedicure shouldn't be hard to do well. Maybe their gel & other services would be better. read more

Ok so i brought my sister here and I've never had a bad experience here at all. I asked for a full acrylic set with almond shape. Easy. I look at the board: 45$ for a full acrylic set. Awesome! No. The lady who did my nails was kind and did and awesome job with the shape. We go to pay. The girl checking us out is so kind but interrupted by the other woman and, somehow, my set is now 70$. 70? From 45? For an ok experience. And she said it's extra because of the length and shape. Literally what I got solid brown color with short almond. Which is not 70$. Whatever right? Wrong, a week later: the polish is peeling. I've never had this happen idek what you have to do wrong to have the polish peeling off the acrylic. And I've never had such a mid set for 70$. Sorry to you if you go here. read more

I never leave reviews but my experience was horrible immediately after walking in for my appointment. Never been here. I was embarrassed by whom I assume was the owner... because I didn't want a gel polish. She told me they didn't do reg polish there and that it doesn't work w acrylic(?), I had to point out on her SERVICE board that they do in fact offer it... I wanted to walk out at that very moment. But I didn't. My nails are a mess, sticky stuff all over my hands and on the inside of them. Bottom of my nails look a mess with sticky stuff. My nail and skin are bonded together on the sides AND inside of my nails. They aren't all the same length or width. Then because they were closing she offered gel for a discount because I assume she wanted to go home (which I get) She said it takes long to dry reg nails... but now I'm feeling like I got the discount to get rushed out. Highly recommend! I am 7 months pregnant and my friend took me to get pedicures. We paid for the VIP package. It was certainly pricy but they make sure you get your moneys worth! I would say the spent at least an hour pampering my feet and legs. Extensive amounts of different products were used along with stones and brushes, giving me a super relaxing experience. My masseur took great detail in the different muscle groups of my feet and calves. My skin feels so soft and moisturized. I chose Gel polish. My toes were painted perfectly, not a flaw to be seen. Very evident they know what they're doing here. Atmosphere was very peaceful. Quiet. They had relaxing instrumental music playing and a show featuring gardening; making me forget that there's a legit snow storm outside. 10/10 would recommend to anyone read more

Third time here. I called and was told I could get in at 4:30pm on a Tuesday. When I arrived, I signed in and was told to sit in an unprepared Pedi chair. I was there for a ManiPedi with gel upgrade. I waited almost 20 minutes. I finally spoke up to the man (owner?) and asked when might we get started. All staff were busy. One gal said she would be there in a minute. Finally got over to me, but was busy with her phone. Really? I told her that I had gel polish on. She proceeded to use a Dremel-like tool to sand off the old gel instead of wrapping in acetone and foil. I could not understand her because she had a face mask on and spoke poor English. She did ok on my toes. I suggested that while she was working on my feet, why not get the foil wrap going on my hands to speed things up. She did say she'd get someone else to do it. No such luck. So she put on the foil/acetone and brought me to a table, said guy (working on someone else) would be over in 10 minutes. I told her I did not want to wait 10 minutes. So she proceed to Dremel away again. (I was watching the clock and it was a good 1/2 hour until the guy had finished) Asked if I wanted to clip the nails and I told her I wanted them 1/8" shorter. She was randomly cutting with a toenail clipper and missed my pinky nail and got the skin. I yelled and pulled away. I don't think she understood she cut me! I showed her and she says almost jokingly, you wanna cut me? Are you kidding me?! I could not get out of there fast enough. I let her finish, but she was extremely rough, never clipped the cuticles. I don't think she knew what she was doing. In addition, nothing looked like it had been sanitized. Tools and that little Dremel were filthy--did not put on a clean tip for sanding. This place is full of hacks. Everyone does nails differently. No consistency. In addition, I asked for 10% birthday discount and the owner said maybe because I had missed the expiration date. Then, I showed him my finger. He gave me the discount and apologized. I won't be back, boss! As an aside, I read Delphina H.'s review about the guy, alleged owner, who gave me the same crap as my last visit in March. I wanted my nails a particular shape and he insisted on something else. Upon entering the salon, I was greeted with a friendly smile by the owner and asked what she can do for me. They have an iPad for checking in and out which is pretty slick but you have to know where the button is to check in. The owner just kept saying enter your phone number but she didn't say or show me where on the iPad. Overall, service was good. The nail tech took her time and didn't try to hurry up and get me out the door so she could service another customer like most other nail salons I've been to before. This is the first nail salon besides my cousin's that I've been to in the Twin Cities where I wasn't hurt in the process of getting my toes or nails done. I like that the nail tech actually listened to my request on how I like too have the shape of nails to be and didn't try to change my mind. The place is nice and clean and didn't have any chemical smell like most nail salons. The gel nail polish that I had selected is classified as vegan so it's nice to know that there's not a lot of chemical. The salon is up to date on new techniques of getting old gel nail polish off without having to soak your hand in a bowl of acetone or aluminum foil wrapped. They have a ton of gel colors to choose from as well as traditional nail polish colors. They also have a different techniques to make your toenails shine and shimmer with application like foundation on your your toes. It looked so cool. The only complaint is that I didn't see a price list for each of the services available. They had a sandwich board advertising spa pedicure and manicure for $39.99 but it seems like the offer is not mentioned so my pedicure and gel manicure with tips came to $81. Which I think is a little more spendy than some other places. But they offer beverages and chemically free smelling makes it worth it. They also have a small pedicure chair for the kiddos which was cool. I like that they were friendly and helpful with my daughter and helped her go potty since I was in the middle of a pedicure. Usually Ive had really kind and talented nail technicians here, but today I had the opposite of that. I asked for an Acryllic nail with dip powder when i made a reservation. When I got here, they confirmed what I said, then were confused when I said I wanted the Acryllic nails. The woman seemed really irritated and was flat out rude to me. This place is great. I've been coming here for about 2 years, and I have never had a bad experience. I typically get either the deluxe or VIP pedicure with gel polish and a basic manicure. Came here during covid and felt very safe! I've been here before and they always do a great job! Everyone I have had for nails or pedicure is excellent, polish always lasts and I leave feeling perfect. Everyone wears masks, they have plexiglass for the manicures and are spread out by one empty table between each person and the pedicure stations are spread out as well. They do online reservations which is what I did and was super easy to do, they used to take walk ins not sure if they still do. read more

Guys - you can pay and tip with VENMO. So awesome. This place caught my eye because I'm at Trader Joe's all the time (who isn't) so I figured I'd give it a try. I walked in without an appointment and asked a gel manicure. I had to wait only for about fifteen minutes. Nobody heckled me about getting the dip powder or adding on a pedicure which was so nice. I know what I need! The manicure was super well done, but quick, and the technician was very friendly. She was gentle on my cuticles and didn't judge me for peeling off my last gel manicure. They have a ton of colors to choose from, and ask you about shape/length/etc. I think she checked in with me at just about every step to make sure I was happy with what she was doing which was great even though I'm not overly picky. Inconsistent pedicures at V & T which is a bummer bc I have had great experiences here before, but you never know who will available. My sister and I made an appt for gel pedi's; upon arriving she was seated and greeted by a really talented older woman. She was thorough, kind, and did an awesome job! So based on her experience, she would give it a 4/5. Unfortunately for me, I had what seemed like a new and inexperienced nail technician. She followed a totally different process than the woman who was graciously attending to my sister. She was rough with the tools, and in general just didn't give off a great vibe. Let me preface this by saying that I really do feel for these women. I tip very well, and I'm super appreciative of the time and care they put into providing me with a service. I don't take that for granted. It's a privilege. It took 5 minutes to clip and scrub my nails and no exaggeration over 45 mins just to paint them. Midway through, my sister was totally done and left to grab tacos next doors. Again, her pedicure looked perfect, the pedi was thorough, relaxing, and she was very satisfied with her experience. After the rapid clipping and scrub, she began to paint my nails. After the second coat she bumped my larger toe pretty dramatically. Instead of fixing it, she added 3 additional coats, that's before we even got to the topcoat. After having my feet shoved under the UV lamp more times than made sense, the technician immediately tried to put my socks on. I told her I wanted to take a look at them and she got upset. Well I knew why when I looked, I was so uncomfortable... There were pretty large bumps and bubbles throughout the toe that she had dinged and in general my pedi looks pretty botched. I could go on and on about how things progressed after that. The owner came in and semi salvaged the toe bc the technician was unable to fix. I'm currently looking at them and they almost look like I had done them myself. Which trust me isn't good. They are still very uneven, and messy. The owner did not seem very apologetic, even though I was very patient and kind. I felt like the technician had done this before and I could sense the tension when the owner came over. I ended up paying full price, and tipped but I won't be returning. It really is a crap shoot trying to find a good pedi in Saint Paul! read more

I REALLY wanted to like this place. I went there several times, like 4 to 5 times. I finally found a chick that listened to my needs and actually did a good job. So why the two stars? I know I place much emphasis on a nail place that has a website and online booking! awesome!! right? but little do you know, the booking is literally BS. I booked several appointments with the technician I like (she goes by TT). But most of the time I arrive for appointment only to find out she is NOT here. One time is she is 'stuck in traffic'. Another time another lady employed there told me she forgot; 'she thought it was at 11:00am', when our appointment was scheduled for 10:00am. Yet another time, and this is my favorite, I show up for my 1:00 pm appointment (they open at 10am), and she is not there and I am informed that she has the flu. Ok....? why not call me when you open and you see there is an appointment with said employee? Oh, great question, which I posed to the lady who was acting like it was my fault for showing up on time for my appointment. She proceeded to tell me that life happens and it is not her fault her employee did not show up ( I mean sure, but there is such a thing as a curtesy call). Anyways, as you can see there is no professionalism by this nail salon. And I have not even touched the topic of the service. I get the dip manicure, which in other places lasts quiet a long time, this place...at the most 9 days. I am paying 45 dollars plus tip (which they insist on being via Venmo) for it to be a crappy job, they don't even cut the cuticles. I had come here to get my nails done for prom last month (medium acrylic French tips). This was my first time getting my nails professionally done in years and my first time having acrylic nails. They seemed like really nice people. The man that did my nails (I don't remember his name, sorry) positioned the acrylic in a weird way in which my real nails were ripped off underneath with the acrylic. I've visited once a month for nearly a year and I've noticed a steady decline the past few months since they've switched ownership. Personally, I have to ask them to keep scrubbing because they rush through it and I've seen them rush through other customers' services as well. I've also caught them skipping part of my pedicure or choosing my scent for me so I make note of what's included in the service because they've cut corners when I haven't. Overall, I've lost a lot of trust and won't be back. It's not worth it if I have to be my own quality assurance. The man on staff can also be a bit pushy with customers. read more

The guy who did my nails treated me like I was taking up too much of his time, he also told me what I should get done to my nails instead of what I was asking him to do! We were not greeted right away upon walking in, which wasn't a huge deal but the actual nail painting was messy and on our skin upon closer inspection and lots of nail area was left unpainted. I'm a Flight attendant and had gotten some gemstones put on with my fresh nail color at a different place in another state and the gems came off in one day. My nails looked a little sad and when I went to Minneapolis I found this place. The lady with a beautiful smile was able to sand down the glue and save the color as well as put new topcoat on my whole nails so that it all was shiny and matched each other.
