They have lots of gel color choices. The owner use to have a shop behind her house, and now she's in an actual small strip mall. It's located next to Dixie Bowl. Prices are very reasonable. I didn't get the name of my technician, but I went in with acrylic on my nails and wanted them taken off and then get dip powder on my natural nails. This technician proceeds to take an artificial nail tip and rip off my acrylic nails (I've never seen this "technique" before) so while she's doing that it's ripping off my natural nails and causing me to bleed. She says "you wanted tips, right?" When I originally didn't, but at this point I have to because she's ripped off my natural nails. She puts the tips on and proceeds with the dip powder, when she finishes she buffs my nails and instead of just buffing the nail she is buffing over my skin, and is breaking down the skin around my nails causing me to bleed again. Her customer service skills need work, as well as her ability to be gentle with customers. She didn't apologize once, instead getting irritated with me that I was jerking my hands and saying ow. Overall my nails look decent, but it's still a one star rating due to the lack of caring from her and the other technicians around her who were well aware of my discomfort and frustration.

It's always a red flag for me when a shop showcases OPI nail polish, but doesn't actually offer it. I was in for a gel manicure and a toe polish change (I recently had a pedicure with my normal technician, who is currently out of the country--which is how I ended up here). Granted, the previous polish on my toes was dark (OPI shade Lincoln Park After Dark for my ladies who know); but the nail technician made VERY LITTLE effort to actually remove it. It's going to take a little more than 1 barely-moist cotton poof, so I was subjected to intense scrubbing with subpar results. I had to ask her to remove more of it, to little avail. I have included photos of the previous polish that can still be seen, despite me choosing a bright red that would typically mask any small imperfections. We then moved to the manicure. I was subjected to very uncomfortable pushing of my cuticles with THE NAIL TECHNICIAN'S OWN NAILS. She would eventually get a real tool, but I have never had a professional tech do this! Not even sure that is sanitary. On completion of the manicure, there was poor polish coverage & bubbles around the edges. I had asked for festive nail art (Valentine's Day is around the corner)--it was like pulling teeth to get a decent design. It doesn't look horrible from afar but up close it looks like a child's artwork. I won't be back and will not recommend.

Approximately 13 days following the service, I noticed two of my nails separating from my nail bed (this indicates the service was not done properly). After 15 days, I lost two nails. While I greatly appreciate the service, I think it is unlikely I will continue to go to 79 Nails due to this most recent experience. When I pay decent money for a service, I need to know that the nails will be durable. I do not engage in activities that would lead to my nails breaking, and I've never had this concern before.

However, I'm currently a caregiver for my mom and wanted to treat myself. I walked in back in September and Rose was so kind and patient with me. I wanted to get something nice done before I flew to Ireland. The staff worked with me to create these custom design nails of a claddaugh and Celtic design. The nails lasted me a month! I got so many compliments. So I went back yesterday to get some Halloween nails. Jennifer helped with the nail art and was meticulous in trying to get the design on the witch hat. Both times I went there are plenty of regulars, which I always think is a good sign. I will definitely go back. There is plenty of free parking in front of the building. Oh don't forget to bring cash to tip your nail tech!

My nails were overly damaged during the service and are paper thin now. 2. To remove previous dip/polish they have your entire hands soak in a bowl of chemicals. The smell is so strong I instantly got lightheaded and had to ask for a mask. 3. Due to the harsh full hand chemical soak my knuckles began to bleed. Normally salons will wrap just the fingernail in polish remover. 4. They only let you tip in cash, I asked to tip by card but was refused. Tips aren't taxed so why make it harder on clients to tip?
