This was a pre-op visit for my upcoming Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) with Dr. Carol Johnston of Office Park Eye Center. This is my second experience with Dr. Carol Johnston after having cataract surgery on both eyes several months earlier. Having experienced an outstanding experience and remarkable results with that procedure, I had no reservation or apprehension regarding my upcoming blepharoplasty procedure. I entered the Onslow Diagnostics Office and the front desk representative, Jabreea who has the kindest eyes and most lovely smile welcomed me to come forward to her window immediately, after explaining that I had a sick doggy in the car resting in the AC, she assured me she would let the others know that I may have to check on Tucker throughout the pre-op screening! Anesthesiologist Kate called me back promptly and patiently, professionally, and thoroughly went through all of my surgery history, medicine list, and all other pertinent information with grace and kindness. She didn't rush me and was open to any questions or concerns that I may have had. I felt very confident after leaving Kate and found Abby waiting to do my blood work and EKG. Abby was genuinely sweet and very determined to make the blood draw comfortable for me. MacKenzie watched over the procedure and was encouraging to Abby as she went about her tasks. I never felt the "poke" of the needle and the EKG was over in no time! Overall, it was just a smooth and relaxed experience and at no point did I feel rushed or nervous. As I left, Jabreea was there to say "goodbye and wished my Tucker a speedy recovery" which meant the world to me. This facility is a very warm and compassionate sanctuary, especially for others who are suffering through much more complicated scenarios than me and I feel that having warm and caring staff members like the ones that I encountered means the world to everyone who is uncertain and frightened about their future health issues. I'm thankful that Onslow Diagnostics has the best of the best to shepherd us through the ins and outs of pre-op procedures. It makes such a tremendous difference to feel the warmth and care radiating from this special, professional, and dedicated staff, I truly felt cared for. Thank you to everyone for everything you do! Upon arrival, around 7:40 on a Friday night, we were greeted by a very kind woman at the front…read moredesk. She verified that they took our insurance and then handed us paperwork to fill out before we were seen. After filling it out we waited for about 5 minutes before we were called back for vitals to be taken. Immediately got into an exam room where my husband was triaged by the nurse. Within 2-3 minutes of her leaving the room, the PA came in. My husband was being seen for a burn and the PA was very thorough and helpful. A prescription was sent to the pharmacy and we were out the door shortly after. The entire visit was around 30 minutes total. Truly great service and care. Very grateful that an urgent care was opened closer to home.

She knows what to do like the back of her hand, it's always a pleasure to see her and watch her work. Waiting time is reasonable. Finally! An orthopedic facility that appoints a doctor before a PA. I saw Dr. Guirgues (back surgeon) regarding disgenerative disease of the spine. He was familiar with my record of previous treatment in California before the visit and came up with 3 non-surgical options. A week later I saw Laurel, his PA. Impressive! Laurel is responsible for the cervical section of my spine. She reviewed MRI results on a diagram in the office and referred me to another doctor for ablation. Dr. Guirgues performed spine injections in a surgical setting. For me, it was worth the hour drive to Morehead City. I have HIGH anxiety and cannot deal with any more pain. NOTE: Ask for a doctor that uses a facility to give injections. It's the doctor's option. I was offered the option to be stretched out over a table and not be sedated, if I wanted to see another doctor at that location. [Hmmm...barbaric period.] This location offers all services to the complete spine and physical therapy (Country Club Road location).

The appointment itself was handled with the utmost professional behavior. The nurse practitioner was kind, efficient and skillful. The doctor's behavior is caring, insightful, instructive, supporting and healing. I am pleased with the entire staff, their behavior and presentation in general and with each of the individuals I met in the office. They were all individually and as a team focused on patient care. They treated the patient with integrity and honesty. Their collected wisdom and ability was applied every step of they way. I am glad to have come in contact with this practice. This office was recommended to me by a friend and I liked that it's a pretty short drive from our…read morehome. We've had three appointments thus far, and they average out to three stars. Appointment 1 - we were seen before scheduled appointment time. Appointment 2 - we weren't seen until 45 minutes past scheduled appointment time, with no apology or explanation for the wait. Appointment 3 - we were seen within 10 minutes of appointment time. The entrance to the office is somewhat confusing to find, as there is a group of buildings (all pointing different directions) with not much signage and parking on either side (imagine a half circle with the buildings in the middle and parking on two opposite sides) and the office entrance is actually facing the inside of the compound so it took a few minutes to locate. The actual office entryway/check-in desk is very cramped (barely enough room to walk in with a carseat--forget about someone trying to get in while you're standing there) and the waiting room feels cramped as well, though it's just on the small side (~10 seats). It looks a bit worn and outdated but it felt and looked clean enough. The staff is nice enough--not the best I've experienced but not the worst, either. It's definitely more "homey" feeling than the clinics at the Naval Hospital...and it's not as advanced, either. I was a bit surprised at the scale they used to weigh my newborn...at the Naval Hospital, it was a fancy digital scale that automatically took three separate readings and averaged them. At this office? An old fashioned medical weight scale (where you slide the weights across the bars to get it balanced). Well, that's fine for bigger kids and adults...but a newborn? The nurses and doctor seem to enjoy what they're doing and interacted well with my baby. I never felt rushed, but then we were only there for well-baby checks. Everyone was nice. That said, we're changing offices because they don't do immunizations for Tricare, and my whole reasoning for going to an in-town doctor was to avoid having to drive on-base all the time. Also, they seemed to imply that no town doctors could do immunizations (or maybe I misunderstood, but they certainly assured me THEY couldn't do them) somid have to go on base. Well, whatever the case, I did find a pediatrician's office that does immunizations, so I'm not exactly sure why Martin's doesn't do them. So, if you have babies and Tricare insurance, I'd probably not go here just for the inconvenience factor. But for other insurance or older kids who don't need the frequent vaccines, this place would be fine.

I called to get my medical records, the voice recording before they answer even states you can stop in the office between 8:30 AM-12 PM. I was calling to confirm that before I drove an hour and a half ONE WAY. However, I finally got a call back and the receptionist was anything but pleasant. She acted as if it was an issue that I wanted MY medical records. She stated that they no longer keep them at the office at all despite the voicemail and that Onslow Memorial Hospital has them and hung up on me. I got in contact with OMH, they said they don't even have the program technology rolled out yet for that program to even begin, therefore The Womens Clinic still has them. I left a voicemail on Monday, it's now Thursday. I have received zero call back. Lack of professionalism AND the withholding of medical records is absurd to me.
